Sep 22, 2010Did a factory reset. Unrated did not remove Ny bloatware juat rooted to use wifi tether. Now the ota update keeps failing. What is going on?

My OS is Windows XP. I just downloaded and installed Java JDK 1.6 Java -version from the command line returns: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask java version "1.6.0_17" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_17-b04) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.3-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
My environment vars have: JAVA_HOME=c:progra~1javajdk1.6.0_11. I downloaded android-sdk-r04-windows.zip. I unziped it in V:AndroidInstall
When I go to the V:androindinstallandroid-sdk-windows> and type "SDK Install.exe" nothing happens...If I go this from graph
When I do this from a graphical file viewer I get a quick flash that looks like a command line window and nothing....
When I try to run android list targets from the tool directory I get:
Error: Error parsing the sdk.
Error: V:androindinstallandroid-sdk-windowsplatforms is missing.
Error: Unable to parse SDK content.
So the basic install setup is not happening.
Additional clues:
I have a G1 and Android 1.0 was running on this machine. (Almost a year ago) I've updated my G1 to 1.6 so I thought I'd update my SDK before starting new development.
When I tried to upgrade it tried and then died as the "directory was in use"
So I cleaned out all the android directories, rebooted and redownloaded everythign from scratch.
Now it won't run at all.
I've clearly got something in an unhappy state, but I've cleaned up all the directories and no remanants seem to be running I've rebooted....

Apr 22, 2010I rooted my phone for the first time yesterday, which was easier than I thought, and I flashed Fresh 2.0d and it is running awesome. I am having one issue and that is downloading the HTC battery widget back to my phone, it fails on install. Is that because the battery is being sent to the SD card and it can't run there? Any work around on that? Or is there a better battery app out there to use?

" Sorry, phone daemon install fails!; there is not enough memory to install the daemon, check your phone's memory space and then connect your phone".

I think that this is because its not resizing the images that I try to send.... When i use Handcent all works like it is supposed to but not when I use the default messaging application.

Dec 9, 2009Anyone else having this problem? I force updated to 2.01 and all is well except for my Verizon.net email account wont sync. In settings/accounts.sync I get a sync error message under my Verizon account and a red sync circle. I get an error message at the bottom.of the screen saying- Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly. My Gmail account shows no error. I have had this error since updating to 2.01. Previously my Verizon account had no sync errors.Anybody else getting this error?

I started down this road because I wanted to backup my phone so I could do a hard reset. So installed "Titanium Backup". It wouldn't run because my rom wasnt rooted. So i have spend 4 hours researching and each item i find leads me to another issue or program to install. Most everything seems to involve rooting. For background I wanted to reset the phone because none of the 3rd party contact or phone dialing packages will read the native phone list or contacts. Nov 12, 2010I've been having an issue with using AudioRecord for Android. I've read as much as I can find online about it, but I cannot seem to get a good initialization. I have tried the Android 2.2 emulator, 1.5 emulator and my phone, an HTC Incredible running Froyo. The emulators and my phone fail initialization. I've tried sampling rates of 8000, 11025, and 44100, formats of CHANNEL_IN_MONO/STEREO and CHANNEL_CONFIGURATION_MONO/STEREO, 8bit and 16bit encoding (8 bit makes the getMinBufferSize fail), and Audio Source of MIC and DEFAULT. All result in the variable test becoming 0 after running a get state(failed initialization). It seems from everything I've read that this should correctly initialize the object. I have played around with the multiplier on buflen, to have it range from 512 (the result of the function) to 102400 because I had heard that HTC devices require something above 8192. For testing my problem I made a new, small project that recreates my problem as simply as possible. I pull out the constants needed into local ints then run the constructor and access the getState method for checking if it worked. Code...

I've loaded up my sdcard with .zip files of a few ROMs I'd like to try, go through the whole process of loading up a new ROM, and every single time the phone boots back into the stock ROM. I've had some success with loading up the given ROMs in ROM Manager- but I'm trying to install Smoked Glass 8 or Ultimate Droid, and those are not working.

Mar 10, 2010I just got my refurb today and it wont let me install the smoked glass roms neither v4 or v5. i rooted the phone with no problems. and i had smoked glass running perfect on my other phone.
I go to "advanced nandroid restore" then "choose backup" and i choose the smoked glass rom then the phone says: "nandroid exited with status 25." and if i try to use the backup rom i made it says "nandroid exited with status 21". any ideas? ive tried several times today with same results.
