General :: Samsung S4 - App That Shuts Off Phone After Set Period Of Time
Aug 4, 2013Any app that will automatically shutoff my Samsung S4 after a set period of time?
What I use this for is I may be listening to a Netflix or HBO GO movie (yes I know, "listening") and I want the phone to shutoff after 30 minutes.
I was having a hard time finding any app that does this. Google searches just showed me results of shutdown problems, and the apps I came across were to reboot the phone.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Notifications Keep Phone Awake
Dec 1, 2009Shut off and restarted my phone at 2pm. Took about 2 mins to start up. Looked at awake time - just under three minutes (100%). Locked the screen and waited until 3pm to check the awake time. At 3pm my awake time was about 3 minutes (5%) AWESOME.
Shortly after, I missed a call. Green notification light was flashing so I check the notifications. Missed call and voicemail. I did not clear the notifications. Checked the awake time, still 5%. I locked the screen. No other notifications, calls, texts, emails, etc for the next hour and forty-five minutes, but my awake time was now one hour and forty-eight minutes (62%).
I did not clear the notifications from the missed call and the voice mail earlier, could that be keeping my phone awake? If so, that is absolutely ********. Is there a fix for this or some setting I am not aware of?

Apr 24, 2010Is there a simple way to enable / disable vibrate for the phone / notifications? I tried using the volume rocker, going to vibrate there. That works for the ringers, but not notifications. I mainly want to set / unset vibrate for gmail and Google Voice. I have tried various 3rd party apps like Volume Control / Audio Manager, but nothing seems to work consistently.

I am rooted, I have tried the new fresh and older versions, they slow my phone done, and it freezes all the time. I am on a rooted/stock version on 2.1 and would like to use live wall papers still? Do I have a chance? I don't want to just flash one of the lwp updates from the rom section without asking here.

Jun 10, 2010I posted a thread about my battery life earlier this week, and I thank all the for the help! Here is another issue I am having that may be related. My phone takes forever to charge. Example: used my phone heavily this morning from 5:30 am till around 9am. Came home, battery was down to 15% or so. Plugged it into the AC charger around 10am, went outside and mowed the yard, etc. Finally checked the phone around 4pm, and it was still charging. Battery was showing 90% or so. Shouldn't it fully charge in around 2 hours or less? I did some research and found some people having charging issues after they upgraded to 2.1, which I did right after I got the phone. I did check with my local RS where I got the phone, and the guy I spoke with has a Hero, and his does not do this. He suggested I go to a Sprint store and have them look at it.

Feb 1, 2010If I do the incorrect pattern enough times, will it lock me out of my Droid for an extended time period? How long? How many tries do I get? The reason I ask is because, the Droid (ANNOYINGLY) suffers from a slight lag when brought out of sleep mode. Basically EVERY TIME I try to wake it and quickly enter my pattern, I will be halfway through it and it will hit a lag spike I guess and stops reading that I am touching it, and the first half of the pattern I was entering will be counted as an incorrect pattern, and as I continue to finish the pattern, the second half will be counted as an incorrect pattern. Basically, I use up 2 tries, and I would hate for this to happen, and then I go to enter the actual pattern and I just make a mistake, and use my last try up. So do you get only 3 tries?

Mar 8, 2010I was wanting to get my MMS working on my Ntelos HTC Hero (CDMA) and have got it rooted and it is now running flips fresh Rom 2.0b. Where do I go to change the MMS Settings. If you go into EPST using ##000000# it only lets you change the MIN and MDN. If anyone would happen to have Ntelos's MMS setting that would also save me some time but is not needed as I can pull them from another phone.

May 19, 2010when i had the thearmo theme on fresh 2.0d, the vanilla lockscreen was different..you could press menu as many times as you wanted and it would NOT unlock (which is exactly what i want since i always have my phone in my pocket) you had to swipe...i took off the theme and installed vanilla lockscreen and if you hit menu twice it unlocks..i installed DC rom and same thing with the lockscreen (even tried a few themes that came on the dc updater) is there a setting for this or was this only possible with the thearmo theme? basically im looking for a lockscreen that you have to swipe to unlock (i dont want password or draw a pattern)

May 20, 2010I have been trying for hours now to get my HTC Hero phone upgraded to 2.1, but am still having problems. After fixing my HTC Sync issue, now I have the RUU Setup (2.1 Executable to upgrade) to deal with.
I try to open the executable file, both normally and as administrator, but all it would give me is a loading screen for about four seconds. The loading bar would go to the end, and then close down. The wizard does not pop up at all. Can I get any help with this? It's been four hours since I've tried doing this.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit

Dec 2, 2009I have the HTC Hero from Sprint. I am running the stock ROM from Sprint with the update that was released in Nov. Scenario:
Person X is in my contact list
I want sound file Y to play when I get a phone call from X
I want sound file Z to play when I get a text from X
(Note: For clarification Y and Z are not the same file. The sound file Z should be different depending on the person also. In other words can I set costume text alerts per person).
When you look at the contact in 'people' there is a setting for 'ring tone' I am not sure if this is just for incoming calls or if this is also for incoming texts from this person.
