View 4 RepliesWhile sitting on my desk(both being charged & not), my Hero restarted itself 3 times in 2 days. Is this an automatic update, or some problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOver the last few days, I've noticed my phone spontaneously restarting itself. It's happened at least 3 times since Friday, but those are the occasions it happened to be in eyeshot/earshot when it happened, so who knows how many times it's actually occurred.
I notice it also shows my up and awake time as being identical a little over 2 hours (which is how long it's been since the last random restart). It's been a bit laggier than usual, too. Not sure if either of those things are relevant or not, but thought I'd point them out.
I've been trying to root my phone for 2 days now but I can't even get my Hero to sync to my computer. I've searched around and tried a lot of the tips and tricks that I've seen. I manually downloaded drivers, and that didn't work either.I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, which from what I've heard has been a source of problems for a lot of people. I decided to come to you guys before I went to HTC about this, so if you have any advice please share. I can't even get Pre-Kitchen until I fix this problem.I've tried:
1) Restarting my phone while connected
2) Checking off USB Debugging, plugging it in, then checking it on.
3) Restarting my computer while phone is connected.
4) Downloading 64-bit drivers.
5) Un-installing HTC Sync, Re-installing it.
when all of a sudden the app shutdown on me. I thought that was strange, I looked at the battery and it was full charge. I tried to access it again and the same thing. The notification bar that you slide down won't stay down. I eventually shut it off and left it alone. Today I pick it up to play around with it some more and I opened up an app and sure enough after 10 minutes of use it did the same thing. None of the apps will stay open.
View 2 Replies View Relatedafter restarting my phone, it asked for my Google sign in (I upgraded to 2.1) but when I put in my password it tells me that there's a network error.I've tried restarting and retrying but the same thing happens.Has anybody else had this problem or have any way to fix it?
View 6 Replies View Relatedso without touching anything, my mobile data is shutting off. If i try to visit a web page it tells me to enable mobile data in setting, but it already is enabled.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Sprint Hero for around 4 months now, it is not rooted, running stock 1.5.I was trying to check the marketplace for any updates to my apps and it brought me to the set up google account screen.I've tried signing in and It tells me that there was an error on sign in and my SIM card might not be provisioned for data. Obviously as a Sprint customer I don't have a SIM card, is there anything I can do to get things working again?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am unable to sign into Facebook from the app it from HTC senses Facebook. I have tried wiping everything and various ROMs but im having the sane problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to make the browser not do this? It really slows down the browsing experience compared to other Android phones. I have tried to change my homepage to something different and that did not work. Any ideas?
View 9 Replies View RelatedTheres an annoying little feature on the 1.5 Sense's browser, and that is the frequent "Retrieving Sign-In Details" message that pop-ups when launching the web browser. Now that there have been some leaked 2.1 Sense ROM's out there, can anyone clear up whether or not the coming 2.1 update will finally be without this annoying message? Or does it still exist in the 2.1 Sense?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my invite to Google voice and I was super excited, but then I found out there were some issues with Sprint playing nice with GV. I have a couple of questions for any of you using GV with sprint network. FYI, I have the any mobile any time plan. Questions:
1. I understand that sprint treats GV as a landline call, does this mean that it will eat my minutes with every call? also, is there a workaround for this? 2. should I get a google number or keep my number 3. if i get a google number can people still call my old number? 4. I read a lot about call forwarding and some *28 and *73 options, but i couldn't wrap my head around what to actually do. I know sprint dropped some 20 cent charge, but I also read that in some situations that charge still applies. 5. can you cancel out of the service after you have signed up.
am supposed to be switching my Family Plan to Sprint come May. Right now I have an AT&T contract until 7/11/10. My plan is to sell my iPhone 3G before the new iPhone comes out and the price drops for 3Gs on Ebay (they are still going for $250-350 right now). I was going to sell my iPhone and use that money to cancel my AT&T 2 months early then buy the EVO. The problem is the EVO comes out in June, at least most likely, and I (plus my family) couldn't go without a phone plan for a month. Is there any way I could get a loner phone(like they give you when your phone is being repaired) or something from Sprint until the EVO comes out? Or any other suggestions?
View 21 Replies View RelatedI'm heading to Halifax, Nova Scotia for a week and will be bringing my Hero with me. I'll be calling Sprint customer support to see what options are available for voice and data, but I trust the advice of folks in this forum.
Is there any international voice and data plan that i can sign up for so that I don't end up paying sky-high roaming rates? I really don't want to have to keep my phone in airplane mode the whole week. Any advice from travelers to the "Great White North" would really be appreciated, eh?
I have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings. If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I got my phone a week ago or so and it just now started having problems with the GPS and randomly shutting off as well as the battery life being drained within a couple of hours from fully charged. Im guessing I should exchange my phone for a new one within my warranty period. Do I need to bring the original box and everything along with it to exchange it?
View 10 Replies View RelatedWell good news is I woke up this morning to the update!! Sweet...Or so I thought, Long story short I let it do it things while I was getting ready this morning (30min) and it seemed to work fine (Not 100% sure, wasn't really looking at my phone while driving), then all of a sudden on my ride to work it caught my eye and reset itself, No biggie, then again and again and again...and you guessed it AGAIN!! it won't stop resetting itself! I tried to take out the battery but that didn't work and I'm not going to do the "hard reset" until I show Verizon what it's doing....So has anyone else had this problem after receiving the newest update?
View 18 Replies View Relatedthe screen wont respond to anything. and it just keeps restarting itself... and when it turns to the home page.. it always says htc sense failed.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to reboot the phone instead of shutting off, waiting, then turning it back on? Seems I have to do this for my battery to last since froyo, so hoping I can make the process easier.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got a android phone but It keeps turning off and shutting down. It will not wake up to receive phone calls. Batteries have been charged and show 100 percent. What should i do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to shut the phone down straight from the recovery? I know you can reboot from the recovery into the OS, but that gives me second partition Link2SD problems, which results in various settings such as all my account and sync settings being reset, which is a pain to set up. Is it possible to press and hold the power button on the recovery main menu after you have completed all your operations so that it shuts the phone down without rebooting? Or is this harmful to the phone? What about a battery pull at the main menu so that is shuts down after you complete all your operations?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had the same problem with my hero, bought the replacement off of ebay, followed these instructions..and wasn't too complicated. The only tome I had any frustrations was getting the clips unhooked also removing the cracked piece from the super strong adhesive. Other than that piece o pie GL Taking apart the HTC Hero for Sprint (Android) Phone
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have no idea why it is turning off i got the phone yesterday. would it be because it is trying to prepare my sd card?it started when i put the card in.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone seems to shut off or start a reboot loop when I either multitask and use multiple apps at once or when I attempt to do something that is data intensive such as stream a video. It then either just boots up and once it gets to the home screen then reboots again or sometimes the phone will shut off, vibrate multiple times, then the green LED will start to blink. Once this happens the only way to get it turn on again is to pull the battery. I was using the stock 2.2 froyo with no issues until this randomly started to happen about a week ago. I thought it might be an issue with the rom so now I am currently running the 2.2 with the Uncommon 1.1 rom, baseband: 2.15.00.07.28, kernel: 2.6.32.15-gb7b01d1 htc-kernel@and18-2 #1, build number 3.21.605.1 CL231334 release keys.
View 29 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else experienced trying to wake your phone from sleep only to find it has been powered off? Strangely, this did not happen the first 2 days, but started after charging the phone fully for a second time. Could this any way be app related? I've only downloaded a few so far such as ATK. I checked my phone right after writing this, and what do you know, it turned off....
View 49 Replies View RelatedI have had my desire HD for a week and although very impressed it started to shut down prematurely even during phone calls, I did a factory data reset and all was well for a day then started shutting down again for no reason. Has anybody experienced the same thing and is there affix or do I need to send it back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since I've updated my phone shuts down randomly. Maybe once every other day, sometimes less. It would be a huge issue but my phone is also my alarm clock for getting up for work at 4am. I don't have any app killers, or battery savers installed. One thing I did notice POST update was, when you go into the running applications menu. The uptimes on the system apps seem to indicate the phone shuts them down to sleep or something. Several times Ive noticed, that even though my phone has been on for several days, the system apps have been running for 5/ 8 hours.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt shuts off and reboots when im on the phone. Also when I'm playing my music it stops about halfway through a song and goes back to the main screen.
