I am having bluetooth issues in regards to turning off BT and re-syncing. I would like a USB to 3.5 adapter for the Sprint Hero with a charger so I can simply charge and play music from my AUX jack in the center console. Once with a remote would be even snazzier.

Is it okay to charge the Sprint HTC Hero with a Blackberry charger? They are both listed as using MINI-USB ports but when you look at the actual plug, they look different. The Blackberry charger does fit, and charges, but i was just wondering if anyone had any issues. I went to the sprint store and asked them, but they said that they "heard" it would mess things up. But obviously they just wanted me to buy a car charger from them.
View 8 Replies View RelatedHas anybody had issues with this? I've had my Hero for a week, and I purchased a Sprint car charger for it. It was working fine until today. It seems that the connection is a bit off...the phone has to be laying down in the passenger seat to charge. When I pick it up or move it around, it doesn't charge. Is this going to cause problems down the road? And why would it be doing this after only a week?

(1)For some odd reason my Incredible will not charge when the USB adapter is attached to the charger that came with the phone anymore.
(2)As an alternative, I used an DC adapter that accepts a USB. Now, when plugged into my car, there are no problems. However when I attach the DC adapter to an AC/DC adapter that plugs into a normal wall socket, I cannot use the touch screen. Is this an issue w/ the kind of current entering the phone?
Is there a dock for the hero (or adjustable for mini usb phones) that will charge your device and act as a fm modulator.I've seen one for the Iphone made by belkin...but have yet to see a similar device for other phones.

Does anyone make a charger for the battery alone like the Instinct use to have? I loved being able to have two batteries and being able to charge one while using the other and it was small enough to take with you and used USB for it's charging source.

View 7 Replies View RelatedAnyone else have screen issues with a different brand charger? I use a blackberry at work and it seems when I use that one, it is the only time I lose all screen functionality. It starts going haywire. If I touch the A key, it will select the N or something completely off the wall. If I unplug it, wait about 60 seconds, it works again. Wonder if anyone else has an issue with other brand chargers? Going to toss this one but thought I'd let people know in case they run into the same issue.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an old T-Mobile (oem) mini usb car charger from my G1 days.So, I bought a mini to micro adapter, which is from Motorola that the reviews say work well with the original Droid for car charging.It won't charge the X.I even tried turning the car on, thinking it might need a few more volts.I tested the mini to micro adapter with a usb cable from my computer & it will charge and connect.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt seems like I have to jiggle any charger just right to get my phone to recognize the charger as plugged in. It never used to do it, but I think I may know what caused it. I was worried when I originally bought the 'Sprint' car charger and tried it for the first time (WAY over priced, but I figured better safe than sorry ). Compared to the included USB and a/c chargers, the Sprint car charger barely fit in the unit, and I mean it took effort to get it plugged in. I thought that was an intended feature, so that the phone didn't accidentally unplug if I picked up the phone while driving (like how the Razor charger used to fall out, if the phone was held sideways)So it seems that the Sprint brand car charger messed stretched the port inside my phone. Now the USB charger and the a/c and the car charger all have to be plugged in 'just right' to charge. I guess I'm going to have to risk swapping out for a phone that may not be in the perfect condition of my current phone Because, although I love it, it's of little use it it doesn't have any power.
In fact, last night before going to bed, I plugged my phone into the USB charger. I set it just right, held my breath, and left it on the desk charging. This morning I woke up to find my phone COMPLETELY DEAD with the USB plugged in... So on my way to school I tried to charge my phone via the car charger, I set it 'just right' but then if I hit a bump in the road the charge would stop, and then maybe restart after the next bump. And god forbid I answered a phone call, because that would disable the charging every time. So right now I have the phone charged at 5% sitting next to me, connected to my computer and intermittently charging via the USB cable. I really DO NOT want to swap out this phone for another Moment because everything else on it works. The GPS is fine, the battery is fine, all of it. And now it's wrecked because I wanted to take the 'safe' route using Sprint's car charger.
What car charger can i order that charges as fast as the wall charger, can someone provide a link?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently received my Hero's upgrade to 2.1 and have been very happy with the Google Navigation software! However, it's an obviously big drain on the battery, what with requiring GPS and all, so I bought a generic USB car charger from eBay for 99p. It does indeed charge the phone, but not fast enough! I even get an error on the screen telling me that the charge is not enough to stop my battery level falling.
So my question is, are all usb chargers the same? I notice it's also a very slow charge from the PC too and takes a few hours to charge the phone, whereas it only takes 45 mins or so from a wall socket. Can anyone confirm that if I spent ?20 on a 'decent' car charger it will charge fast enough to actually charge the phone while using Google Navigation?..............
Just read that some mobile phone battery chargers use power, even when there no phone connected to charge up. Does this apply to the charger for the Hero? I currently use a electrical timer switch for the Hero charger, but, am I wasting my time doing that?

Are genuine ones actually worth getting given the difference in price? I feel like in the 3 months I've had my phone the battery life has gone really bad but it could be because I have used it as a satnav a lot and had it plugged into my car even maybe when it didn't need charging.

When I first got my Hero and charged it up, and the second time I recharged the battery, everything was fine. However then the charger started playing up and the battery wasn't charging properly and eventually the battery went completely dead and the charger stopped working altogether.
I took the phone and charger into an Orange store and they confirmed the charger wasn't working, and gave me a new one (which they checked worked in store). So I took the phone home and again, the charger worked fine for a couple of uses but has now stopped working again.
Has anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing the charger to stop working?
Why can't I find a charger for an extra battery? As fast as the battery drains on these phones, it is a pain to have to plug in the whole phone to charge.

View 29 Replies View RelatedI am using the OEM charger on my Dinc and nothing else. I randomly get a message something like, "The charger you are using is not compatible with your device. Remove the charger now to avoid damage to your phone". I have not used anything other than the OEM charger ever. It isn't loose or frayed or bent strangely. It also seems to charge even though the message pops up. For now, I'm using my computer's USB port to charge it but man, that's SLOOOOOOOOW. It has done it since I first got the phone and before I had even installed my first app. It also does it after a factory reset and reprogram. Customer service is sending an aftermarket wall charger free of charge until I can get an OEM unit as they are obviously out of stock.

after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
