Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Software Update Not Working?
Aug 31, 2010I got the X10 today and all is well apart from one thing. After i connected the phone to my PC and i got the PC software installed it said there was an update for my phone. But after trying a few times the update process wont work. After holding the back key and plugging in the USB cable the software wont move on to the next step. I have tried the stand alone update program from the sony site but this does the same.

Oct 21, 2010Not sure if this topic has been discussed before, but I've just purchased my X10 mini and tried updating the phone software but I'm receiving an error regarding my internet connection, even though my connection is fine. The download gets to near completion and then I receive an error message. I tried updating via PC Companion and the update available on the site (version 2.10.10.9) but the same problem occurs. What could be the reason for this?

Jul 15, 2010Well I live in the UK with a Vodafone handset and just upgraded OTA, before the update when using the dialer and selecting a contact then selecting the number would usually dial straight away. After the update when I select the contact and select the number I want to dial what it does now is take it to the number screen with the number on thus slowing down the call process and making me put it towards my ear and pressing random numbers before realizing that I haven't even made the call yet.

Oct 17, 2010I have alot (and I mean ALOT) of apps on my Xperia, so I get around 5 app updates a day, which is now starting to agitate me because most of them are the same apps everyday needing updates.
Today I heard about an update for the market that includes an auto update feature for installed apps. But I, like many others, do not see this option on the market.
Does anyone have any idea how to get it? or if I can't get it, when can I?
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: USB Not Working
Nov 6, 2010Whenever I try to connect my Xperia to my pc via USB port nothing happens. The problem started after I updated my phone's software not to 2.1 (as its not available for my phone as yet) but another update that the software said was available. Upon completing the update I then reconnected my phone to the USB port but then my computer said there's no drivers installed for my phone. I've tried letting windows search for drivers but no luck with that. I find this strange when previously everything worked fine and I could browse the files on my memory card, but now all I get is no drivers are available. I've tried searching for drivers on line, but there doesn't seem to be none. Is there any way to solve this problem?

Jul 23, 2010I am a new x10 owner, I have 1 dekstop, 2 laptops, and a playstation3 all connected to my router wirelessly and they all work fine, so the signal strength and availability are definitely out of question. I've tried using different security protocols and they all yield the same result, it cannot successfully obtain an IP address. Occasionally it would work, but most of the time it doesn't.

Oct 14, 2010Up until Sunday, my Sat Nav on either Co Pilot or Google Navigation was perfect - it knew exactly where I was and was incredibly accurate.On Sunday, for some reason, both sat nav apps can't seem to pin point my location and think I'm up to 30 feet away from where I actually am.. which then has a problem with navigation as it thinks I'm on another street.I tried re-installing the phone software (using PC Companion, so it was completely a clean install) and this still hasn't helped.

Nov 7, 2010I only got this phone 2 days ago and I don't think the camera is working, or I need to set it up somehow.
Firstly, the button on the side doesn't activate it. It does go into it from the apps screen though.
However, when you push the camera button to take a photo, it focusses for a brief time then it bleeps loudly and the focus square on the screen turns green. It never actually takes the shot.

Aug 28, 2010I only got my X10 just over a week ago and the menu, home and back buttons on the bottom were randomly not working and it's only becoming more and more consistant. It's driving me nuts and it's especially frustrating since it's a brand new phone. I can't find anything on the internet and yes my phone software is upgraded. Dec 4, 2010I now have a problem with my battery. A few hours ago, my battery level was around 35%. A few hours later, it remained at 35% indication. Since this couldn't be correct, i restarted the phone. Now, my battery indication was 100%. False again. I turned the phone off. It wouldn't restart. I tried the 'flash device method' by holding back button and putting in computer USB. No help. I tried SEUS. After that, phone switched back on, with false battery indication back to 100%, which is impossible. I noticed that during all this 'fun stuff', my battery refuses to charge. The LED indicator remains green without flashing, the settings screen doesnt say 'charging'. I know that the phone won't charge below 95% battery. So, the phone thinks the battery is 100%, therefore won't charge, and I'm pretty screwed, especially since I fear that once my battery drops dead, the phone won't be able to charge ever since it will think its 100% full.

Nov 30, 2010I'm on 2.1 nordic on vodaphone uk. 3G was working fine using switch pro to turn it on and off, then I turn it on to download a MMS which it failed and now it won't turn on again! I've put it on airplane mode and changed between network modes that used to enable me to turn it on again in 1.6 but it won't do anything now. I tried turning on and off the arrows show for about 30 seconds then it stops. I had similar problems with 1.6 and that was the vodaphone 1.6 official version. Why is the X10 so crap with 3G?
I've tried numerous switchers on 1.6 and they all ended up stopping working after a while but I could always get it working again now it just failed. Is there anything I should be doing to get MMS to work properly and how do I get 3G back? Any settings I need to put into the APN settings even though it seems everything is filled in automatically by selecting vodaphone as my network. Is it a Android flaw in general or just the X10? I would be totally happy with this phone apart from this which I keep thinking has gone away then starts up again!

May 11, 2010I'm having some troubles using the SE sync option. When I update my contacts with pictures and create new contacts, these are not updated in my X10.
Any changes I do with contacts are however perfectly transfered to my phone. Is this normal ?? Why are the pictures not transferred ?
Also in Gmail and SE sync there is an option to insert birthdays for my contacts, but I cannot see them in my X10. Is there any option for this, because that would be very important for me.
