Gmail app stopped working and syncing today. if i manually press the refresh button it crashes and the message that gives me is "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" and i press force close button cause thats is my only option. Anybody has the same problem?

after going quite some time without any gmail issues, it's back again. My gmail account has suddenly stopped fetching my emails. Of course this happens when I'm away from home with no access to my gmail account other than my hero. When I go to my gmail webpage and settings on my hero, I noticed that there wasn't the option to manually fetch mail. Then I remembered that you had to change the gmail address to http instead of https due to some security issue they had. But when I try to do this via Dolphin on the hero, I can't seem to find a way to change the web address to http.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recieved an error two days ago saying "out of disk space". After restoring my phone to factory the ability to receive MMS/SMS went kaput! Surprisingly I can send but not receive messages. I was on the phone with Sprint for hours with to technicians. One of the techs implied that some of the early batch of phones from Best Buy have this issue. This is just one of the techs viewpoint. I am going to swap the phone today and see if it resolves the issue. I switched to Sprint specifically for TEXT so this could be a deal breaker. More to follow.
View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently my Phonefusion voicemail stopped working. I don't think that it's related to the 2.1 update, because it was working fine until a few days ago. It seems that when people call me, after 4 or 5 rings, it goes to voicemail, but my voicemail greeting does not come on, and therefore people are not aware that their call is in voicemail. They just think that I've picked up. And then when I try to retrieve/listen to my voicemail, there is just this buzzing sound.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night I was bored and browsing through my soundboards looking for a new ringtone. I was opening and closing apps, running task killer, if I thought it necessary. Everything was fine, until all of a sudden my media volume stopped working. On screen, while I'm playing media, I can pull the volume up and down, but no sound comes out. The Alarm volume, and ringer volume continue to work. So this morning I snooped around the forums and decided to reset my phone. All was going well, until I accidentally played some mp3's that were on my SD card. Now the media volume has stopped working again and when I turn on my phone, my music app has attached itself to that screen that you have to pull down to log in.
I didn't request that, and can't find a way to turn that off in the settings. To be honest, I am a new user. I've had my hero for two weeks, and I'd love to know that my problems are user error and not a faulty phone. I've also re-downloaded task killer and am wondering if that was a bad choice. I'm still at the point of just playing with my phone: launching apps, installing, uninstalling, etc, and it seemed like a good idea. In a worst case scenario, I'm thinking of deleting the mp3's and doing another reset. But if I have to keep doing this regularly, the exercise will get a little old.
I used to get stuff like "turn left onto such and such street." Now I get "such and such street" and I have to look up to see whether the arrow is left or right. So, I checked settings. I'm on "full audio." But, I set it to instructions only, saved settings, even rebooted the phone, then reopened the app, but no change. I set it back to full audio, saved, reboot, nothing. Still not getting full prompts, the way it used to.. NOTHING changed, that I can figure out. It just stopped working properly on Friday. I'm running Fresh 1.1 rom, but I flashed that about 2 weeks ago and the navigation prompts were working fine .. until Friday.

If I try to use it I get a popup that says: Sorry - The application of Camera (process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. The button below says 'Force close'. What could I have done? How do I fix it? Also my battery life at the same time has gone from acceptable to horrendous. Is this related or coincidence?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I applied the fix for the battery life in the other thread posted here last week. Using chompsms, my battery life has improved significantly. However, the fix stopped working today.
I am not using messages and am using chompsms. However, by noon today, my battery life was at 50%, whereas normally it's at 80.
Now the weird thing is, the uptime of the phone is still very low (15%ish). However, using spare parts--> battery usage --> partial wake usage, I found that the Dialer was using an incredible amount of battery -the exact same phenomoneon in the original issue. So, it seems that the fix has stopped working and battery life is low again, but the phone still recognizes the phone as going into standby.
Lately, every time I startup or re-boot my phone, I get the following error message right after startup.

So I've never used Gmail before and I'm playing around with it. I've sent two emails and both have been sitting in my outbox for over 5 minutes. Is there normally this long of a delay in sending email with the Gmail app and is there a way to change it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe first one the flashlight led stopped working in any app. It was returned. Now its replacement has another issue with the camera. I'm getting blocky colourful pixelation when the phone is on a gprs connection and I use the camera. At least that didn't happen on the first one. I'm getting seriously fed up with HTC. Will I get one that works properly? Might swap it for Samsung galaxy, but I know I'd miss sense. S there a fix for the camera bug? Updated software? It takes a perfect picture. It just looks wrong before you click the shutter.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy alarm was working fine now the notification is no longer sounding. All other sounds, sms gmail email etc are ok. If you try and change the sound to a stock sound they don't sound either (so I don't think its to do with the SD card). Any ideas?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC hero on Orange last week and it's great - everything worked great, but after a day the headphone jack stopped working: when I plug in the headphones they aren't recognised by the device, eg : music will carry on playing on the speaker instead of playing in headphones. Happens with other headphones too not just the supplied ones. I've reset the device with factory settings but no joy. Was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem? Orange have agreed to exchange the device but only when they have new devices in stock later on in the week. Was wondering if a firmware re-install might fix it but not sure how to do it and if would be a waste of time if it's a hardware issue.

I set an mp3 to be my ringtone the other day, and when i did it, I had a play with the trimmer, but just decided to use the whole thing in the end. The point being that the trimmer was definitely working. Today I went to change to a different MP3, and wanted to trim, but the trimmer is not working. It seems to think the mp3 is 0 seconds long:
The big "timer" at the top shows 00:00, as does the small one to the right, next to the stopwatch. Both "speech bubbles" above either end of the time bar are empty and greyed out Timer to the left of the bar says 00:00 Lefthand slider (with the 6 dots) is green, but right hand one is grey.
Vista Ultimate 32 bit. after installing htc sync 2.04 (and any other version I can find). I get capi_worker module stopped working message on reboot.

For some reason downloads from the market has stopped working... I haven't been able to download anything from the market in the last hour... The download just sits at 'Starting Download' but never starts... I heard that you have to hack/root your phone to download market apps if you're using a European or Telus Hero in the states but when i first got the phone I was downloading apps just fine so I figured that was false... any idea how to go about finding out what's wrong? it still charges but i don't get the notification that usb is connected or the option to mount the phone. meaning i can swap files with the laptop.
m using the usb cable that came with the phone.
is there a setting i may have altered by mistake that could cause this to happen?

If I use Gps Status app, it shows a compass and shows how fast I'm moving in what ever direction, but for some reason google maps can't seem to lock on. I've tried hard and soft resets, turning triangulation on off, GPS on off.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had the Hero since October 9 and never had a problem syncing my AOL email with my Hero. I have had it set to sync every 15 minutes and all worked well. About a week ago I started noticing issues with not getting my messages consistently and I started seeing a message below the emails saying "Get More Messages ____ messages total on server" (I don't recall seeing this message before). If the number of messages on the server is greater than what I have on my phone, I can manually sync and they will down load. Sometimes my messages will sync, but not consistently. As I type this I see that I was showing 9 messages and the server had 11 so I manually synced and two more messages downloaded to the phone but they were from over an hour ago. I have tried deleting the account and re-setting it up but that doesn't seem to correct the issue.
(BTW, my exchange messages still sync fine).
