I have pretty bad lag when i dial phone numbers, also when i hit call and end call. my phone is rooted and has fresh 1.1, however, it was doing this before. Just want to know if anyone else has this, or has noticed it.

I want to be able to press a phone number stored in the calendar to dial it. This seems like a reasonable request, but I can't seem to do it! Any ideas, or at least a work around?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have turned off vibration in the settings but it still vibrated when phone/dial a number. Is there any way to turn this off as well? I liked it at first, but turning it off really speeds up the response time. For some reason it is still vibrating when I go to phone and start typing a number. The lag id horrible compared to typing with the vibrate off

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have phone linked with my gmail account and now have all phone numbers converted to GOOGLE instead of PHONE on my hero but now I would only like to Sync one folder where contacts with phone numbers are say titled PHONE ONLY, is it possible for me to choose which folder of contacts from gmail I want to sync with my phone ( so I dont get miscellenous email addresses in my phonebook on my Hero)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my Hero for about 4 months now, and other than the battery issue (I do use it a lot) I'm pretty satisfied. However since Thursday last week, I've had the SAME phone number call me, have someone jabber at me, and then hang up! I looked up the area code, and it's in Jamaica! Today has been the worst, I've had 5 calls from that same number. Frankly its really started to get annoying. I called Sprint, and asked customer care if they can block that number from the account. And they can't do that. Apparently blocking that number is an infringement on their rights. On my Hero, I've been able to find that I can just push all those calls from that number to my voice mail, but I can't block it from my line altogether. Anyone else having the same or similar issue that has come up with another option?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just got a new bluetooth headset, and I set it up with my Hero only to find *gasp* no voice dialing? The whole point of having the headset is to not have to look at the phone while driving! The owner's manual of the Hero says it supports hands free profiles, as does my headset(obviously) but there's no voice dial. Unbelievable!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI normally set up call forwarding from my home phone number to my cell phone by speed-dialing a special sting of numbers from my cell phone. Once the computer on the other side answers, the cell phone sends all the correct codes, including the number where I wish my forwarded calls to go.With my newly bought HTC Hero (Sprint), this doesn't seem to work, because the automatically dialed tones are much too fast and too short. I've tried putting a "P" (for pause) between each digit, but it doesn't help.Other cell phones provide way to select between short and long tones, but apparently the Hero does not.Is there a way to slow down the dialing string so that it can be read by the phone company's computer? Obviously, I could manually key in each digit, but that's really not a good solution.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I both have Hero's and after the recent updates our phone takes forever to dial a number. It was bad before going to 2.1 but now it's terrible. It takes about 10 to 15 seconds to actually dial out. Any suggestions? We both have Google Voice but it dials slow regardless if we're using Google Voice or the standard dialer.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI have noticed some glitches with calls dropping and I don't think these instances are connected: 1) Sometimes I cannot dial numbers that are stored in the phone or using the favs widget and that includes returning a call so the number is already listed. If I hit the number it dials for about a second then says call disconnected. BUT if I manually dial the same number after it drops it will dial out fine. I haven't noticed any rhyme or reason for it doing this. It just seems to happen randomly. Maybe it is linked to low signal? It just seems odd that I can always dial the number after if I type it in. 2) When using GPS naviation (Maps) if I get an incoming call - no problem but if I dial out, after a few seconds on the phone the phone will reboot itself.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from an Samsung Instinct to an HTC Hero. I am currently on my second phone. The first one had a major OS glitch. As the service tech stated it was possessed. I am into my new replacement for about 2 weeks now. Currently, I am having horrible luck with the phone. The keyboard lags, the phone auto dials random numbers while scrolling the phone book and today while talking to my wife it made a conference call to my wife. Also the weather feature on the clock won't update the location unless I manually refresh it. These are just a few of the things I have noticed. I currently am running advanced app killer to save on battery life and the phone is up to date on the software. My brother has an HTC Touch through T-Mobile and it rocks and I have other friends with android phones and they don't experience the same issues.

When the address book was transfered over to my Hero, i received 3 to 4 different fields per person! How can i fix tihs without having to manually go in and delete 3 of the 4 fields and enter email, cell numbers to one of the contact?

I've only been an Android/HTC Hero user for about a week now, and have a weird thing happening with my Hero. I've probably done something to cause this, but, I can't figure it out.
I have several contacts in my People list, and most of them have multiple phone numbers listed with them. When I choose People, and then say my sister, who has two mobile numbers, a work number and a home number, I get a small detailed card that pretty much fills the screen and allows me to choose a number to call mobile, call home, call work, then it says send message to each number, send email.
But, say when I choose my wife, I can only Call Other, Edit Contact, Delete Contact and Send Contact as vCard.
It didn't used to do this. It used to give me these choices for my wife too. My wife has a home number, a cell number, a truck number, I need to be able to text her cell, etc. Basically, I need the same options for her as I have for my sister.
I have the same issue with many of my contacts. I don't know what happened to cause this. Any help fixing this would be much appreciated. Hopefully, I won't have to do a master reset to do so!
So, I recently switched from a G1 to a G2 Touch (Hero), and there is one setting that is driving me absolutely crackers. On my G1, in my contacts list, I could press menu and there was an option to "show only contacts with phone numbers," which meant that random e-mail contacts did not show up in the list. I cannot find a way to do this on my Hero, and I can't find an answer anywhere. I know there is a setting to tell it to not sync from Google, but I keep my numbers backed up there, so I DO want it to sync, but SURELY there is a way to set it up so that all of my e-mails aren't visible in my "people" list, short of copying every number to the phone and telling it to only look there?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow come some of my contacts phone numbers are appearing all screwed up.In one part of the system they show up as 01######### etc, in another area they show up as 44######### but on Google they show up as 01 or +44 depending on the number but never without the + on the 44.Mainly on the mobiles they will not dial even though I have just texted the same number as the contact shows up correctly. If I try to phone the contact from Contacts I get a number incorrect message but if I phone from the sms I can call them?This has only happened since upgrading to 2.1 Orange carrier.

First of all, is there any way to make it show only contacts with phone numbers? Every time I send a message with gmail, that email is automatically added to my contacts but I don't really want to see it there when I'm looking for phone contacts. It makes my list very long. I know I can do this with apps like aContacts but I want to use the HTC contacts app if possible. Second, I was playing some music and then my lock screen wallpaper suddenly decided to change to the album art. I assumed that it was supposed to do this but then after I stopped playing the music it stayed. I then changed the lock screen wallpaper but it did no good. Finally, how do I add words to my dictionary. The keyboard seems identical to the one that I had as a stock rogers magic except the "add word" button has disappeared.
