Is any one else having problems with text message alerts? i have set a tone and its at the same volume as calls but i don't get any ringtone or vibrate with text messages... but i do when it rings..any ideas?

I have a 3 day old X10 mini and tried to use a song from music library as message alert tone. However, even after I have already opened the message, the music still keeps on playing. I have opened a lot of other apps from the phone and the music kept playing until the end. I could even play another music from the player alongside the alert tone I used.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a song setup as the ringtone on my Xperia X10 mini and this works fine but when I receive a text message the phone is playing a random song. I have the phone set up to use one of the phones own short notifications but it isn't using it and I have to restart the phone to stop the song playing. I may have the settings wrong but I can't find anything in the instructions to put it right?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen i receive a text message the phone doesnt sound an alert or vibrate, really annoying having to keep checking the phone to see if i have any messages. The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.

Phone security - I've just moved from my Sony Ericsson C510 and have had other SE phones over the last 4 or 5 years and all have had the option to have a SIM lock and a phone lock, so basically you enter two pins at startup. I have managed to set the SIM lock on my X10 so it asks for a code at each startup, but the only other options I see for a lock are the pattern drawing thing, which admittedly I haven't attempted to set up yet. Is there anything where I can enter a code-based phone lock like on my old C510?
2. I have managed to transfer all of my contacts from my C510 using the send-all option over bluetooth, but is there anything I can do to transfer all of my texts to the X10?
3. Wallpaper. On all of my previous SE phones, it has always given me the option to use either a standard picture size or a maximised size for my phone wallpapers. On the X10 it forces me to crop my picture to a size which is not ideal! (e.g - if i wanted a pic of someone as my wallpaper, it would probably just cover their eyes!) To make this worse, once the selection is selected, the wallpaper is horribly zoomed and blocky. Surely I am doing something wrong and this can be resolved??
4. Where is the file system? Unlike my previous phones there is no file manager.
5. Is it possible to switch apps when they are running? If I am running an App, Opera for example, and I press the back/home buttons, the only way I can get back to opera is to goto the main menu and click on it. Surely it should be running in the tray at the top (like ebuddy does when I run that, even after I've pressed back/home
I have an unlocked Rogers X10a that I use on At&t. Ive been told by a few people that when i send out texts they receive blank ones.But on my side it shows them.Has anyone else had this problem? Any way to fix it?

As I have 2 simcards (I'm abroad), I need to know what time the texts actually come through, not when I get them when I switch my phone on. This happened with my old phone but not my new xperia.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen the X10 attached to a wire handsfree, the alert notification from the stock calendar, gmail, alarm clock etc would come though the handsfree and not the phone speaker itself. Is there anyway to stop this happening as I want the notification to come though the phone speaker. Or is this the bug of X10 that SE needs to sort out?? Is there any app on market that can make sure the alert notification comes through in the phone speaker, not via handsfree speaker when a wired handsfree attached to X10.

It was working fine yesterday, but then out of nowhere it stopped working, I've been asking friends from different carriers, emails, etc to send me TXTs and MMS but I still can't receive them, I contacted my Network and they did OTA update, I even did it manually deleting the APN searching for the network etc. but same issue, I can send txts/mms but I can NOT receive them. any suggestions?

Can't seem to find where to turn this off. Called Rogers and had no idea.
Have just got my new X10 - all OK except one thing that is frustrating. Is there any way I can get sms text message tone to repeat if I miss one. With other phones, if an sms is not read it repeats the sms tone every minute or so to remind you there is one waiting to be read - cant see any way of doing this on the X10 - anybody know if this is possible and I am just missing it, or is there an app that does it?

I hope someone can suggest something to help?I occasionally have issues replying to text messages! When I send the messages, I receive a message saying: 'message not sent', even though I have signal at the time. In order to send the message, I have to leave the messaging app (SE default) and go to my contacts list, find the person and send the message as a new message.

Other people on other networks like O2, Virgin, T-Mobile etc are fine its just Vodafone. I just want to know whats wrong and why it matters for 3G to be on seem as its just a text message.

I have a cool sound set for message notification (something like "Message arrives"). However, in the setting, there are only Phone Ringtone(for incoming calls) and Notification Ringtone(for both message and alarm notification. Therefor, when I do something like plug-in my phone to PC, the message ringtone is played, which is quite annoying. My question is that is there any way to set the separate sounds for message and alarm notifications? (maybe an app)
