Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Smileys Disappeared After Upgrade To 2.1?

This is really just a silly thing but it's bugging me - I've put the Android keyboard on the phone after the upgrade to 2.1 and the preview of the smileys has disappeared
I can see them in their raw form by long pressing the smiley face on the number pad, but I'm not fluent in smiley language! and also, not all of them translate anyway; I can't get the angry face anymore for example.
Is there any way of getting the smiley page to work as it did on 1.8, where the More button would bring up the pictures? (can you tell I have a banging headache this morning, having trouble with words.

On my x10 i use handcent to manage my text messages when i someone texts me with a smiley in the text - i get the shortcut instead of the small pic if i enter a smiley and send it to my phone...i get the picture.
The difference i can see is the one i get does not include the - between the colon character anyway of changing this?

User manual disappeared from my XPERIA and it has been to repair two times, no effect. the user manual aplication connects the phone to this site, and again to a missing part of site so no manual again. I have reinstalled the software myself and no effect again.

I have been using Handcent SMS for about a day because the original/stock messaging app wouldn't always deliver my multiple/group messages. Handscent SMS was workign fine until suddenly all my sms's dissapered from both the original/stock messaging app and from the additional Handscent app I downlaoded. Does anyone have any idea? Many have reported on other sites they have had this problem on "Android" phones especially on the 1.6 Versions. It is not nessarliy Handcent SMS related as some people's dissapered from the stock app.

I've been playing with my phone since the update to 2.1 and I suddenly noticed, by looking at the notification area, that my battery was getting critically low - but I hadn't had an alert, either onscreen (I don't think) or audible to tell me so Could I have switched it off accidentally, and if so, where can I switch it on again?

The contacts that were on my old phone but not on the sim card I had to insert manually on my new Sony Ericsson X10, which took quite a while. I was messing around with the phone today and now they've all disappeared. Please don't tell me I have to insert them all again, they must be in there somewhere.

I updated to R2BA020 firmware and then the PlayNow app disappeared. Originally the FW was xxxxx14, and that had PlayNow which I have used and downloaded a few apps from already. But after the new FW update, the PlayNow app has gone. Does anyone know how I can get it back?

I unmounted the SD card and when I connected it to the computer to browse all the files and directories disappeared. I was able to recover them using testdisk. So, the files are still there. Is there a way to show the folders and files, because testdisk renames all the files.

I have upgraded to version 2.1 on my Xperia X10 Mini. When the "Data Traffic" arrow is selected in the Mobile network settings the icon disappears from the toolbar at the top, but when it is not selected the icon appears. I cannot access the internet or download any of the Apps. Can it be sorted out.

Please can you advise if it is possible to get the stock SE keyboard and dictionary back after upgrading to 2.1. I actually liked the way the dictionary displayed rather than the scroll that i use now.Also please can you advise why the stock android keyboard only suggests names in the dictionary rather than real words?

Is there anything I can do to get my 3g network back after the 2.1 upgrade? I was in an area that I used to have 3g with no problems. Now that I upgraded to 2.1 Generic for 10xa AT&T I now have no 3g. Maybe I just need to turn it on?

I just checked software update and it tells me 2.1 is now available for upgrade. however, from the sonyericsson site i have to download PCcompanion and do the upgrade via PC.so, my questions..
1. i can not upgrade OTA?
2. i am a Mac user, i must do the upgrade from a PC?

I get a message on the phone that says there's an upgrade. I assume this is the Android upgrade. It said, I think, "details on the sonyericsson.com support pages", and no, checking exactly what it said is not an option, I need to use my phone, not keep a message displayed until I have time to do something that potentially renders the phone useless. Web pages refer to installing PC companion which I haven't done. Mea f-ing culpa, it didn't work and I didn't bother. So now the instructions just say connect and either pc companion will install or it's already installed. Neither is true. Trying to look at specific instructions for X10 Mini Pro (or even X10 mini), btw, tells me the page does not exist (it has "wandered off", which strikes me as something that a 10 year old support page might be doing, but one for their newest lines? Come on.) And by the by, the X10 mini pro is not selectable when creating a forum account I didn't want. Glad if someone could help, but honestly expecting another expensive SE brick.

Just upgraded from 1.6 to 2.1 on my X10 and now cant get Hotmail to connect up. 02 UK Contract account. I have a BT Yahoo account working fine on it, but Hotmail refuses to work. O2 have sent me the settings and I have put them in manually too, still nothing works. The phone just sits for hours with the message "checking incoming server settings".

After upgrade to 2.1 when i am going to "Manage Applications" I am seeing only those apps that I have installed unlike before (1.6) where I could see all the installed apps like google apps, default games etc. Where can I find these apps (in case I want to clear cache or something like this)?

The peria X10 mini pro has the firmware version Donut (v 1.6) while newer versions like Eclair (v 2.1) and Froyo (v 2.2) have already been released and the other manufacturers have already used them in the phones. Android systems is ready to release the next version of the OS: Gingerbread (v 3.0) while we still use the crappy 1.6 base version. When will the software upgrade to atleast 2.1 or 2.2 be available for the X10 mini pro users?

After the upgrade (all went well), when I select a contactI have the same number several times on the screen.
If I choose edit, in the edit menu are same numbers gor google, sony sync and phone contacts. Even if I try to filter them, they are there.

I'm located in Malaysia and have been calling the network operator asking if they have data connection problem and they said NO. i have friends using the X10 with different network operator and experiencing the same thing.. is anyone else having this issue? is this hardware or the upgrade? i am totally clueless

Since I installed the latest upgrade 2.1 (successfully), I lost the keypress sound which was very useful. I tried the Settings/Sound and Display/Audible touch tones menu, and the Language & Keyboard/ Sound on keypress menu, in both cases I selected "on" but still I don't hear the keyboard sound which I find very useful since I am partially sighted.
