I'm using CM6 with uncapped #9 set to run at 761 mhz and im using OC widget and i set it to 761 and my phone is indeed running faster but under the widget it say 352 and won't change. is there some way to see if it is indeed running at 761 mhz? i checked in advanced settings and it is set at 761 but i just want to be sure.

I like the idea of roms like Zen and purehero as they come overclocked and speedy. My main issue with trying these is I'm wondering what the battery life is like with these? Running the CPU oc'd I would imagine sucks more battery, anyone wanna confirm or deny this? I'm currently on fresh 2.1.2 and though it is snappy, its really no different than the official 2.1 release I was running rooted and I'm looking for more now, just over 2 mflops on linpack if that helps clarify.

wtf? Check spare parts partial wake usage since last unplugged and the Calander is up there at the top above the Android system.
I noticed that if i dont use the app to kill running apps after i exit them they are still running in the background is this normal for the Android? I am coming from Pre so not sure if they are killed when exited.

Make sure you don't run any applications and leave them open. So if you ever have the same problem, turn off your phone and place it by an open window and let it cool off for a good 5-10 minutes.

View 25 Replies View RelatedI wasn't able to find anything on this after a cursory search, but it seems like my music player sometimes kicks in when the screen is off and the phone is stowed in my pocket. I can't seem to recreate the behavior predictably by playing with any buttons, though, so I'm not sure what's triggering it.
I have the new HTC Hero on Sprint.
Any ideas what might be causing this behavior, or how I can stop it? It's pretty embarrassing, and I'm nervous to go into a theatre with the phone at all now, even when it is on silent. Even short of the music player, more often the phone will wake from screen-off with some other page up front (not the main home page, but one of the other views like the home page, the ones you get to by flicking right or left from the home page...

Most reviews i've seen for Snesoid that have been positive, the person had something like the Evo or incredible. Is there anything i can do to make Snesoid run well? Does getting the paid version of snesoid help? Getting another phone is not a solution.

If you press:
Home --> and hold it for a couple of seconds
You get pictures (icons) of the last six apps you've run.
I was in the Sprint store today and the rep who also uses the HTC Hero told me there's an App that stops them, which can be downloaded at the Android Market.
It's called " Kill-Something? "
It's an App we can download that will force these off and perhaps save battery power, or at least stop them from running in the background.
Questions
1) Anyone know the name of this App?
2) Is it useful? Have you had any experiences with it either positive or negative?
3) Any other tips (in layman terms please) on stopping Apps from running in the background on Sprint HTC Hero?
What version of hboot should I have after running the official Sprint 2.1 RUU? I have 1.47 currently, but not sure if it should be that or 1.41.

Every time I go on the market, browser, check my email, or send a text, Sprint Navigation is shown running in all of my 3rd party app managers. I have task killer so I can kill it as I please, however I would like to completely prevent it from starting up when i'm not even using it. Any ideas on how I can accomplish this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI am having the following issue with Exchange. When I setup the phone initially, I was able to synch my email, contacts, and calendar just fine. However, I started noticing that my emails had a delayed vs my computer. My Hero was syncing only every 5 minutes or so (I do have selected the option to get emails as they arrive). Eventually, I went to settings, data synchronization, exchange activesync, and there is an error message that says 'Error occurred on the computer running the exchange server'.
It also seems that it hasn't synced the contacts and calendar in a while, apparently it stops after failing to sync email. The funny thing is that I am actually do getting new emails just not as they arrive, but as I said before, every 5 mins or so. Another thing is that If I click on Synch now. I do not get that error message and it syncs mail, contacts and calendar just fine, but again when it tries to do it on its own, the error message comes up again.
Lets discuss the best nightly combos with kernals and other things to make CM6 better.
I found that 9/24 nightly made things lag when you have the music player running. i've never experienced so much lag until I used my music player. Just a heads up. Great battery life. Was charged at 67 last night and woke up this morning and I'm at 16 percent and the Battery Info says it's been off the charger for 12 hours. Imagine if I was at 100 percent instead of 67. That's with the collins battery tweak with kernal 14
9/13 didn't give me a lot of freezes and restarts, but lately it started. I'm assuming this is because of jit maybe?
As a previous thread I made, the latest nightlys give you the ability to "swipe" your individual notifications instead of just pushing the "clear all" button. nice addition.
1) How do I switch my phone from using EVDo to 1x only? I use an Airave, and it uses more battery since it is always trying to find the best data signal from a tower.
2) How do I stop google voice from loading and running automatically whenever i reboot my phone? If i go to menu>settings>applications>running services, I can force stop it there, but I dont want it ever loading, I don't use google vioce.
My battery seems to be losing charge on its own im running fresh 1.1 gumbo kernel and overclock does anyone know why?

If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
