I haven't had any luck trying to upload videos to either facebook or youtube. When I do the email thing that facebook offers, it replies that they do not support that kind of file, and if I try to upload them or send them as messages, it tell me that files are too large. I used to have a Touch pro and I was able to upload and send video files to others.

A little disappointed that there does not seem to be a native way to directly upload videos taken on the phone to Facebook (or anywhere else for that matter). Is there an app available or a way that you can do this? Bit of a pain to have to pull from the card on my computer and upload on my PC to FB. I have Qik (app) but dont want / shouldnt have to use it everytime I want to share a basic video.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems uploading a ringer from my computer to my phone. I sent the ringer using funformobile.com just like all my other phones(storm, instinct, etc.). It downloads the ringer but I can't access it. When I try to open it after I send it it says "no app can be found to open the file". What am I doing wrong???
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know this has been asked about the Motorola Droid, but I was wondering the same thing about the HTC Desire, Uploading you tube videos via 3g network. When I've taken a video using my phone, I have the option to share it by sending it to You Tube (annoyingly this creates another Google account on my phone, but never mind). More annoying is the fact that it waits until I'm connected to a wi-fi network before allowing me to upload it. Surely if I want to use my data allowance to upload videos to You Tube, that's my business, but I can't find a setting that allows me to change this. According to HTC, this is a change that T-Mobile must have made. I'm not convinced by this, but I'd like to know what other people have found, and whether there are any easy ways around it. Still being fairly new to Android, I don't fancy rooting the phone. I'm using Android 2.1.

About every Percent the upload stops and says "Retrying Waiting 1 Minute" Any idea why it is doing this? I also have the phone plugged in and while it is plugged in the screen does not turn off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI came from an HD2, and I used to take videos with it and upload directly to Youtube. Why cant the Vibrant do the same thing? I know it can be done (supposedly) via wifi, but thats stupid that I cant do it over 3g. So anyway, I took a video of my son, and wanted to UL it. Well, I set up my wifi, and it started. After a few seconds, it pauses and says something like waiting for wifi, retrying in 1 minute. then 2 mins, then it sometimes starts, sometimes climbs to 5 minutes. Eventually, it makes its way to 100% completed, but never succeeds. Always tells me "Network error, please try again". I tried literally 20 times last night to no avail.

I get all the way into upload and the upload page says uploads disabled. Anyone know why this would be?I registered my phone number on my previous phone (same number/provider now) with facebook and have an upload email address. On my previous phone I successfully uploaded videos using this method.So I tried it on the droid. First problem I had was with the messaging app. I can't figure out how to search my contacts from the To:. If I start typing the contacts come up but it only lists phone numbers.I found that the Contacts has an menu option for Display Options. That's where the Only contacts with phones check box is.still doesn't show up in the messaging app. I even killed it hoping some kind of refresh was needed.nope.no emails. Why doesn't the message app have a contacts menu option. So I go to contacts which now has facebook email in it. I find facebook. I hit edit. I press and hold on the email text box.copy all.then restart messaging and paste the email into the to.that was quite a bit of work.at least now I have a message thread to reuse..cause that was a PITA.I then hit upload and select my video...all my videos of which the longest is 20 seconds (I've always been able to mms up-to-30 seconds on Verizon) error out saying they are two big. btw.my samsung flip phone with windoze 2 would go into a "formatting for messaging" sequence before sending it.So I take a 2 second video attach it and send it off.facebook texts back "Sorry an error occurred processing your video. Please try again in a little while."huge props to anyone who can come up with a way to upload video either 3G or wifi to facebook. I'm going to try USB mounting and upload on the computer but that defeats the whole purpose.huger props to anyone who can figure out why the main facebook site says "Video Uploads Disabled" when I surf from my phone....the conspiracy theory person thinks collusion!

View 11 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a movie via a torrent then converted it to MP4 format via Videora. The transfer from my computer to the HTC Hero looked good. However, when i go to "music" on my phone, I don't see the movie there. I only see audio files. Is there something I'm doing wrong? As a side note, when i check the properties of this video on my PC, it says Opens with: "Unknown Application." Could this be the problem?

I noticed that the Hero lacks the option to share a video recorded via the phone to Facebook (an option I liked on the Instinct).Does anyone know of a good app that allows this? Is this an option they are going to add in the future? I just started using the app for 'Qik', however this is primarily to stream live video from your phone to your Qik channel. It does post a link on FB for others to see the video, even if no longer streaming live, but the videos you record when using the app do not stay native to the phone (cannot view / locate videos in your albums) and you have to go to your channel to view them.Curious if anyone knew of an app that allows you to choose a video from albums and share on social media sites (specifically FB).

I'm at my local Sprint store fondling the new EVO and contemplating when I get an upgrade and maybe I should get one or should I wait or.Anyway, the phone was fully functional and on 3G, so I thought I would check out YouTube. I brought it up and searched out a video I had watched before and cued it up. When it played, and for whatever reason, it had super resolution and looked great, but it would not play more than a few seconds without stopping then starting, stopping and starting again, etc. I thought this was pretty weird, so holding the EVO in my other hand, I pulled out my Hero and cued up the same exact YouTube video. When the vid played on the Hero the video guality and resolution were not as good as the EVO's, but it played perfectly and seamlessly all the way through, no starting and stopping at all.

It was 9mb of precious space and when I connect my phone to my PC I cant find it anywhere and I for sure can't find it anywhere on my phone. I was hoping there would be some software that i could install onto my PC, which would allow me to transfer the contact details across. View 3 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
