I came to the conclusion that i have too many apps, lol. so i went to start deleting some of them through the market>my downloads, and uninstalling them one by one. I was just wondering if there is a way to mass uninstall these apps instead of one by one...?

Is there any way to remove pre-installed programs?
For example, the following programs were pre-installed:
Amazon MP3
Footprints
Teeter
And maybe some others.
I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?
Sprint TV
Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
How do you uninstall the apps from sprint? I did not see an easy way to do this under applications in settings? A lot of these apps I do not want, but certain ones do not want to uninstall. Any ideas?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI introduced myself as a "digital dog" barking for "Apps! And so I quickly filled my Hero until getting a notice saying it's too full with only 15MB left. Trouble is, I'd like to add even more. So is there a way to make room in my phone (not my SD card) other than uninstalling? I don't think it's possible to move apps to my spacious card and link them, right? I'm still going through the apps to see which ones work and fit into my life, and don't want to uninstall any just yet. Is there another way?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was attempting to install the android sdk to my PC so i can push a file to my phone. i downloaded the android sdk from the website and unzipped it to my desktop. i ran the .exe setup from my desktop but i read somewhere that the folder was suppose to be put in the C: directory so i panic and canceled the installation process so now i think it partially installed. i went to my control panel and tried to uninstall but i didn't see any android or sdk program installed. anywhere know where else to look?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently running DC1.0 and I installed an old version of spare parts from my SD using appInstaller then used aTrackDog to find a newer version and installed that over it. Well I had 2 spare parts installed and I installed one of them that was made in 2010, but the other one was apparently made in 2008 and I can't uninstall it. I even went as far as going into the recovery screen and using the wipe feature only to reboot and find the application STILL on the phone... I don't remember the application being installed with the rom so even then, I should be able to uninstall it after the wipe.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI REALLY need some assistance, think I screwed my phone, really want to avoid a hard wipe. I installed Lock bot the other day, has some issues with dual lock layers (i.e. the lock bot app wasn't disabling my HTC lock so I had two unlocks.). emailed dev and he sent me a beta version to hopefully correct issue. I only received an apk file from him. FYI I am on fresh 1.1, rooted. I used the kitchen to puch this file: "LockBotPro_1.10.0_beta.apk" to /system/app. The install went successfully, but later after a reboot I face a HUGE issue. The lock bot app is hanging upon reboot and will not unlock. At first I thought i would still be okay, I had ATK and Advanced Task manager both running at start up, so I can enter both of them through my notification drop down menu. I used both to kill the task-to no avail it is still locked. I tried to use advanced task manager to uninstall lock bot - to no avail, it cannot be removed. Then I tried to pull back the file through kitchen, to no avail.

I'm new to Android. Just got a HTC Hero yesterday, with the latest update of 2.2.
A couple of questions I can seem to find answered anywhere.
1. I can't figure out how uninstall apps.
2. I can't figure out how to set apps to auto-upgrade or what the function is to update all simultaneously. i've seen screenshots from others phone showing the "update all" function in Market. But it doesn't exist in mine. I'm wondering if that's because it doesn't exist for the Hero?
How to disable or turn off the default messanging application.I dont wont to totally uninstall it but as of right now Im getting double messages on hand cent and the default app.

It certainly seems like it is removed. But, when I go to the Market to try to reinstall it, it as listed as "installed" in the Downloads section. When I click on it, both the "Open" and "Uninstall" buttons are grayed out. So, I can't even reinstall it.
The app is Yellowbook (US Yellow Pages Search).
Is there some residual file on my phone that I might be able to delete with ES File Explorer or via adb?

Does anyone know if the upcoming Android 2.1 update to the Sprint Hero will allow us to save apps to the SD card without having to root the phone? And also, some things to think about: remember that the Hero only runs class 2 speeds, even if the card is class 6. Do you think this will change once we receive Android 2.1? Because if not, I would imagine that the phone would be slow opening apps (assuming apps to SD will be available).I know that if they do program the Hero to allow class 6 speeds, and allow apps to SD (without root) then the Hero could run MUCH faster than it does now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have manually installed the drivers, and I am running windows 7 64-bit. The problem is that my Hero will not connect to my pc as a mass storage device. I pull down the notifications, mount, but then a couple of seconds later, the hero remounts the SD card and closes the connection. My computer will detect it and I can access the "storage device" for a couple of seconds, but then it disconnects.

It's wonderful to have the opportunity to try and use so many useful/entertaining bits of software. However I also recognise that money makes the world go round and in order to support developers then those that can afford to make the contribution should do the honorable thing.I'm just about to receive my first paycheque since the christmas holidays and I think its about time to upgrade to the paying version or donate to the developer of various apps that I've been using for about a month.So here's my list of apps which I'm going to be giving my hard earned money to.Robotic Guitarist - guitar app 0.99 Euro Solo - another guitar app 1.50 music online - music $7.99. There's a couple more that I'd have liked to donate to, but doesn't seem very easy at the moment. Perhaps there should be something in the settings menu for most applications which automatically links to a place for users to donate.

I'm trying to find FlightTrack and I'm told "There are no matches in Android Market for the search: flighttrack." When I go to the developer's site and scan the 2D barcode and follow the link I'm told "There are no matches in Android Market for the search: pname:com.mobiata.flighttrack"
The developer is talking to Google about it. In the meantime, can some of my fellow Hero owners who took the recent update see if they can see FlightTrack in the Market and report it here? Then I'll know that the problem is either limited to my phone or is a general one for Heros.
Atrack Dog doesn't work too well in 2.1. I have 2.1 and the OTA patch for it. What is the best app updater now in 2.1? I like staying on top of the versions for the applications in my hero. What are you guys using.
View 2 Replies View RelatedTethering - using PdaNet, works flawlessly. I have used it on forums and to watch videos. I am getting speeds between 1.5 and 2.0, not bad at all.
NESoid - works great, just make sure the background apps aren't running. Use the search and back buttons for A and B.
Apps - I switched from the iPhone 3Gs and found that any usable App from the App Store can be found in the Android Market.
I have not had any of the problems listed. All I have done is replace the messaging app with handcent's. I do a soft reset every now and again, but that is all the changes I have made.
Sprint and Android together = Awesome - I pay $60 a month with my discount and get unlimited to any mobile, 450 land line minutes, unlimited data and text message.
