Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Way To Get Sms Text Message Tone

Have just got my new X10 - all OK except one thing that is frustrating. Is there any way I can get sms text message tone to repeat if I miss one. With other phones, if an sms is not read it repeats the sms tone every minute or so to remind you there is one waiting to be read - cant see any way of doing this on the X10 - anybody know if this is possible and I am just missing it, or is there an app that does it?

I have a 3 day old X10 mini and tried to use a song from music library as message alert tone. However, even after I have already opened the message, the music still keeps on playing. I have opened a lot of other apps from the phone and the music kept playing until the end. I could even play another music from the player alongside the alert tone I used.

I have a mp3 file as a text msg tone when I receive message the tone keeps going even when I've opened the message. How to stop it without changing or shorting the mp3 file.

Since the update everytime I get a voicemail I also get a text message saying I have a voicemail.
Can't seem to find where to turn this off. Called Rogers and had no idea.

I've searched the forum and can't find anything similar so I'm assuming it's most likely a set up issue on my phone. I hope someone can suggest something to help?I occasionally have issues replying to text messages! When I send the messages, I receive a message saying: 'message not sent', even though I have signal at the time. In order to send the message, I have to leave the messaging app (SE default) and go to my contacts list, find the person and send the message as a new message.

I have a serious error on mobile now, I have both updated and restored the phone a few times. The problem is that I can not dial out or text message. But the Wap function works perfect!When I try to call the call terminated before it connect ! when I try to text message, you can not pour.

i have handcent as my default sms app which is alot better then the stock one. When i get a sms i have the pop up enabled (after you unlock the handset). but not to show the keyboard. This works ok but when i press the white square to reply - the text you received does not move to the top of the screen so you cant see what your typing or you cant press send as there hidden by the keyboard. The only way you can see that is when you have finished is to press the back button (that closes the keyboard) and then you can also press the send button. If i have the keboard to pop up automatically when i get a txt....i only see the top line of writing / send button!

How do you add someones contact details within a text message, on the xperia x10 mini pro?
when i click on add,the options are add picture, take photo, add video,record video.
if i click menu it just says edit recipients

I have just purchased the X10 Mini Pro. I have attached a song I have downloaded for my text message notification. The song plays when I receive a message, but once I have read my message the song still carries on playing, it plays until it gets to the end of the song.

Does anyone know how to change the sound for a text message notification?If I go to Settings, Sound and Display, Notification Ringtone, and change it, it will only change the sound for say email notifications? I cant change the sound of a text message notification? Does anyone know how to do this please.

I cannot find out how to increase the text messaging validity on my phone. If I send a txt to someone who has no signal or phone is turned off I get a message failed delivery report. In my past sony ericsson phones there is a setting you can change so it will try to send for a longer period of time, It is usually found in the text settings but on the x10 mini pro I can't find it anywhere.

My Xperia now 8 days old. Its an upgrade from 3. Its proving to be the worse phone I have ever had!! The battery life is terrible, fully charged yet went off half way through my shift? What I am have been having major problems with and cant figure it out for the life of me is how to forward a text and delete a draft message? I just cant figure it out! Forward a message? how do I access the names or the phonebook? theres always only the contact that sent me the text in the first place or one i use frequently. and i have a draft i cant get rid of unless i send the **** thing. this phone is so frustrating to me because texting and facebook are my main objectives when purchasing a phone. facebook: when i tap on notifications it tells me constantly there is an error. now i told the salesman in the shop what the main uses of my mobile are and so far I am extremely disappointed with this mobile phone, i have been mis-sold! Can someone please put me out my misery so I can appreciate this little phone a bit more!

Liking my new phone and feeling quite happy about the small format.
Though I've found a lack in my or the phones abilities:
How do I attach a contact to a text message or an email?
I'm using Roadsync email
How I do it now is: Navigating to the contact I would like to forward, edit it, mark and copy the phone number, paste it into a text/email, write the name of the contact and press send.
Features I also would like to see in the future:
Have the Roadsync application use the "Full Name" field instead of the "File As" field, when syncing contacts with MS-Exchange.

When i receive a text message the phone doesnt sound an alert or vibrate, really annoying having to keep checking the phone to see if i have any messages. The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.

After a long time of wanting an Xperia x10 I finally got one on Saturday. Before that I had a Blackberry Curve, so things are quite different from what I've seen so far.I have a few questions after fiddling around for a while;
1) Is there a way to set an .mp3 song as my SMS tone?
2) My phone came with some Moxier software; is there a way to delete these? I won't be using them as they don't appeal to me.
3) I'm using the built-in Facebook app, and I'm not recieving any alerts for notifications...do I need to do something for this to work?
4) Speech Synthesis - What is this and how do I use it? (I installed some voice software like it asked, but I don't see how this software is used)
5) I downloaded a task killer which was recommended; do they work? My battery drops so fast, is there other methods around this?
6) Finally, any useful apps you'd recommend to get the most out of my Xperia X10? I've seen various new keyboard apps which have tempted me as I have a little trouble with the stock one, for example.

Yesterday when i picked up a call i turned the speaker on but thereafter i am not getting the ringer tone for my incoming calls though i've not kept it on mute nor silent. My ringer volume band shows full volume. besides, I am also not able to play any music file provided by the phone. Can any one please help me how to enable my ringer or sound.

Ok basically i've set a song as my tone for notification and it works fine.... except that when i recive an SMS etc it playes the whole song regarless whether i view the SMS or not and refuses to stop :? this is rather annoying meaning i have to put my phone on silent till the song has finished :/ On my old SE phone the music stopped as soon as i had viewed the SMS. Is there anyway to do this on Xperia X10 Mini Pro? (aside from physicaly editing and shortening the music track..)
