Anyone else having problems with their contacts loading slowly? I am running fresh 2.3.3. If I understand it correctly, each time you select a contact, it actually 'downloads' the data from the 'google cloud'? Is there anyway to speed this up or just load the contacts on the SD card and it can more quickly pull it from the phone?

I have had the Droid Incredible for a month and a half now and my text messages are filling up. One girl I have 2500 messages from and the loading is pretty slow. Its pretty annoying waiting to reply and everything else on the phone is lightning fast so I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on how to have them speed up or settings that would help. Please tell me anything that would make these messages load faster.
P.S. I understand deleting the messages will make it fast but erasing them takes way too long and its annoying. Also i need a lot of my messages.
I changed roms after backing up the one I was using and the new rom didn't load all my contacts. So I wiped it again and tried to reload the same new rom. Got even less contacts. So I wiped that and tried to load the nandroid b/up and for some reason, I got the old rom I was using but it was like it was a fresh install of that rom. So I have to set everything up again *sigh*, but it still didn't load all my contacts. Oddly enough, the ones missing are the ones I use most frequently. A quick check on google mail shows they are still there. Any advice?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone was almost dead today so I just turned it off. When I got home and plugged it in and turned it back on I didn't have any service. It says no service. I have turned it on and off several times and have taken the battery out and put it back several times and nothing works. I have only had the phone for approximately 3 days. Anything I can do to fix it myself? I can't even pull up the phone pad or certain settings because I get an error message. I called technical support but because I can't get to the phone pad they can't help me.

Most reviews i've seen for Snesoid that have been positive, the person had something like the Evo or incredible. Is there anything i can do to make Snesoid run well? Does getting the paid version of snesoid help? Getting another phone is not a solution.
View 4 Replies View RelatedToday I finally upgraded to 2.2 and installed kaosfroyo. As with many other eris owners the camera app shuts out on me so I installed camera360 and I'm pretty happy with it. The only problem I have is the photo gallery and how stupid slow it is. It takes so long to load my pictures (which is pretty few) that my screen turns off after waiting. And when I go back into it, it attempts to reloads all the pictures again, just to have the screen turn off(again)! I never had this problem with 2.1 (xtrROM).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had 4-5 apps so far do this to me, and every once in a while another app does the same - instead of displaying its proper name, like ChompSMS or wpToGo, the name would switch to the Java version, such as com.p1.chompsms or com.roundhill.androidWP.wpAndroid.
The name change occurs globally - in the app list, widget names, even the displayed name when I start the app. The only place where the names stay OK is the Market.
These changes don't happen after an update - just randomly but once they happen, they stay.
Some other apps include VoiceCallerID and Mystique Chapter 1.
WTF is going on with my phone?
So yesterday was the first day I used my Hero "officially". I took it off the charger at about 10am and by around 7:30pm it had about 20% left. Not fantastic, but it seemed ok. Last night, I charged it via USB (forgot the charger part) and this morning when I went to take it off the charger, I noticed it was completely dead. I switched it over to another USB cable and after a minute or so, I was able to boot it up and get it going again. I was only able to let it charge for about an hour before I had to leave and go to class, so when I took it off this morning it was around 52%. I didn't do much with it on the way or during class, simply tried stream a little music via subsonic (only for about 10-15 minutes) and sent maybe two text messages. Getting to class (the phone had been off the charger about an hour at this point) I was already at 46% and by the end of class I was at 22%. A quick trip to Wal-Mart for a spare charger and the battery was below 10%. From taking it off the charger to finishing at Wal-Mart was about a span of 2:30 hours. Draining over 40% of my battery in a couple of hours when the phone was mostly idling with the screen off seems absolutely ridiculous. I have the phone overclocked with SetCPU which is set to go from 245 to 710 when it's above 30% and when it's below, it clocks itself down to something like 195 and 490. When the screen is off, it's 125 or so to 245. About midway through class I killed SetCPU just to see if that was my problem, but it didn't appear to be as my battery seemed to drain just as quickly. I don't use a task killer extensively, only to check what applications are running in the background and maybe kill something that won't shut down. But, when I did check, after Wal-Mart, I had an application called "My Uploads" running. I wasn't sure what that was, but I left it running anyway.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if it's possible to pull out everything related to bluetooth and A2DP (Stereo Bluetooth Audio) from 1.5 and insert it into damages 2.1 ROM. I have tried every 2.1 ROM and I can't seem to get reliable bluetooth audio through my headphones, it skips and cuts out. It is very frustrating. I have tried several headset to no avail, it always work flawless in 1.5. I just got done running a logcat as well, and everytime it would skip or cutout nothing showed in the logcat, it was very strange!

Let's say one of those is in my contact list (my wife, for example), and she has multiple numbers (work, cell, etc.).I know i can click the little card on the left side, but it would be great to be able to swipe side to side on her to switch numbers, but that doesn't seem to work.You would think it would b/c there are little arrows beside the number for people that I have multiple numbers on.Is there any way to do this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to backup my contacts so I can update to 2.1. Currently, the contacts on my phone are split between Phone (people who I call) and Google (people who I email). My google contacts are really messy and disorganized because it is every single person I email. Currently, I have my phone only showing the phone contacts I had synced from my computer. But in order to export the contacts now, it seems I have to export them all together. When I sync it back after I update, they will probably not be split between phone and google. Is there any way to show only contacts that have a number assoicated with them so my phonebook isn't that messy?

On the Instinct you put in the numbers with a pause in the string which allowed you to delay entry of saved access codes until the right time. Is there a way to do this on the Hero?

So I spent over hours trying to figure out a way to do it and eventually forced me to create all my contacts in my PC (which I just import/exported to my gmail account), but that took me about an hour or 2. So I was wondering if there was some way I can backup my contacts FROM the phone, directly onto gmail, or a contacts file. Because I know I will get contacts, and this information will be helpful in the near future.Also, please check out my other thread. My HTC is having major Awake issues.

I start saving them to phone instead of Google when giving the option, thinking i could just sync whenever i upgraded ROMS. I was wrong i lost some contacts, restoring older ROMS. So for future references I will save to google, I just want to know if the current contacts now can be saved to Google grouped or i have to go in and do them individually.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I did the upgrade at home, no problem, then loaded My Back up from the market, and reloaded my apps and data from my SD card. I got all the way to load HTC home (109 items). At item 107, force closed pops up. Now when it goes to load the home page it's an endless cyle of forced closed.
Took it to the Sprint store, nothing they can do but reload the 2.1, come back in 2 hours . I do, go home and run threw all these steps again, but this time without loading the task killer app (store recomendation). Same results!
I am trying to send a picture to someone on my HTC hero but it wont send. It has that loading circle off to the side but it will just stay that way forever and never actually sends.

I know the hero can do this, but there are two things I dislike: 1. It uses a keypad not a keyboard. 2. The keypad takes up so much space that you can only see 2.5 names at a time, not 7 or 8+ like a BB. (I know about pressing the button to remove the keypad to see more names) Is there any way of changing #1 or #2 on my Hero? Also, What is the fastest way to copy someone's number and paste it in a text message to someone else? A task I seem to do more often than I would like. The send contact as a vcard is cool, but not all phones can read vcards.
