View 25 RepliesMy battery seems to be losing charge on its own im running fresh 1.1 gumbo kernel and overclock does anyone know why?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI seem to get about 3Mbits down max speed on my hero, versus 17Mbits on my computer, both using wifi. Latency is also a slight issue. 3Mbits is okay, but just wondering if this is abnormal. I used the speedtest.net app, and I connect to my router using WPA1. Does everyone else get similar results? BTW I'm using Fresh 1.1 Rom.
View 12 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best way to overclock Fresh 2.3.3? I am just looking for something I can flash once and be done with it. Want it to make the phone faster and get better battery life. Is 710 kernel/OC Widget combo best? Looking for links... Thanks! looking for something like gumbo custom kernel...
View 19 Replies View RelatedI will be rooting tonight then putting fresh 1.1 on and then the gumbo kernel and want to use one of these two to speed up the phone. Which one should I use?
I am okay with paying 99 cents for the app so please do not count that against it. I am looking for overall performance.
I tried both overclock and setcpu for 528 max and 160 (or 245) min. Whenever I put my phone in sleep and turn it back on, it automatically goes to 245 min 245 max which is slooow. Could this be a problem with the rom? because Im using Darchlegend v4 2.1 rom. Im just gonna unistall for now

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhat's the difference? Do you have to overclock with Fresh Toast 2.1? It seems like Fresh Toast 2.1 is less stable than Fresh 2.1.1, so should I just stick with Fresh 2.1.1 if I want a stable system?
View 29 Replies View RelatedI just rooted my hero last night and threw on CM6, let me say, much better than 2.1 I have a quick question though, i downloaded "setcpu" last night, and it will only let me go to 691mhz overclock, and as of right now my phone can ALMOST play psx4 droid, im running around 10 fps, and i need help figure out how to reach a Higher overclock to help out my fps....even if im wrong, can u still let me know how?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI noticed that if i dont use the app to kill running apps after i exit them they are still running in the background is this normal for the Android? I am coming from Pre so not sure if they are killed when exited.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that lately, my download speeds on my rooted Droid (running BB 0.5 most recently, though this "problem" occurred with BB 0.4 and LFY 1.6 as well) have not been stellar, though my upload speeds seem fine:
Could this be caused by the baseband? Im running C_01.43.01P. Prior to that, I was running (I think) 3E, which came with the phone, and worked fine with BB 0.4 but when the updated one came out I updated it since, hey, it's newer right? Anyway, (1) is this certainly the problem? and (2) if I choose to, how can I safely roll back to the 3E baseband?
Ever since I downloaded the new update (DI18) this morning, I cannot get good download speeds, but my upload speeds have greatly increased. Any ideas? Here is some proof If someone could give me a clue of what the problem could be, that would be great.
View 25 Replies View RelatedI just overclocked to 1.2 on cynagoen 5.062, I have overclock widget installed on my phone. Whenever I check it, the widget shows the phone is at 550, unless I manually move the slider to 1200. Does this mean my phone's not really running at 1.2, or am I misunderstanding how the overclock process works? Also, is there a way to do some sort of speed test? (I don't have set cpu and I can't buy apps at the moment) I do know when i move my slider to 1200 the web seems a lot faster, but whether thats real or placebo is beyond me.
View 7 Replies View Related1) Do you have to have the SetCPU app actually running for it to overclock? Or can I just kill with my task killer when I don't need it?
2) What's all this about SetCPU only working up to 950 with the Sholes ROM? I have it set at 1000 for now and it's working perfectly
Now that I'm running the 2d ROM how can I begin running apps from my sd card? If this topic already exists can someone post a link?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI find my phone overheating. It was at 130 degrees! What was the problem? Well, I forgot to close an application! So if you have the gumbo kernel. Make sure you don't run any applications and leave them open. So if you ever have the same problem, turn off your phone and place it by an open window and let it cool off for a good 5-10 minutes.

View 1 Replies View Relatedcan i run the HOME setup with all the nexus sweetness (weather/news app, maybe some icons...) and still be able to switch back to my SENSE the way I have it set up now when I want (just by going into applications and switching out the defaults between SENSE and HOME) without having to flash, reboot, etc.?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI wasn't able to find anything on this after a cursory search, but it seems like my music player sometimes kicks in when the screen is off and the phone is stowed in my pocket. I can't seem to recreate the behavior predictably by playing with any buttons, though, so I'm not sure what's triggering it.
I have the new HTC Hero on Sprint.
Any ideas what might be causing this behavior, or how I can stop it? It's pretty embarrassing, and I'm nervous to go into a theatre with the phone at all now, even when it is on silent. Even short of the music player, more often the phone will wake from screen-off with some other page up front (not the main home page, but one of the other views like the home page, the ones you get to by flicking right or left from the home page...
I'm a newb. i want to change my icons how do i do this? also where can i download some good icons?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs this normal or some kind of scam by sprint?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running CM6 and am looking for a way to turn off the LED as the phone is charging. I like to use the desk clock and the amber light as it's charging is so bright. Anyone know of a way to do this? Any Third party app?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo just got the Sprint HTC Hero and tried the Snesoid lite. All the games run pretty slow. Most reviews i've seen for Snesoid that have been positive, the person had something like the Evo or incredible. Is there anything i can do to make Snesoid run well? Does getting the paid version of snesoid help? Getting another phone is not a solution.
View 4 Replies View RelatedUsing Task Killer and it closes all the apps works most of the time. I check TK every few often and there are tons of apps running, like settings, music, myspace, etc even though I never opened them. Is this the norm or why doesn't Android handle the phone management more smoothly.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have checked for related threads to see if this was formerly addressed. It's been discussed generally, but neither specifically to the CDMA HTC Hero or the procedure I'm going to summarize below:
If you press:
Home --> and hold it for a couple of seconds
You get pictures (icons) of the last six apps you've run.
I was in the Sprint store today and the rep who also uses the HTC Hero told me there's an App that stops them, which can be downloaded at the Android Market.
It's called " Kill-Something? "
It's an App we can download that will force these off and perhaps save battery power, or at least stop them from running in the background.
Questions
1) Anyone know the name of this App?
2) Is it useful? Have you had any experiences with it either positive or negative?
3) Any other tips (in layman terms please) on stopping Apps from running in the background on Sprint HTC Hero?
What version of hboot should I have after running the official Sprint 2.1 RUU? I have 1.47 currently, but not sure if it should be that or 1.41.
