HTC EVO 4G : Shut Off Haptic Feedback When Dialing A Number To Make A Call

Oct 14, 2010

I am wondering if I have a software problem. I have tried everything to shut off the haptic feedback when dialing a number to make a call. Haptic is shut off for the 4 main buttons at the bottom of the screen and it is off for text typing, but it will just not shut off for dialing phone numbers. Am I missing something here?

HTC EVO 4G :: Calls Drop When Dialing Stored Numbers / When GPS Running

Aug 22, 2010

I have noticed some glitches with calls dropping and I don't think these instances are connected: 1) Sometimes I cannot dial numbers that are stored in the phone or using the favs widget and that includes returning a call so the number is already listed. If I hit the number it dials for about a second then says call disconnected. BUT if I manually dial the same number after it drops it will dial out fine. I haven't noticed any rhyme or reason for it doing this. It just seems to happen randomly. Maybe it is linked to low signal? It just seems odd that I can always dial the number after if I type it in. 2) When using GPS naviation (Maps) if I get an incoming call - no problem but if I dial out, after a few seconds on the phone the phone will reboot itself.

Is there a way to disable haptic feedback when you move your phone to silent mode? I normally carry the phone with vibrate on, but in class I'd like to set it to silent, and then I'd like it to not use haptic feedback so that I can use the phone without making a ton of noise.

HTC Incredible :: Keyboard - No Haptic Feedback

Jul 4, 2010

I recently noticed an issue with my Droid Incredible that no one has been able to fix. Whenever I press the "t" on my virtual keyboard, I am constantly getting the "r" or "y". Rarely am I getting the "t". It seems like sometimes I press the "t" and I don't get any haptic feedback. If I continuously press any other letter, I get that letter. But with the "t", it is mostly "r" and "y".

I went to the Verizon store and they noticed the problem, but said only that I should do a factory reset which I did after organizing apps I have downloaded, with no resolution. And the first thing out of their mouth was if you get a replacement, it won't be a new one. Being with Verizon for over 8 years, I understand that since I've had bad Blackberries in the past, but I have also found that the so called refurbished ones have worked flawlessly. I went ahead and had them send one out to me.

HTC Hero :: Turning Off Haptic Keyboard Feedback On Villain 5.3 ROM

Apr 27, 2010

Don't know if it's just me, but I do not seem to be able to turn off the touch/haptic feedback for the keyboard since flashing this system. Using the old 'turn it off' option has no effect. Has anyone else had this happen? I was just thinking it might speed the keyboard up a little if I could turn it off (and may help save a tiny bit of battery too).

I've had the Hero about a week now, and keep finding that whenever I'm in the dialler app, I press the big green 'Call' button by mistake.I don't like that the fact that it's highlighted as soon as you enter the app via 'Phone' on the homescreen, and it looks like it defaults to the last caller. Is there anyway to change this? Ideally I don't want it to be highlighted until I've selected a contact to call.

General :: MK802 Mini PC - Disable Soft Keyboard Hiding With USB Keyboard Available?

Jun 22, 2012

I'm using an MK802 mini PC. I don't have a USB keyboard yet.

When I plug in a wired USB mouse, I can use that to click on the on screen soft keyboard.

But when I plug in the wireless dongle for a USB mouse, the Android soft keyboard doesn't show anymore (I guess this is because the wireless dongle supports both keyboard and mouse, and tells Android a hardware keyboard is available, so Android doesn't show the soft keyboard).

Any way to ignore this and always show the soft keyboard? Or another keyboard I can download which will always show?

Android :: Configure An EditText's Soft Keyboard To Use Numbers Initially - But Still Allow Text

Jul 21, 2010

I want to let users input a postal code to my app. The common use case is the US zip code, which are composed solely of numbers, so I'd like to display the numeric keyboard initially in the soft input. However, not all postal codes are solely digits, so I still need users to be able to enter other characters.

I've been trying to do this with android:inputType, but by setting the "number" flag, it automatically blocks any input except for number-based stuff. Is there a way to just accept general text, but get the soft keyboard to initially display a more number-based keyboard?

Android :: Disable Keypad Or Whole Keyboard Support On Activity?

Nov 2, 2010

I have a layout with lots of different imagebuttons on it. Application is developed in full-touch, so there should be no response to keyboard or keypad on all activities except one, where user can input his name.
Is there a way to achieve that?

I've checked on debug, keypress and keypad press result in onKeyDown event. I've set it to return 'false' for all keys. But, for some reason, android keeps selecting my imagebuttons when keypad is pressed. And pressing Enter key result in View.onClick event.

How to totally disable all keyboard input for activity? I use Motorola Milestone for tests - a slider with a keyboard.
