View 6 RepliesI recently got my HTC incredible. When I try to send a camera shot via SMS text, it tells me the image is too large and it crops it down to a size that is not legible by anyone with a non-DROID phone.

View 16 Replies View RelatedWhen I send camera shots via email using HTC's Mail application, the photos are not readable by most recipients (except, interestingly enough, by my wife on her blackberry). Same photos sent by the gmail app are fine. The photos appear as attachments, but they cannot be viewed and when the recipient tries to download, a jpg that is only a fraction of the total size is saved and that file is not viewable either.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know the camera saves pictures to the SD card, but I can't find them there using OI File Manager, or plugging it into my laptop!
The pictures are there, because I can view them and see them listed under "Albums". Under "Albums" it shows a folder called "Camera Shots", but when I look on the card, there is no such folder, nor can I find the pictures that are in it, anywhere else!
All I can see is the folder called "Saved photos" via the OI File Manager, under "Albums", and via my computer.
A few weeks back, when I was considering to switch to Galaxo or not, we had a thread here mentioning an odd issue,
Every 3rd picture taken with the camera app would be bad (or just a dud).
At the time, I couldn't reproduce the issue and it didn't bother me. But, just today afternoon (and a bit early in the week), I encountered something similar - every other picture had a 50% chance of being bad (just blank). It got to the point that the camera was just un-usable. I spent a good bit of time investigating this and I think I have an explanation. But first, let me walk you through what I did.
By default, I keep my camera to take 5 Megapixel shots at "super fine" setting. With that, I couldn't take any good shots AT ALL. I reduced it to 1M and "normal" setting. Things were a bit better, in that now only every other shot was bad. But, at least I was able to use the camera.
I use 3 desktop screens filled with widgets. I disabled most of my widgets and reduced the number of screens to 2. (I'm running Drakaz's darksense theme for Galaxo 1.6.3 ). With this, the camera was MUCH better. In fact, I could take 5 shots continuously without any problems (testing at home).
In some ways, it looks like I was stretching the limits of my i7500 a bit too much and so, the camera just didn't work right, but I can live with fewer screens and fewer widgets.
I miss the Handcent SMS widget, but from what I observed, its too resource-intensive for my needs. The only widgets I use now are from "Jorte" , the organizer app (really good too!) and "SMS Im Away".
So, for those of you who need the camera in working order, consider disabling a few screens and widgets.
I was wondering if there is a way to change or create a shortcut to take me directly to my camera shots instead of having to choose
photos --> camera shots...? I have Bettercut and using LauncherPro.
I have a few videos on my SD card. A couple that were downloaded but most have been recorded with the phone. I have all tha videos sorted into folders so I know which is which. But, today when I opened the gallery to view a picture there was a new folder created called "camera shots" with all the videos in it, or which I thought were the videos. When I opened the folder all the files were a picture of the beginning of each video and were shrunken down so small they are really hard to see. When I looked at the properties of each they all had the file ending in png. Anyone have any idea what png is and has anyone else had your phone recreate the "camera shots" folder without you taking any new pictures or videos?

View 6 Replies View Related1. Any competent music app. The default one is pretty worthless, and the "best" (I use that term loosely) 3rd party one I could find was probably MixZing, but it leaves a lot to be desired
2. Any competent camera app.. The interface on the default one pretty much sucks, and doesn't focus very well even with the green corners. If you look at Google Goggles, it has a VERY nice-looking full-screen camera that takes better photos than the default, but it can't be used as an actual camera, only for searching Google..............
Two times in as many days, my media apps would not let me access the camera or camcorder. I just kept getting a camera or camcorder icon and going back to the home screen. Any solution to this problem? A soft boot worked, yet is impractical if I want to shoot something spontaneous.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a x10 mini pro this week and the same day the phone arrived i updated to 2.1 with SE PC Companion software.
I didnīt noticed if this happens to 1.6 duo to the short usage of this droid version.
Every time i starts the camera application or any application that uses the camera (like Google goggles for example), the phone aparently crashes and suddenly reboot. After the reboot, the camera used to work for the first times but about aprox 30 min. or less that the phone has been rebooted, when i try to start the camera, the phone crashes and restarts again.
Iīve tried to Repair the phone in pc Companion software and the issue continues the same.
My DroidX was working for the few days with no dead pixels on any of the menu screens, none on any of the software applications, and none on the Camera or Camcorder applications.
On Tuesday afternoon I downloaded and installed the DroidX 1.13.604 Software Update.
My DroidX now has some dead pixels that appear only in the Camera and Camcorder applications, and not in any of the other applications or menu items.
Since the dead pixels only occur in the Camera and Camcorder applications, could it be a software related bug or mayme something else?
Tried searching google, only to find instructions that included downloading files onto your computer, which ended up being incomplete, have tried searching this forum with no success. I would greatly appreciate it if someone can please point me in the right direction. I would like to take screenshots of my screen, whether I be text messaging, on a website, video chatting, etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed a screen shot application from GIKSoft. When I started it, it asked for root permissions and wrote that only rooted phones could use the app. I have rooted my phone, but I can't see why this app need these permissions. Is this a bad application or is it normal for an screen shot app to need this? I don't need root permissions on my normal Linux machines in order to take screen shots.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having some trouble uploading screenshots via the market.android.com/publish/home dashboard. Although I've followed the rules about 320 x 480 size for screen shots, + I've used 24 bit PNG, it still is not accepting any of my screenshots. I've tried everything. Why isn't it working? When it says "no borders" - am I meant to remove the part of the screen shot that contains the time, battery consumption etc? It is basically a screen capture of the emulator.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just started developing for android and have released my first app. I'm getting some bug reports about the app not registering shots, like you tap the screen 10 times put the player only shot 9, and the evo 4g seems to have these problems, so please help me! The app: Search for: "Trigger frenzy paintball" on the android market. Or scan this Before you answer these questions, please make sure that you are only touching the screen with one finger at a time.
1. How fast were you able to shoot?
2. Does it feel like the app isn't registering shots?
3. If you can try this app at another phone model, what phone did you try it on? Did it feel like it registered shots better?

Given a choice, I would still prefer my regular shooter, but I am quite satisfied with what the EVO camera can do in a pinch. Video is still a bit disappointing, but again, good for a phone.
