View 8 RepliesIsn't there a way once you get an address from Sprint Nav that there was an option to add the address into the HTC contact list? I know I have done it before but it is escaping me right now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI discovered this new feature today... well, actually I should give credit to my son, who got his hero about 3 weeks ago for finding this.
Pressing on the contact's picture in the people list pops a little menu that allows you to easily choose whether to call or text them. It even provides the Handcent icon if you are using that as your main messaging app!
Just thought I would share this finding, in case I wasn't the only one who didn't know about it!
Haven't been able to find any programs or info on being able to link my Spring Hero up to my Apple PowerBook to sync with my contact list, address book, and calendar. Are there any programs out there for this? I suppose I can do it the long way, and do some sort of export to my windows laptop, but would like to avoid this step if possible.
I looked long and hard at the iPhone vs. the Hero, and decided the Hero, besides having the obvious battery removal and SD expansion capabilities, would be open to more programs potential because of the open-source, linux-style OS.
I'm hoping that as time goes by, programs will be written to allow syncing with Apple computers, and OS X. It's hard to believe that almost nothing has been written in the forums on this subject. Please point me to any topics along this thread, or others in other forums if you know of them.
I am wondering if there is an application I can download or purchase so that I can run the Internet on my laptop off of my phone's Internet. I have a htc hero and I want to do away with my Internet card so my phone bill will be cheaper.

How can i fix tihs without having to manually go in and delete 3 of the 4 fields and enter email, cell numbers to one of the contact?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to all this jargon so please be kind! I want to be able to save pictures from the Internet on my phone when I am browsing the Internet on my phone. For example, say I am on a website and I see a picture I like how do I save it to my phone? You can't click save as anywhere, can you? Is what I'm wanting to do called taking a screenshot? Is that what's it's called on the ipod touch when you click the two buttons and it saves it? If so, I'll go to that thread. Oh, also, when would I use the footprint widget? Does that just save a bunch of pictures for easy viewing?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for some kind of list making app or a notepad app that can keep an ongoing list. More specifically I would like to find a good way to keep track of my DVDs. I never know whats missing because I have so many or if I'm buying a new one, whether or not I have it already. So I'm just looking for something that can handle a long list (600+ movies I have) and simply a check box to click if it has been loaned out and a numbering system to keep track of the running total. I can't find anything that really does that. Any suggestions?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to take a phone number from my call log and edit it to be added to a contact without typing it by hand. On my Sprint Katana, when you clicked on the phone number in the call log, you had the choice to edit or append the number. On my Hero, when I press on the phone number, it calls it? Am I missing a step, or not holding the press long enough? I have searched and read as many as come up under a search, but I can't find any that address it from the call log issue.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a question about the "People (Contacts) app". Is it possible to have more than one phone number for a single contact? I am assuming so by the way the manual is written. I have tried to follow the instructions on page 34 of the manual "adding a number to an entry in People". Step 2 directions do not exist. "Tap ADD>PHONE". I do not see that as an option. Am I missing something?

Nexus One: Despite the shuttering of its online store, Google's flagship phone is still first in line for the Froyo upgrade. In late May, a "very limited test group" received an early copy of the 2.2 software. Google has since been working on final tweaks and expects a widespread rollout to begin soon.
Motorola Droid: The Droid that started it all is set to be second in line for the Android 2.2 upgrade. Early reports suggested the Droid could see Froyo before the end of June. We all know what happened with the Droid's 2.1 upgrade schedule, though, so don't mark your calendars just yet.
HTC Droid Incredible: HTC has confirmed that its newest Droid handset will be feasting on Froyo. No specific timeframe has been released outside of sometime "in the second half of this year."
HTC EVO 4G: The EVO 4G is the phone most frequently pitted up against Apple's new iPhone 4 (hint: the EVO wins), so it's no surprise that it's on the confirmed guest list for the latest and greatest Android release. The EVO should get Froyo sometime in the next six months.
MyTouch 3G and MyTouch 3G Slide: The entire MyTouch line of phones on T-Mobile is expected to see Froyo before the end of 2010.
HTC Desire: It's not yet available in the States, but this desirable HTC handset is on-tap to get the Android 2.2 upgrade sometime in the next six months as well.
New to Android... Like some aspects but I find some simple things are tough to solve.
When I hit the "Phone" button on the bottom of the sense screen, it pulls up a contact list that is all 558 contacts plus any number that dialed in or out. I have my "People" button set with just the 150 people I love the most (I eliminated Facebook people from "People")
Is there anyway to change the "Phone" list so that it pops up the "People" list instead of the huge combined list of history and all contacts?
How can i backup my contacts list before updating my phone. would rather not have to buy an application to do this.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to find out how to choose which contact phone number to call. I'm talking about if I have a mobile number and home number programed to one name.
I'm sure this is an easy thing to do, I just can't figure it out right now.
I bluetooth'd my Hero to my laptop and here's more info on it.
1. The speakers on the laptop serve as a wireless speaker system when you make or receive a call.
2. The speakers also play music from your Hero.
3. Transfer files to and from the Hero
4. Send a fax
5. Tether!
6. PIM sync (hello WinMo users!)
7. Wireless printing
I've performed all of these functions without a hitch. So the Hero looks as if it's a better phone than anticipated... at least for me anyway.
I am trying to go wireless and get rid of my DSL I have tried US Cellular tethered, abysmally slow. I tried Verizon, fast enough, very expensive for what you get. Now I am trying Sprint with a Hero and a Samsung Moment to use as phones etc, plus tether to our laptop and desk top to use as a modem. The Sprint store personnel tell me that it can be done, just not something that Sprint will tell me how to do. One of the young ladies tell me that there is an AP that I can download to do it. She uses her Hero as a modem all the time. What would I need to do?

View 14 Replies View RelatedHow to add ringtones that I created and have on my laptop's hard drive.
This is what the Tips thread said:
To add new ringtones or SMS alerts, connect your Hero to USB and mount the device on your PC. Browser to the following folders:
Ringtones: /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
SMS Alerts: /sdcard/media/audio/notifications
Alarm Alerts: /sdcard/media/audio/alarms
However, I cannot find the media folder. Or maybe I have not even gotten to the sd card! I was able to add wallpapers and actually use them, so I did something right along the way.
So, if anyone wants to help a new android girl with this probably very basic task, please do!
I also synced all my contacts and my calendar from my GMail account. So, not 100% lame.
Does anyone know how to rearrange the contact in the contact widget. How about deleting and/or changing the order of the items in the book mark widget.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm sure I'm overlooking something simple. At some point I had an option to save new contacts as a phone contact or a gmail contact. But I've lost that option. Now whenever I enter a new number in my phone I have to manually enter it into my gmail account as well. (Lets not even get into the pain in the butt Google Apps account which will NOT sync my contacts from my personal domain) What am I missing here? I've already lost one gals number that I really wanted to call when I did a factory reset and forgot to manually put it in gmail.

Motorola Electrify
I just purchased my new HTC desire and i have a problem : 1) Adding a new contact number to either phone or Google account. Name/surname are saved but the phone number doesn't get saved; so when editing the contact, no phone number appears. Then, when gonig under Phone and typing the letters of the name just added, i can find it in the drop list of "guessed names" with the number right under the name. I want to be able to view my contact and see the phone number from the application People; and that's impossible now because of this problem.
