Sprint HTC Hero :: Unable To Play Any YouTube Videos / Get Them To Work?
Dec 16, 2009Since yesterday, I have been unable to play any YouTube videos. I get a popup saying cannot play video. Meanwhile my coworkers happily watches whatever he wants. Any idea what's going on?

Nov 7, 2009I just got the gsm hero. on a site that has embedded you tube videos, how do I play them in the you tube app? otherwise, it plays the video in the htc flash player and the video is jumpy and bad looking. BTW, menu>more>watch in HQ only shows up if your watching videos in the you tube app, it doesn't show up in the htc flash player.

Nov 17, 2010I just received an MP4 video that plays really well on my Hero. But it is not visible in the photo gallery of my phone. It's grayed out. When I go into my SD card with a file manager and click on it the movie will play perfectly but it won't play though the photo gallery manager.My real issue is that I have to go into a file manager to find the file and play it instead of using a widget to call up a program that will play it. There is obviously something in the phone that can handle the MP4 format and I just need to know what program to use.

May 18, 2010Just completed my first root of my Hero, and plan to install Fresh 2.1.1, but I am unclear on the matter of apps2sd being built into it (is it?) and whether I need to back up my entire 16g sd card before I load 2.1.1. I can live with not using apps2sd if it means I don't need to re-copy my entire sd card which is near full.

Dec 20, 2009I downloaded a movie via a torrent then converted it to MP4 format via Videora. The transfer from my computer to the HTC Hero looked good. However, when i go to "music" on my phone, I don't see the movie there. I only see audio files. Is there something I'm doing wrong? As a side note, when i check the properties of this video on my PC, it says Opens with: "Unknown Application." Could this be the problem?

Nov 26, 2009I haven't had any luck trying to upload videos to either facebook or youtube. When I do the email thing that facebook offers, it replies that they do not support that kind of file, and if I try to upload them or send them as messages, it tell me that files are too large. I used to have a Touch pro and I was able to upload and send video files to others.

Feb 24, 2010A little disappointed that there does not seem to be a native way to directly upload videos taken on the phone to Facebook (or anywhere else for that matter). Is there an app available or a way that you can do this? Bit of a pain to have to pull from the card on my computer and upload on my PC to FB. I have Qik (app) but dont want / shouldnt have to use it everytime I want to share a basic video.

Had the Hero for over a week and mine is not laggy at all "swipies"and still loving it. Loads great no major issues at this time.Except always mis-spell words.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Sharing Videos To Facebook
Dec 13, 2009I noticed that the Hero lacks the option to share a video recorded via the phone to Facebook (an option I liked on the Instinct).Does anyone know of a good app that allows this? Is this an option they are going to add in the future? I just started using the app for 'Qik', however this is primarily to stream live video from your phone to your Qik channel. It does post a link on FB for others to see the video, even if no longer streaming live, but the videos you record when using the app do not stay native to the phone (cannot view / locate videos in your albums) and you have to go to your channel to view them.Curious if anyone knew of an app that allows you to choose a video from albums and share on social media sites (specifically FB).

I'm at my local Sprint store fondling the new EVO and contemplating when I get an upgrade and maybe I should get one or should I wait or.Anyway, the phone was fully functional and on 3G, so I thought I would check out YouTube. I brought it up and searched out a video I had watched before and cued it up. When it played, and for whatever reason, it had super resolution and looked great, but it would not play more than a few seconds without stopping then starting, stopping and starting again, etc. I thought this was pretty weird, so holding the EVO in my other hand, I pulled out my Hero and cued up the same exact YouTube video. When the vid played on the Hero the video guality and resolution were not as good as the EVO's, but it played perfectly and seamlessly all the way through, no starting and stopping at all.
