Anyone else having this problem? afer a factory reset to try and fix my sms problem my headphones no longer work, ive tried known working headphones and they dont either, the headphones work on other devices. the 3.5mm jack seems to no longer work on my hero gutted.. i use this alot, well, used it alot. anyone else have this problem?

My daughter's ZTE Supreme suddenly stopped working tonight. She uses a pattern on her touch screen to unlock it, and the touch screen wasn't registering. When I took it to look at it, I noticed that the phone was overheating. I popped the battery, let it cool down completely, and tried again. Same thing - unresponsive touch screen and it pretty much immediately overheated.

It sees it and connects to it, but can't browse the web or update from other apps, etc. Rebooted phone and told it to "forget" my connection and reset it. Nothing helped. Other computers in the house connect fine.

I'm on vodafone and when i try to refresh the news feed, i keep getting a "an error had occurred while fetching data (null)" message appearing. It's the original Facebook app on the phone, and i've never had any problems with it before, so am a little confused why it has suddenly stopped working. I haven't changed any settings or anything.

My router is still working and my laptop is working just fine through wireless so nor sure what the problem is. I tried turning the wireles@ on phone off and on.. no change. View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen my hero was on 1.5, normal stereo headphones attached worked a-ok if I used the toggleheadset app. Now I have upgraded to 2.1, when I attach the headphones it automatically detects them but sends the volume down to vibrate... if I try to increase the volume using the volume switch it either tries to increase but forces it back down again or shoots up to maximum... Anyone else had this issue and how did you resolve it? I have removed the toggle app above, and I have restarted the phone. Also, when I attached the headphones sometimes the phone just goes into vibrate mode and stays that way... i.e. it just continoulsy vibrates until I press the home key.

I have always received email notification before. I have notification allowed in gmail, email, and k9, and still no notification: I have to go into the application and do a manual refresh. I use a "@googlemail.com ". account on orange UK.
View 4 Replies View RelatedUp until several days ago/yesterday you could scroll through the home screens in a circular manner( ie swiping the finger in one direction while the last screen would be replaced by the first one). Now all the sudden I see that my screens are like between two walls, when you reach the right or the left end you can't continiue further.
Is this some change in the settings someone made accidentally?

My HTC Hero just stopped working, it will not turn on or charge or do anything. I was on my computer with it sitting on the desk working fine then when I went to check it, nothing. It has no power to it at all. Does anyone know what this problem is?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC hero on Orange last week and it's great - everything worked great, but after a day the headphone jack stopped working: when I plug in the headphones they aren't recognised by the device, eg : music will carry on playing on the speaker instead of playing in headphones. Happens with other headphones too not just the supplied ones. I've reset the device with factory settings but no joy. Was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem? Orange have agreed to exchange the device but only when they have new devices in stock later on in the week. Was wondering if a firmware re-install might fix it but not sure how to do it and if would be a waste of time if it's a hardware issue.

I set an mp3 to be my ringtone the other day, and when i did it, I had a play with the trimmer, but just decided to use the whole thing in the end. The point being that the trimmer was definitely working. Today I went to change to a different MP3, and wanted to trim, but the trimmer is not working. It seems to think the mp3 is 0 seconds long:
The big "timer" at the top shows 00:00, as does the small one to the right, next to the stopwatch. Both "speech bubbles" above either end of the time bar are empty and greyed out Timer to the left of the bar says 00:00 Lefthand slider (with the 6 dots) is green, but right hand one is grey.

For some reason downloads from the market has stopped working... I haven't been able to download anything from the market in the last hour... The download just sits at 'Starting Download' but never starts... I heard that you have to hack/root your phone to download market apps if you're using a European or Telus Hero in the states but when i first got the phone I was downloading apps just fine so I figured that was false... any idea how to go about finding out what's wrong? it still charges but i don't get the notification that usb is connected or the option to mount the phone. meaning i can swap files with the laptop.

I recieved an error two days ago saying "out of disk space". After restoring my phone to factory the ability to receive MMS/SMS went kaput! Surprisingly I can send but not receive messages. I was on the phone with Sprint for hours with to technicians. One of the techs implied that some of the early batch of phones from Best Buy have this issue. This is just one of the techs viewpoint. I am going to swap the phone today and see if it resolves the issue. I switched to Sprint specifically for TEXT so this could be a deal breaker. More to follow.

It seems that when people call me, after 4 or 5 rings, it goes to voicemail, but my voicemail greeting does not come on, and therefore people are not aware that their call is in voicemail. They just think that I've picked up. And then when I try to retrieve/listen to my voicemail, there is just this buzzing sound.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night I was bored and browsing through my soundboards looking for a new ringtone. I was opening and closing apps, running task killer, if I thought it necessary. Everything was fine, until all of a sudden my media volume stopped working. On screen, while I'm playing media, I can pull the volume up and down, but no sound comes out. The Alarm volume, and ringer volume continue to work. So this morning I snooped around the forums and decided to reset my phone. All was going well, until I accidentally played some mp3's that were on my SD card. Now the media volume has stopped working again and when I turn on my phone, my music app has attached itself to that screen that you have to pull down to log in.
I didn't request that, and can't find a way to turn that off in the settings. To be honest, I am a new user. I've had my hero for two weeks, and I'd love to know that my problems are user error and not a faulty phone. I've also re-downloaded task killer and am wondering if that was a bad choice. I'm still at the point of just playing with my phone: launching apps, installing, uninstalling, etc, and it seemed like a good idea. In a worst case scenario, I'm thinking of deleting the mp3's and doing another reset. But if I have to keep doing this regularly, the exercise will get a little old.
I used to get stuff like "turn left onto such and such street." Now I get "such and such street" and I have to look up to see whether the arrow is left or right. So, I checked settings. I'm on "full audio." But, I set it to instructions only, saved settings, even rebooted the phone, then reopened the app, but no change. I set it back to full audio, saved, reboot, nothing. Still not getting full prompts, the way it used to.. NOTHING changed, that I can figure out. It just stopped working properly on Friday. I'm running Fresh 1.1 rom, but I flashed that about 2 weeks ago and the navigation prompts were working fine .. until Friday.

If I use Gps Status app, it shows a compass and shows how fast I'm moving in what ever direction, but for some reason google maps can't seem to lock on. I've tried hard and soft resets, turning triangulation on off, GPS on off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I applied the fix for the battery life in the other thread posted here last week. Using chompsms, my battery life has improved significantly. However, the fix stopped working today.
I am not using messages and am using chompsms. However, by noon today, my battery life was at 50%, whereas normally it's at 80.
Now the weird thing is, the uptime of the phone is still very low (15%ish). However, using spare parts--> battery usage --> partial wake usage, I found that the Dialer was using an incredible amount of battery -the exact same phenomoneon in the original issue. So, it seems that the fix has stopped working and battery life is low again, but the phone still recognizes the phone as going into standby.
My GPS quit working yesterday in Ruidoso, NM. Was working great all weekend, even in the mountains. Yesterday morning, it refused to find my location. Rebooted several times (didn't remove battery-should have) but it never kicked in. Turned GPS off, but kept turning it on periodically just to check it on the drive back to Austin. When we got home, I checked it one more time and it was working? I'm very glad it's working, but just wonder why it stopped? I really missed it!

It always says im half mile to where i am, google maps/navigation doesnt work, and neither does any program i have that uses GPS. Always says the GPS Signal is not there.
