I'm wondering if this is possible, my phone is telling me it is waiting for a wifi network but there aren't any around me. Are there any settings I can change so I can just use the 3g connection?

Having Issues uploading my Videos on my Phone to YouTube. I am on Wifi and I have great signal. About every Percent the upload stops and says "Retrying Waiting 1 Minute" Any idea why it is doing this? I also have the phone plugged in and while it is plugged in the screen does not turn off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI came from an HD2, and I used to take videos with it and upload directly to Youtube. Why cant the Vibrant do the same thing? I know it can be done (supposedly) via wifi, but thats stupid that I cant do it over 3g. So anyway, I took a video of my son, and wanted to UL it. Well, I set up my wifi, and it started. After a few seconds, it pauses and says something like waiting for wifi, retrying in 1 minute. then 2 mins, then it sometimes starts, sometimes climbs to 5 minutes. Eventually, it makes its way to 100% completed, but never succeeds. Always tells me "Network error, please try again". I tried literally 20 times last night to no avail.

I get all the way into upload and the upload page says uploads disabled. Anyone know why this would be?I registered my phone number on my previous phone (same number/provider now) with facebook and have an upload email address. On my previous phone I successfully uploaded videos using this method.So I tried it on the droid. First problem I had was with the messaging app. I can't figure out how to search my contacts from the To:. If I start typing the contacts come up but it only lists phone numbers.I found that the Contacts has an menu option for Display Options. That's where the Only contacts with phones check box is.still doesn't show up in the messaging app. I even killed it hoping some kind of refresh was needed.nope.no emails. Why doesn't the message app have a contacts menu option. So I go to contacts which now has facebook email in it. I find facebook. I hit edit. I press and hold on the email text box.copy all.then restart messaging and paste the email into the to.that was quite a bit of work.at least now I have a message thread to reuse..cause that was a PITA.I then hit upload and select my video...all my videos of which the longest is 20 seconds (I've always been able to mms up-to-30 seconds on Verizon) error out saying they are two big. btw.my samsung flip phone with windoze 2 would go into a "formatting for messaging" sequence before sending it.So I take a 2 second video attach it and send it off.facebook texts back "Sorry an error occurred processing your video. Please try again in a little while."huge props to anyone who can come up with a way to upload video either 3G or wifi to facebook. I'm going to try USB mounting and upload on the computer but that defeats the whole purpose.huger props to anyone who can figure out why the main facebook site says "Video Uploads Disabled" when I surf from my phone....the conspiracy theory person thinks collusion!

I can select a video to view and it looks like it's loading but after serveral minutes the error message 'Sorry no network connection right now, please try again later' or 'Sorry, this video cannot be played. this video is not available'
My internet seems to be working although it seems very slow (thought it should be alot faster). Is there something I need to set up to be able to view the videos? I've tried using the youtube widget and also using Dolphin HD but with no luck.
Is there anyway to get you tube videos to show up on the whole screen? Just wondering why it only shows the little video when they have this big screen to show it on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to find a video on YouTube on my Droid that I could easily find on my computer, but I could not get the video to come up in the YouTube search using my Droid. I tried this in the YouTube app and the browser, but I got the same results. For this particular search, my Droid came up with 4 results, and my computer 20 results. I've also done google searches for particular videos, only to get a "video not compatible with YouTube mobile" (or something like that). Are these 2 issues related? Is my search on my Droid only finding mobile-compatible videos?

I have yet to be able to play any youtube videos on my phone, whether it be from the youtube widget, a browser window, or a facebook link. It just goes to loading video, and it never loads. i also have wifi and gps on all the time, settings for brightness is automatic. cpu set 550min to 880max. and have juicy defender free running. also tons of widgets "about 3 screens full of widgets. and lookout defender/set cpu/ nimbuzz/ battery status running in the notification bar. to me it looks like its fine, but what i noticed after really looking at the plot is the battery power drops 10% almost every 30 minutes during heavy use. and a hour between 10% drops and its almost on the dot to.
Does anyone know the aximum upload file size for Droid you tube videos on 3G? I'm going to be in an area with most likely no wifi but I'm pretty sure I should have solid EVDO and I need to upload videos, just wanted to know the maximum file size/length for youtube videos and if there's a way to bypass the limit (I really don't care if I ring up 1.5 gigs of data).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI know this has been asked about the Motorola Droid, but I was wondering the same thing about the HTC Desire, Uploading you tube videos via 3g network. When I've taken a video using my phone, I have the option to share it by sending it to You Tube (annoyingly this creates another Google account on my phone, but never mind). More annoying is the fact that it waits until I'm connected to a wi-fi network before allowing me to upload it. Surely if I want to use my data allowance to upload videos to You Tube, that's my business, but I can't find a setting that allows me to change this. According to HTC, this is a change that T-Mobile must have made. I'm not convinced by this, but I'd like to know what other people have found, and whether there are any easy ways around it. Still being fairly new to Android, I don't fancy rooting the phone. I'm using Android 2.1.

When I do the email thing that facebook offers, it replies that they do not support that kind of file, and if I try to upload them or send them as messages, it tell me that files are too large. I used to have a Touch pro and I was able to upload and send video files to others.

I just go to the music category and most of the top videos I no longer can view. Did they change something with the update to prevent youtube videos from playing. A very low percentage play.

I figure maybe it's a Flash problem, but I can't seem to play ANY YouTube videos on my Eris. The error I always get is something about the video not being found. This is a new Eris, got it about 2 weeks ago so I am assuming it's got the most current ROM. Does anyone know how I can get YouTube to work while on the cellular network and not WiFi?

Well today, I noticed different resolutions. Is 1280x720 the 720p resolution? If so, then I may have figured it out myself.
