Samsung Moment :: Touchscreen Stopped Working?
Sep 1, 2010Earlier my phone was playing Pandora and acting fine, but I couldn't unlock it because the touch screen wasn't responding. I had just came in from the rain and my fingertips were a little wet, so I figured it wasn't registering because of that, even though it usually handles moisture on hands just fine.
After my hands wee completely dried, the phone still wouldn't respond, and all that works is the sidekeys, send, menu, and end buttons. Nothing on the screen, nor the Home, Menu, or Back buttons work. I tried removing the battery a few times, and eventually the phone wouldn't even turn back on. After trying a hard reset, it was able to turn on and finally booted up after about 10 minutes of just a SAMSUNG logo, but the screen still won't work. It turned off on it's own after a few minutes and now won't turn on again.
Are there any solutions to this, or do I have to go to Sprint and have them fix it? I have full insurance on the phone, which I assume would cover this, but I'm working all day today and won't have time to go to Sprint even if I had to until tomorrow, so I'm hoping there's something I could try here, or from the boot menu.
Samsung Moment :: Yahoo Email Just Stopped Working
Nov 26, 2009When I first got my Moment, I couldn't get my Yahoo email to work under the "email" app.
I tried the following settings and it miraculously worked! I've been getting my Yahoo email on my Moment flawlessly for the past month: Go to manual setup > IMAP account and change to these settings....
INCOMING
Imap server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
port - 143
security type - TLS (if available)
OUTGOING
SMTP Server- smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
port - 25
security type - TLS (if available)
* check Require sign-in
However, my Yahoo email just stopped working on my Moment yesterday (it won't load new emails into my inbox on my phone)! It keeps telling me "username or password incorrect".. WTH!
Is anyone else having this issue recently? Could this be a new change that Yahoo made?
Does anyone else have any ideas of what the next step could be to resolve this? I'll bet my turkey that if I called Sprint Tech Support they would refer me to Yahoo, and if I called Yahoo, they'd refer me to Sprint!
Also, if you are using the same settings that I've been using and it is still working okay for you, please be so kind as to advise- so I know that that setting above is still working, and it is more likely just an issue with my Sprint Account.
Samsung Moment : No More Phone Calls - Stopped Working
Feb 23, 2010My phone stopped working properly today, right after installing Astrid update(I don't think it's related but it's the only change of late). I'm getting no sound on calls. No ring, no voice, and nothing happens when I try to go to speaker, the button doesn't register to press even. I've tried pulling various apps and going into diagnostic mode. On speaker test diagnostics freezes up. I just got done doing a factory reset to no avail. I'm going to hit up the repair center tomorrow, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I'm browsing this forum fairly often and don't recall having seen the same problem although it's quite possible I've missed it.

Oct 26, 2009I recieved an error two days ago saying "out of disk space". After restoring my phone to factory the ability to receive MMS/SMS went kaput! Surprisingly I can send but not receive messages. I was on the phone with Sprint for hours with to technicians. One of the techs implied that some of the early batch of phones from Best Buy have this issue. This is just one of the techs viewpoint. I am going to swap the phone today and see if it resolves the issue. I switched to Sprint specifically for TEXT so this could be a deal breaker. More to follow.

Apr 7, 2010Gmail app stopped working and syncing today. if i manually press the refresh button it crashes and the message that gives me is "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" and i press force close button cause thats is my only option. Anybody has the same problem?

Jun 3, 2010Recently my Phonefusion voicemail stopped working. I don't think that it's related to the 2.1 update, because it was working fine until a few days ago. It seems that when people call me, after 4 or 5 rings, it goes to voicemail, but my voicemail greeting does not come on, and therefore people are not aware that their call is in voicemail. They just think that I've picked up. And then when I try to retrieve/listen to my voicemail, there is just this buzzing sound.

Dec 15, 2009Last night I was bored and browsing through my soundboards looking for a new ringtone. I was opening and closing apps, running task killer, if I thought it necessary. Everything was fine, until all of a sudden my media volume stopped working. On screen, while I'm playing media, I can pull the volume up and down, but no sound comes out. The Alarm volume, and ringer volume continue to work. So this morning I snooped around the forums and decided to reset my phone. All was going well, until I accidentally played some mp3's that were on my SD card. Now the media volume has stopped working again and when I turn on my phone, my music app has attached itself to that screen that you have to pull down to log in.
I didn't request that, and can't find a way to turn that off in the settings. To be honest, I am a new user. I've had my hero for two weeks, and I'd love to know that my problems are user error and not a faulty phone. I've also re-downloaded task killer and am wondering if that was a bad choice. I'm still at the point of just playing with my phone: launching apps, installing, uninstalling, etc, and it seemed like a good idea. In a worst case scenario, I'm thinking of deleting the mp3's and doing another reset. But if I have to keep doing this regularly, the exercise will get a little old.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Navigation Voice Guidance Stopped Working
Feb 7, 2010I used to get stuff like "turn left onto such and such street." Now I get "such and such street" and I have to look up to see whether the arrow is left or right. So, I checked settings. I'm on "full audio." But, I set it to instructions only, saved settings, even rebooted the phone, then reopened the app, but no change. I set it back to full audio, saved, reboot, nothing. Still not getting full prompts, the way it used to.. NOTHING changed, that I can figure out. It just stopped working properly on Friday. I'm running Fresh 1.1 rom, but I flashed that about 2 weeks ago and the navigation prompts were working fine .. until Friday.

Oct 24, 2009So I applied the fix for the battery life in the other thread posted here last week. Using chompsms, my battery life has improved significantly. However, the fix stopped working today.
I am not using messages and am using chompsms. However, by noon today, my battery life was at 50%, whereas normally it's at 80.
Now the weird thing is, the uptime of the phone is still very low (15%ish). However, using spare parts--> battery usage --> partial wake usage, I found that the Dialer was using an incredible amount of battery -the exact same phenomoneon in the original issue. So, it seems that the fix has stopped working and battery life is low again, but the phone still recognizes the phone as going into standby.

Nov 22, 2009There's a thread similar to this on one of the Hero forums. I tried to stop using the task managers on the hero, but I noticed a quite a bit of lag once stuff kept building up. On the Moment, I was running into several issues with apps, and I figured it was due to the task manager (i use advance task manager). So to test my theory I stopped using the task manager and the device works as it should. What i found was that even with a lot of usage, this device does not slow down. Not sure if it's the lack of the sense ui (i'm using open home), the fast processor, both or what but this phone can handle everything I'm throwing at it.My advice, stop using whatever task killer you're using. One less thing to worry about makes for a better phone experience.

Nov 27, 2009I have a new Samsung Moment phone and keep getting the error Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. This error does not seem to have a trigger, just happens when the phone is sitting there. I have tried a master reset of the phone and it did not resolve the problem. I've checked all contacts and I do not see any problems with them but I am not real sure what to look for as it doesn't error out on any particular contact. Facebook is not used on the phone so it's not a sync problem there. Are there any logs on the phone I can look at to pinpoint where this might be coming from? Or should I just take the phone back to sprint for a new one?

Nov 18, 2010Looks like my accelerometer is broken. I've checked the orientation flag and it is on. As a test tried compass and krazy Kart racing- both not working.
What I think happened is that I used the new Google maps today- and the phone got really hot. Suspect I've cooked it.
Battery pull as well as power off -no joy. Is a factory reset worth trying?

I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. There are no scratches or rub marks on it, never been dropped and I have reset it to Factory Specs via the SECURITY MENU and the ESN is clear and ready to be activated on your SPRINT account.Please email me at sy@rayzel.com if you are interested. Oct 24, 2010Didn't do anything different. All of a sudden it stopped working. It sees it and connects to it, but can't browse the web or update from other apps, etc. Rebooted phone and told it to "forget" my connection and reset it. Nothing helped. Other computers in the house connect fine.

Apr 21, 2010Since I've installed MustyMod my GPS stopped working. The problem is, to be more precise, is that my Galaxy isn't seeing any satellites at all. When using an app like GPS Test, I can see that the GPS icon is flashing, and GPS status is on and everything seems to be in working order but no satellites are in view, even after hours of leaving the device in the open under clear sky.
At first I thought it was a bug in MustyMod, but then I installed Galaxo 1.6.2 and the problem remains. Any ideas? or did I somehow managed to brick my GPS?
