I was wanting to get my MMS working on my Ntelos HTC Hero (CDMA) and have got it rooted and it is now running flips fresh Rom 2.0b. Where do I go to change the MMS Settings. If you go into EPST using ##000000# it only lets you change the MIN and MDN. If anyone would happen to have Ntelos's MMS setting that would also save me some time but is not needed as I can pull them from another phone.

View 9 Replies View Relatedwhen i had the thearmo theme on fresh 2.0d, the vanilla lockscreen was different..you could press menu as many times as you wanted and it would NOT unlock (which is exactly what i want since i always have my phone in my pocket) you had to swipe...i took off the theme and installed vanilla lockscreen and if you hit menu twice it unlocks..i installed DC rom and same thing with the lockscreen (even tried a few themes that came on the dc updater) is there a setting for this or was this only possible with the thearmo theme? basically im looking for a lockscreen that you have to swipe to unlock (i dont want password or draw a pattern)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been trying for hours now to get my HTC Hero phone upgraded to 2.1, but am still having problems. After fixing my HTC Sync issue, now I have the RUU Setup (2.1 Executable to upgrade) to deal with.
I try to open the executable file, both normally and as administrator, but all it would give me is a loading screen for about four seconds. The loading bar would go to the end, and then close down. The wizard does not pop up at all. Can I get any help with this? It's been four hours since I've tried doing this.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
I did some searching and couldn't find an answer. I'm trying to get an image set as a background, but it will only allow me to select a small portion of the image. Is there any way that I can set the complete image as the background?
Also, Ive been lurking these forums for a while and thanks to you guys, I figured out how to root my phone and flash a custom ROM. LOVE this site.
I've looked around my phone some, but not extensively. Can't seem to find a way to set it, is there a way or am I shit outta luck?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Hero from Sprint. I am running the stock ROM from Sprint with the update that was released in Nov. Scenario:
Person X is in my contact list
I want sound file Y to play when I get a phone call from X
I want sound file Z to play when I get a text from X
(Note: For clarification Y and Z are not the same file. The sound file Z should be different depending on the person also. In other words can I set costume text alerts per person).
When you look at the contact in 'people' there is a setting for 'ring tone' I am not sure if this is just for incoming calls or if this is also for incoming texts from this person.
Anyone using the most current Dolphin Browser? I can't find anywhere to set my own home page... Am I missing something?

View 9 Replies View RelatedHow can I setup my apps to download to the SD card without having to fash a custom rom? I've tried a few roms here and there but nothing really caught my attention long enough to stick with them.
I read somewhere about booting into recovery and partitioning my sd card from ext2 to ext3 or something like that, but when I go into recovery I don't see that option.
after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

I recently rooted my phone and was wondering how to install custom themes and lock screens for my hero. I am new to this as the title implies, so a link/instructions on how to install/create these would be what I'm looking for. View 1 Replies View Relatediv heard ppl who downloaded android 2.2 online and installed it themselves on there phone since its not being offered ota. but im wondering if its safe? the phone is not actually getting 2.2 ever, so doing this would be my own choice. but im wondering if it will run smoothly, better than 2.1 update 1, and if there will be any problems or if anything that may not work because of compatability problems with the phone. because some people have said that 2.2 isnt being released to the hero because the phone is not physically capeable of it do to software and hardware (such as space ram speeds etc.), and others have said they installed it themselves and it works fine, that its actually made to run using less space then 2.1 making it better.

The only tome I had any frustrations was getting the clips unhooked also removing the cracked piece from the super strong adhesive. I know this sounds crazy, but the absolute #1 thing I need is Internet sharing and tethering capability; even more so than a phone itself. I must be able to connect my phone to my laptop, either by usb or bluetooth, and have it working in less than 30 seconds each time. I currently run Ubuntu 9.4 and Windows Vista/XP. All I really need this phone for is GMail, Google Voice, Google Turn-by-Turn, Web browsing and a few core apps like SplashID and Evernote.
Does the Hero have all these "core" features? Is there anything the EVO has, in terms of software, that the Hero doesn't? Is there anything that is *really missing* from the Hero that the EVO has?
