Apr 15, 2010I know how to remove widgets... you long press on them to move them/delete them. My problem is this: I don't know how to remove regular icons on the Hero. On the Moment, everything was simply long press to remove. On this, long pressing the application icons on my home screen(s) just opens the associated programs. I kind of wanted to move them around, I don't wanna have to delete a scene everytime I want to move one icon around.
In short: How do you move/delete application icons from the home screens? (long pressing doesn't work for me)

Feb 28, 2010From the People widget or "contacts" there is a tab that has Facebook "updates and events". While this is nice I would like to clear out the updates once I have seen them and can't for the life of me figure out how to do that. I don't use the auto update feature so when I press refresh I get everything which is fine but once I have seen them I would like to delete them off my Hero.

Also, there are a couple of new icons at the top of my home screen - an "E" inside a circle and after a phone call, I get a green circle in the notification bar.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Weather Disappearing On Home Screen
May 28, 2010Is it just me or is anybody else having problems with the weather disappearing from their home screen? It started after I upgraded to 2.1. Underneath the clock it just goes blank and i have to go into weather and refresh for it to come back. Then a little while later it will be blank again.

Jun 8, 2010I have it set up update hourly, and it will show it to be sunny, even until 8PM sometimes 9PM.It's not exactly sunny at that time of day, I'd more expect to see the moon by that time of evening.Is this just weird, or is it just using the "official" sunset time of 8 something and calling it sunny until then? I'm a very new Hero user.I'm within my 30 days, and very tempted to take my Hero back and get a Evo, but, don't want to spend the extra $$ for the Evo, and don't need the extra monthly expense either!

I heard that the Droid used to do this, and then some update messed it up, but then saw it going into landscape mode on the video they posted today of the Droid running 2.1.

Now everytime I back out to the Home screen a little transparent "window" displays with letters i first typed. I cant type new letters to display or even use the backspace key to erase. Oct 11, 2010I have an HTC Hero, rooted, latest Cyanogen with LauncherPro Plus. But I don't know if it's a rooted issue so I posted here. Sometimes scrolling slows to a crawl, sometimes it takes a minute to go back to the home screen, LauncherPro crashes a lot, the lock screen takes a few seconds to unlock. Other times all of that zips through. It's maddening About 24 megs of free storage on phone. What could it be? And the phone reboots a lot on its own also.

Mar 31, 2010I am designing a home screen widget. I ran this widget on a HTC Hero device, which has a screen of 320 pixels * 480 pixels with mdpi. It ran perfect on HTC Hero. The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels.Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device.I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing?
