Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Reply To Text Message

I've searched the forum and can't find anything similar so I'm assuming it's most likely a set up issue on my phone. I hope someone can suggest something to help?I occasionally have issues replying to text messages! When I send the messages, I receive a message saying: 'message not sent', even though I have signal at the time. In order to send the message, I have to leave the messaging app (SE default) and go to my contacts list, find the person and send the message as a new message.

I use HandecentSMS to text and I can send and recieve, but when I do recieve them I can only read in the quick reply screen and the notification bar, but it won't show up in my conversation screen so it looks like I am talking to myself. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it still won't work properly.

Since the update everytime I get a voicemail I also get a text message saying I have a voicemail.
Can't seem to find where to turn this off. Called Rogers and had no idea.

Have just got my new X10 - all OK except one thing that is frustrating. Is there any way I can get sms text message tone to repeat if I miss one. With other phones, if an sms is not read it repeats the sms tone every minute or so to remind you there is one waiting to be read - cant see any way of doing this on the X10 - anybody know if this is possible and I am just missing it, or is there an app that does it?

I have a serious error on mobile now, I have both updated and restored the phone a few times. The problem is that I can not dial out or text message. But the Wap function works perfect!When I try to call the call terminated before it connect ! when I try to text message, you can not pour.

i have handcent as my default sms app which is alot better then the stock one. When i get a sms i have the pop up enabled (after you unlock the handset). but not to show the keyboard. This works ok but when i press the white square to reply - the text you received does not move to the top of the screen so you cant see what your typing or you cant press send as there hidden by the keyboard. The only way you can see that is when you have finished is to press the back button (that closes the keyboard) and then you can also press the send button. If i have the keboard to pop up automatically when i get a txt....i only see the top line of writing / send button!

How do you add someones contact details within a text message, on the xperia x10 mini pro?
when i click on add,the options are add picture, take photo, add video,record video.
if i click menu it just says edit recipients

On my SE W995 I just click forward and tick the recipients (easy)

I have just purchased the X10 Mini Pro. I have attached a song I have downloaded for my text message notification. The song plays when I receive a message, but once I have read my message the song still carries on playing, it plays until it gets to the end of the song.

Does anyone know how to change the sound for a text message notification?If I go to Settings, Sound and Display, Notification Ringtone, and change it, it will only change the sound for say email notifications? I cant change the sound of a text message notification? Does anyone know how to do this please.

I cannot find out how to increase the text messaging validity on my phone. If I send a txt to someone who has no signal or phone is turned off I get a message failed delivery report. In my past sony ericsson phones there is a setting you can change so it will try to send for a longer period of time, It is usually found in the text settings but on the x10 mini pro I can't find it anywhere.

My Xperia now 8 days old. Its an upgrade from 3. Its proving to be the worse phone I have ever had!! The battery life is terrible, fully charged yet went off half way through my shift? What I am have been having major problems with and cant figure it out for the life of me is how to forward a text and delete a draft message? I just cant figure it out! Forward a message? how do I access the names or the phonebook? theres always only the contact that sent me the text in the first place or one i use frequently. and i have a draft i cant get rid of unless i send the **** thing. this phone is so frustrating to me because texting and facebook are my main objectives when purchasing a phone. facebook: when i tap on notifications it tells me constantly there is an error. now i told the salesman in the shop what the main uses of my mobile are and so far I am extremely disappointed with this mobile phone, i have been mis-sold! Can someone please put me out my misery so I can appreciate this little phone a bit more!

Liking my new phone and feeling quite happy about the small format.
Though I've found a lack in my or the phones abilities:
How do I attach a contact to a text message or an email?
I'm using Roadsync email
How I do it now is: Navigating to the contact I would like to forward, edit it, mark and copy the phone number, paste it into a text/email, write the name of the contact and press send.
Features I also would like to see in the future:
Have the Roadsync application use the "Full Name" field instead of the "File As" field, when syncing contacts with MS-Exchange.

When i receive a text message the phone doesnt sound an alert or vibrate, really annoying having to keep checking the phone to see if i have any messages. The software is all up to date, ive reset the alert tone in the notification settings, and im afraid thats all my knowledge used up. Ringtone sound is fine and it also vibrates for that.

I love the timescape on my X10. It helps me keep track of a lot of things but, I feel that showing only missed calls in the Timescape is a drawback for it. It would be great if SE can show the entire call log and simple options like callback/message back in Timescape.
So, reply here if you like this feature to be added and hope that SE hears us.

When I receive a text and try to reply I cannot enter into qwerty when I turn phone on side. I'm using Handcent, but not sure if i'm receiving on Handcent. It only happens when I first, initially, get the text notification.

But now I'm on 2.1, it doesn't do anything of the sort.
e.g. let's say i had sent out a text stating; "Hi John, I will be at yours next week - you can email me at berty@bassett.com if you need me to bring anything"
so a few days later I'd start a new text. By the time I'd wrote "Hi" the system would offer me the next word as "John" - it had kind of learned what it thought I might want to say next. This was incredibly useful when entering email addresses into form pages.
Now, when I type "Hi", it offers stupid suggestions like "Hit, High, Hill" and other completely unrelated junk.
If I enable predictive texts, it auto fixes words that don't need auto fixing. I sent a text to my sister saying "lolzalot" and by the time I realised what had gone on, it had instead replaced my word with "locally"
Why is this new way of doing things so poor compared to the old 1.6 way? Or at least, how can I get it back to being like it should be.

Ive got a lovely white x10i on Orange Uk and everytime someone from Vodafone sends me a text it takes ages for it to come through unless I turn 3G on. Other people on other networks like O2, Virgin, T-Mobile etc are fine its just Vodafone. I just want to know whats wrong and why it matters for 3G to be on seem as its just a text message.

I post this thread to ask whether there is a way to set different sounds for message and alarm notification. I have a cool sound set for message notification (something like "Message arrives"). However, in the setting, there are only Phone Ringtone(for incoming calls) and Notification Ringtone(for both message and alarm notification. Therefor, when I do something like plug-in my phone to PC, the message ringtone is played, which is quite annoying. My question is that is there any way to set the separate sounds for message and alarm notifications? (maybe an app)
