Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Composing New Message - Contacts Don't Drop Down

As I say when I create a new SMS I press the To field and start to enter a name and do not get any drop down field. I have a phone full of contacts and can reply to messages if they are send to me. In this case i am trying to forward a message to a contact. It is the same if i click new message and click too, none of my contacts drop down. Does anyone know why this is happening, how to fix it or if you are having the same problem. Its very frustrating to have such and advanced phone and not be able to select a contact to send a message too!

When I try and send a new message, or forward a message some of my contacts don't show up on the drop down list. I'll type the first few characters of their name and it will bring up a list of the names in my contacts directory but some names are missing so I cannot send a text in the normal manner (I know I can find the contact through the dialler and send a message that way but that doesn't help if I try and forward a message). I've looked to see if there are any strange spaces in the names etc but I cannot fathom out why some of my contacts are missing from the drop down lict in messages. Anyone else have this problem or know a solution?

Once in a while the drop down notification thing wont drop down. its frozen or something.. is this new or anyone else have this once in a while? app drawer slides up ok and i can go left or right,page to page but down.. no

I just updated to 2.1. When I go to compose a text message and start searching for a contact, it's showing everyone of my Facebook friends. I just want to see my Google Contacts. In the People app, I only have Google checked to view. Why are all these FB contacts appearing when composing a text message?

I have two groups of contacts "MyContacts" and "Utilities". When I set up synching I selected to copy "All contacts".
Unfortunatey, when I look what's on my area on sonyericsson.com/wportal I see only the contacts from the group "MyContacts".
I.e. the site creates a false feeling of security - if I need to restore my phone from this site I will irrecovarebly lose lots of data.
I don't know is SE forgot to test their function or Android-hackers don't understand the features of the contacts.
All area of handling the contacts stinks seriously, and mkes you wander if the Android people ever used a mobile phone :
1. X10 does not accept contacts sent via SMS (VCARD-format), (or via MMS or bluetooth)
2. X10 does not sync with Outlook where most of business people have their contacts, and maintain them when receiving corporate mails etc.
3. The only way to get the contacts is to export from PC to a csv-file and import to gmail, and then sync to the phone. This is not that flexible due the export via csv. I.e. If I create cntacts in the phone they will not reach Outlook.

Since the update everytime I get a voicemail I also get a text message saying I have a voicemail.
Can't seem to find where to turn this off. Called Rogers and had no idea.

Have just got my new X10 - all OK except one thing that is frustrating. Is there any way I can get sms text message tone to repeat if I miss one. With other phones, if an sms is not read it repeats the sms tone every minute or so to remind you there is one waiting to be read - cant see any way of doing this on the X10 - anybody know if this is possible and I am just missing it, or is there an app that does it?

I've searched the forum and can't find anything similar so I'm assuming it's most likely a set up issue on my phone. I hope someone can suggest something to help?I occasionally have issues replying to text messages! When I send the messages, I receive a message saying: 'message not sent', even though I have signal at the time. In order to send the message, I have to leave the messaging app (SE default) and go to my contacts list, find the person and send the message as a new message.

Ive got a lovely white x10i on Orange Uk and everytime someone from Vodafone sends me a text it takes ages for it to come through unless I turn 3G on. Other people on other networks like O2, Virgin, T-Mobile etc are fine its just Vodafone. I just want to know whats wrong and why it matters for 3G to be on seem as its just a text message.

I post this thread to ask whether there is a way to set different sounds for message and alarm notification. I have a cool sound set for message notification (something like "Message arrives"). However, in the setting, there are only Phone Ringtone(for incoming calls) and Notification Ringtone(for both message and alarm notification. Therefor, when I do something like plug-in my phone to PC, the message ringtone is played, which is quite annoying. My question is that is there any way to set the separate sounds for message and alarm notifications? (maybe an app)

I have a serious error on mobile now, I have both updated and restored the phone a few times. The problem is that I can not dial out or text message. But the Wap function works perfect!When I try to call the call terminated before it connect ! when I try to text message, you can not pour.

Can anyone recommend an app that enables me to use the music stored in my phone for txt message alerts.... or one where i can download current music for the use of txt alerts.... a lot of them say they do but dont give u the option to use it as a notification tone.. .or their really out of date . i found a few when i had my desire but cant find them now.

Is any one else having problems with text message alerts? i have set a tone and its at the same volume as calls but i don't get any ringtone or vibrate with text messages... but i do when it rings..any ideas?

I thought the idea of the home screen was to show the latest sms/email etc, i got a sms but home page shows an old message, when i go into timescape i see my last actions and the newest message but the old message that is on homescreen is not shown. Take it this is a slight bug?

is possible to import a sound on my memory card so that i can use it as the Alert tone for when i receive a text message. Am i stuck with the ones that are preloaded on the phone (they are pants!) or do i have to go on the web and buy one speciffically for the X10? .......

i have handcent as my default sms app which is alot better then the stock one. When i get a sms i have the pop up enabled (after you unlock the handset). but not to show the keyboard. This works ok but when i press the white square to reply - the text you received does not move to the top of the screen so you cant see what your typing or you cant press send as there hidden by the keyboard. The only way you can see that is when you have finished is to press the back button (that closes the keyboard) and then you can also press the send button. If i have the keboard to pop up automatically when i get a txt....i only see the top line of writing / send button!

I have just turned on my Xperia X10 Mini and on the top of screen there icon and a message telling me that the SD Card is damaged and should be formated. I try to format it through "configuration > Sd Card > Format SD Card > Erase" however nothing happens. I have rebooted the phone, and checked that the SD Card is well conected, however I the demaged SD card message still remains. What should I do?

After taking a picture, it comes up with the (process com.newbay.pixota) error photo seems to save fine, but the error message happens after every pic about the application not working (process com.newbay.pixota)anyone know how I can fix this? With the following error message I keep recieving when loading up Andrioi Market, this has only just started as I was using it over an hour ago and it was working fine
'Attention, A network error has occured. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen'
I have cleared the cache and uninstalled market updates and I am currently on 2.1v of android market.
