When I computer either a) the drive doesn't show in my computer or b) the drive shows up for a minute but then crashes with no warning. I just got my Hero so I'm trying to transfer music from the computer to the phone but am unable to do this if I can't access the SD card. any suggestions?

I recently lost the charger and cable that came with the phone, and bought another one, but the actual connector is slightly different. When I plug my phone into my computer, I don't get anything, either on the phone or on the computer, except that the phone does start charging. I get no "start USB service" or whatever option in the phone and the phone does not show up as a drive. Nothing, nada, zilch, zero. I'm guessing it's the cable, but I'd like to confirm before going out and buying another cable.

But the computer doesn't recognize the phone at all. It could be a problem with my computer, but I'm checking here in case I just can't find the option on the phone to "allow USB connection" or something.

Some of you are probably already searching for drivers. Ya I already went through that freak out when I got my Vibrant. Okay, to mount your phone, and have your computer recognize the internal/external memory, do this:Connect your phone to your computer via USB. Give it a few seconds.Next, PULL DOWN your notification bar. Next, tap your finger on "USB CONNECTED"You then get a message asking if you would like to mount. Tap "mount" confirming you would like to do so.Enjoy, your computer should now recognize the internal/external memory.BTW, reverse this process before pulling the usb cable out. Always remove a cable safely, otherwise the data can get corrupt. Don't just yank your cable out.Edit: some of you may also find the following useful. Hopefully the Epic is similar to the Vibrant in these setting

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

I clicked the setup file, installed it, then switched my phone to USB Storage. Windows tried installing the drivers and said there was an error. I know its "slower charge" because the computer also allows data transfer and mounting of the sd card, but maybe theres a possible way to shut that off? I can use ADB shell, but Smart phone flash tool does not recognize phone, MTK droid tool recognizes it, but I can't backup it.
When i put files on my SD card. Android doesn't see the files right away. Most of the time after a couple of boots. This is really irritating me. I unmount the device but still no files. Does someone have the answer for this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhile playing around with Titanium, I was prompted to enable USB Debugging. I remembered having turned this on pre-2.1 for PDANet. However, when I plugged my phone into my PC via USB, it didn't recognize it. So I thought maybe I'd reinstall PDANet to get whatever drivers it loaded to use the USB in Debug mode. I did that, and installed the Samsung USB driver it says to install, but it keeps telling me during PDANet install that it doesn't have the driver. Anyone have any advice here?

I uninstalled sync from the computer, and reinstalled it, even tried a hard reset on my phone, still no go.

i'm using a UK O2 samsung galaxy and i'm trying to upgrade the firmware on it (hopefully to improve battery life).However when i plug the phone into my laptop the NPS software doesn't recognise that there is a phone attached and instead tells me i have 2 mass storage devices connected (an F and an E drive).Does anyone know why this might be? and more importantly how to fix it so i can do the upgrade?

So I wanted to use a bigger card 8 gb. It's a new card, but the x10 mini doesn't recognize it. What can I do? How can I solve this problem? When I plug it in to the USB port, the computer doesn't recognize the device. I've tested the USB ports with various other devices and it recognizes all of them but the Hero. I did get it to sync briefly and begin the upgrade to 2.1, but then it disconnected again after only being synched for a minute or so. I've restarted everything, and I do have the USB debugging enabled. I've scoured the web and forums looking for a solution and just can't find one. I'm running XP, SP3.

I posted a a few days ago about my Hero not syncing with my pc. In short, although the phone charges, neither the hero or the pc recognize each other. Nothing happens. I tried various computers and cables to no avail. Yesterday, I took it into a sprint store to a guy I know is knowledgeable with the Hero (he is the manger and uses a hero) and even he was stumped. I just bought this phone used. I still am within the 30 days to purchase insurance for this phone. Is my only option to purchase insurance, pay a $50 deductible and send in the phone to get fixed?

This is my phone:
Model: Motorola XT919
Android version: jelly bean 4.1.2
Internal memory: 4gb (really 2,2 gb free since the rest is used by the OS)
Rooted: Yes
I found out about this problem because I was running out of internal space so I inmediately checked the storage settings and I found this:
In the installed apps settings it shows 766 mb free of internal space But in the storage settings the things are different: As you can see, this time I only have 127 mb free of internal storage....
Just to be sure, I downloaded the app Storage Analyser and once again checked the internal storage free space: And this time shows 1,52 gb free...
Well the thing is that my phone considers as free space just the 127mb shown on storage settings, and I want the phone also uses the free space shown on the app settings or the one shown by storage analyser.
I am trying to sync my Hero with GroupWise via USB. I only want to sync the calendar, but the software that came with the phone doesn't work. Any ideas? I work for the State of Colorado and can't sync over the Internet.

Sometimes it will come up as an Android Phone and list the normal drivers but that goes away and turns into an Unknown USB Device with no drivers in about 10 seconds. I've tried mounting it to Disk Drive, HTC Sync, Internet Pass-Through, and Sync Manager. I want to update my phone.
