Vista Ultimate 32 bit. after installing htc sync 2.04 (and any other version I can find). I get capi_worker module stopped working message on reboot.
I've tried all the options I can find regarding adding com ports - updating sony drivers etc. anyone had this - got a working fix?

My HTC Hero just stopped working, it will not turn on or charge or do anything. I was on my computer with it sitting on the desk working fine then when I went to check it, nothing. It has no power to it at all. Does anyone know what this problem is?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having this problem? afer a factory reset to try and fix my sms problem my headphones no longer work, ive tried known working headphones and they dont either, the headphones work on other devices. the 3.5mm jack seems to no longer work on my hero gutted.. i use this alot, well, used it alot. anyone else have this problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy alarm was working fine now the notification is no longer sounding. All other sounds, sms gmail email etc are ok. If you try and change the sound to a stock sound they don't sound either (so I don't think its to do with the SD card). Any ideas?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC hero on Orange last week and it's great - everything worked great, but after a day the headphone jack stopped working: when I plug in the headphones they aren't recognised by the device, eg : music will carry on playing on the speaker instead of playing in headphones. Happens with other headphones too not just the supplied ones. I've reset the device with factory settings but no joy. Was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem? Orange have agreed to exchange the device but only when they have new devices in stock later on in the week. Was wondering if a firmware re-install might fix it but not sure how to do it and if would be a waste of time if it's a hardware issue.

I set an mp3 to be my ringtone the other day, and when i did it, I had a play with the trimmer, but just decided to use the whole thing in the end. The point being that the trimmer was definitely working. Today I went to change to a different MP3, and wanted to trim, but the trimmer is not working. It seems to think the mp3 is 0 seconds long:
The big "timer" at the top shows 00:00, as does the small one to the right, next to the stopwatch. Both "speech bubbles" above either end of the time bar are empty and greyed out Timer to the left of the bar says 00:00 Lefthand slider (with the 6 dots) is green, but right hand one is grey.
For some reason downloads from the market has stopped working... I haven't been able to download anything from the market in the last hour... The download just sits at 'Starting Download' but never starts... I heard that you have to hack/root your phone to download market apps if you're using a European or Telus Hero in the states but when i first got the phone I was downloading apps just fine so I figured that was false... any idea how to go about finding out what's wrong? I'm on WiFi...

it still charges but i don't get the notification that usb is connected or the option to mount the phone. meaning i can swap files with the laptop.
m using the usb cable that came with the phone.
is there a setting i may have altered by mistake that could cause this to happen?
I recieved an error two days ago saying "out of disk space". After restoring my phone to factory the ability to receive MMS/SMS went kaput! Surprisingly I can send but not receive messages. I was on the phone with Sprint for hours with to technicians. One of the techs implied that some of the early batch of phones from Best Buy have this issue. This is just one of the techs viewpoint. I am going to swap the phone today and see if it resolves the issue. I switched to Sprint specifically for TEXT so this could be a deal breaker. More to follow.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently my Phonefusion voicemail stopped working. I don't think that it's related to the 2.1 update, because it was working fine until a few days ago. It seems that when people call me, after 4 or 5 rings, it goes to voicemail, but my voicemail greeting does not come on, and therefore people are not aware that their call is in voicemail. They just think that I've picked up. And then when I try to retrieve/listen to my voicemail, there is just this buzzing sound.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night I was bored and browsing through my soundboards looking for a new ringtone. I was opening and closing apps, running task killer, if I thought it necessary. Everything was fine, until all of a sudden my media volume stopped working. On screen, while I'm playing media, I can pull the volume up and down, but no sound comes out. The Alarm volume, and ringer volume continue to work. So this morning I snooped around the forums and decided to reset my phone. All was going well, until I accidentally played some mp3's that were on my SD card. Now the media volume has stopped working again and when I turn on my phone, my music app has attached itself to that screen that you have to pull down to log in.
I didn't request that, and can't find a way to turn that off in the settings. To be honest, I am a new user. I've had my hero for two weeks, and I'd love to know that my problems are user error and not a faulty phone. I've also re-downloaded task killer and am wondering if that was a bad choice. I'm still at the point of just playing with my phone: launching apps, installing, uninstalling, etc, and it seemed like a good idea. In a worst case scenario, I'm thinking of deleting the mp3's and doing another reset. But if I have to keep doing this regularly, the exercise will get a little old.
I used to get stuff like "turn left onto such and such street." Now I get "such and such street" and I have to look up to see whether the arrow is left or right. So, I checked settings. I'm on "full audio." But, I set it to instructions only, saved settings, even rebooted the phone, then reopened the app, but no change. I set it back to full audio, saved, reboot, nothing. Still not getting full prompts, the way it used to.. NOTHING changed, that I can figure out. It just stopped working properly on Friday. I'm running Fresh 1.1 rom, but I flashed that about 2 weeks ago and the navigation prompts were working fine .. until Friday.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Telus HTC Hero and for a few weeks now my GPS simply stopped working with google-maps. It keeps saying "can't find location". If I use Gps Status app, it shows a compass and shows how fast I'm moving in what ever direction, but for some reason google maps can't seem to lock on. I've tried hard and soft resets, turning triangulation on off, GPS on off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm tinkering with building and installing Android from source. Basically I've got it down fairly well, but I seem to have run into a bit of a problem with the wlan module, probably from HTC.
Having pulled the 2.6.27 kernel sources and built that with a .config pulled from the phone, and using that as the kernel image instead of the prebuilt one, I get the following wifi failure message in dmesg:
wlan: version magic '2.6.27-00205-gf2dabc0 preempt mod_unload ARMv6 ' should be '2.6.27-00392-g8312baf preempt mod_unload ARMv6 '
probably because the .config I pulled from the phone has:
CONFIG_LOCALVERSION="-00392-g8312baf"
So I rebuilt with the '00205' localversion and now I get in dmesg:

I'm clearly getting an obsolete wlan module somehow, Any ideas for how I can get a wlan module that goes with the '00392' kernel would be appreciated.
So I applied the fix for the battery life in the other thread posted here last week. Using chompsms, my battery life has improved significantly. However, the fix stopped working today.
I am not using messages and am using chompsms. However, by noon today, my battery life was at 50%, whereas normally it's at 80.
Now the weird thing is, the uptime of the phone is still very low (15%ish). However, using spare parts--> battery usage --> partial wake usage, I found that the Dialer was using an incredible amount of battery -the exact same phenomoneon in the original issue. So, it seems that the fix has stopped working and battery life is low again, but the phone still recognizes the phone as going into standby.
It seems recently that Pandora refuses to work, its always "unexpectedly stopped working and force close" etc etc. Any suggestions why?

Today, I rooted and installed Fresh 2.3.3 and I'm loving it so far - in fact, I'm using wireless tether right now, as where I'm at, I have no internet yet. The thing is, I'm wondering how to overclock now. I've been attempting to read-up on it and it sounds a little complicated, almost as though I need to rewipe my phone and set everything up again. Is this the case?

What exactly is a module remover and why do I need to do it? Moreover, I didn't see an option to flash a new kernel (maybe I just wasn't paying attention) when I was in the RA or whatever it's called. I'd love to get my Hero running a little bit quicker. Otherwise, I'm loving the thing so far.
Where can I find the "module remover" that I must flash prior to flashing 710 kernal to improve speed on Fresh Rom? Looked all over but can't find.

The ear speaker in my Evo stopped working, presumably after 2.2 upgrade. I cannot hear anything during phone call or when I listen to voice mail. When I turn on speaker or insert headphones - I hear fine.
I got this problem with one Evo and thought it was a hardware problem. Sprint exchanged it. Got the new Evo, upgraded to 2.2 and now the same issue. I did checked the ear speaker before upgrade and it was working.
Hard reset did not help. I checked all the settings I could.
I found on another forum that someone had similar issue. Anyone else? Any suggestions?
I've had my Desire for a couple of weeks now, and I love it! Have spent FAR too many evening customizing it and playing with it and even taking it along to the pub one evening and completely ignoring everyone else there because it had my undivided attention (yes, I know, very sad). Anyhow, very recently (as in, the last couple of days), MMS has stopped working. It first happened on Friday (I think) when I received one from a friend (well, I assumed it was one!) using Handcent. It showed up from the person with a Download button and when I pressed that, it changed to a Downloading which then did nothing. When I came out of and went back into Handcent, repeated those steps, and got the same outcome. I thought it was something to do with Handcent not being configured correctly for MMS - I hadn't sent or received one since installing and using Handcent - I had sent a received a couple using the default Messages app, which then subsequently were pulled through and displayed in Handcent fine. I thought nothing of it at the time, but I've just been playing with it again this afternoon and I can't get anything out of it. I've been trying in both Handcent and the default app to send a simple picture to myself, and it's not sending.
It did send once, for some reason, as I turned the phone off completely, I saw it suddenly send in the background and then low and behold when I booted it up, it was there - but even that hasn't worked this time?! In both Handcent and Messages the picture will sit there with the little spinning circle icon, doing nothing. In the "undelivered messages" section of both clients, they both report that that particular message is failing, but if I try a re-send it still just does nothing. I just can't think what has changed/why it isn't working - could it be Handcent? That's the only thing I can think (that would effect messaging) that could have caused a problem? Another thing is, although I've found the message centre number for my network (o2) in the settings for the default client, and I've found the Access Point details for O2 WAP and O2 MMS (which got downloaded automatically when I first set up the phone) I can't seem to find a way to reset them - I don't want to hit the Delete button on them if it is just left blank - is there a way of re-downloading the settings from the network? (or do I have to make a note of them and input them manually?!) I don't particularly want to have to do a factory reset for this either! It just seems as though, although the settings are there for MMS, neither application seems to be able to connection to the MMS-specific servers and whatnot!
Everything has been working for just about a week and now for some reason the Emulator has stopped working. I am running Vista Ultimate, Intel DualCore E? 4G memory.

I shut down my PC (running Ubuntu 8.10, fully updated) overnight and when I booted the following day, 'adb devices' failed to recognize my stock, OTA-updated, RC30 G1. I followed the instructions listed here:

To answer some preliminary questions:
- Yes, I have my phone on.
- It's on a USB 2.0 port.
- Yes, it sees the emulator(s), but not my device.
- Yes, "USB debugging" is enabled on the phone (and I tried toggling it).
- I've rebooted both the phone and the PC.
- I'm using the latest the 1.0_r2 SDK from the site.
- I'm on 64-bit Ubuntu, but it also fails to work in my 32-bit VM (that also previously worked)
All credit given to xeudoxus on droidforums. I noticed the other day a forum member BigRick10 posted a link so that us non-verizon customers could use NFL Mobile on our phones. Since then NFL Mobile has stopped working for many of the people that of downloaded it. This is what you have to do to get it working again:
Uninstall NFL Mobile from your phone.
Go to this link on your phone (yes I know thats the same link given by BigRick10 but once downloaded it works again).

Please do not use the text notifications, it will not work and send your texts to another number (MobiTV checks the number against the db at Verizon to see if the number is active, so a dummy phone is used). Also I would like to add, I noticed that one of the moderators closed the thread that BigRick10 started because the moderator thought this was piracy. This app is FREE to download on Verizon. Verizon just makes its customers have Vcast inorder to use this app but the app is free to download. The link I provided will not work on Verizon phones. There is another link for Verizon customers to get around paying for Vcast but your on your own with that one.
My trackpad suddenly stopped working, I haven't dropped it or anything like that so I don't think it is a hardware problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI searched but didn't find anything like this. Wifi on my Evo just doesn't work anymore. I've restarted, cycled all the radios (3G, 4G, BT, etc) on and off thinking something might be hung somewhere, but nothing seems to work. I told it to "forget" my router and then re-entered the password, but it still will not connect to my router either at work or at home. The service will start, but it will not connect to any networks. I'm sure it's some setting or perhaps some app I installed, but I figured while I dig deeper into the issue, it couldn't hurt to start a thread here and perhaps get some suggestions. this is nuts, but I hit the sunken "reset" button on the router and now everything works great again. I'm pleased to know there was nothing wrong with the phone, but perplexed about the router. I guess I'll have to dig into the router settings and see if I can figure out what went wrong.
