Samsung Vibrant :: Movie Accidentally Deleted (Camcorder)

Sep 11, 2010

While deleting some videos, I accidentally deleted Avatar. I've researched this issue and have not come up with anything that would replace it besides going to Tmo and asking them to. I was wondering if someone from the forums here could allow me to recopy this file so I could get the movie back. I have searched all my files several times over, it's gone. All I have left is the trailer.

Samsung Vibrant :: Click On The Avatar Icon / File Not Found

Aug 25, 2010

Every time I click on the Avatar icon it says "File Not Found". It happened recently, I had it for two days and it worked fine.I was looking up this problem on the internet and someone said a reason why its not there anymore is because when I connected my Vibrant to my computer via USB, I didn't disconnect my phone from the computer "safely" which might have corrupted some files which pretty much sounds exactly like my situation. I have a solution idea though I don't know if it would work. My brother has a Vibrant as well. I thought maybe I copy his Avatar movie file to my phone and maybe it would work?

I accidentally deleted the FM Radio APK of my Micromax A90 and didn't have a backup. I tried three different FM Radio APKs, but none worked correctly.

First one was for Gingerbread so didn't work on ICS.

Second one installed but constantly gave up a message of initializing.

Third one also installed but force closes on opening the app.

Samsung Vibrant :: Anyone Know Movie Stats Of .dcf File?

Aug 20, 2010

Anyone know the movie stats of the .dcf file? Bitrate, codec, framerate, etc Mediainfo doesn't tell me anything about it, and I don't know of any other utility that might recognize it. Hmm...

I'm curious because I just compared (my wife's) Vibrant playing avatar.dcf with my (company's) iPhone4 using my custom 960x540 Avatar .m4v (which I made using the raw 44GB bluray .m2ts), and the Vibrant's .dcf just blew it out of the water. Both are tack-sharp, but it's like looking at 32-bit vs 16-bit color. When you look at the iPhone4 video by itself it looks great, until you see it next to a Vibrant, then you realize that some colors on the iPhone4 just don't reproduce with much accuracy. Then there's the contrast ratio... holy crap. Can you say "true black"? The Vibrant is amazing. The super AMOLED just seems to blow their LCD away... and their IPS LCD is more advanced than any TFT LCD to date, yet the Super AMOLED just kills it. Do yourself a favor if you just bought an Android phone with an LCD and DO NOT look at the Galaxy S line. You will have buyer's remorse.

Anyway, I'm getting ready to encode a new file (800x450 mp4) directly from the raw 44GB bluray .m2ts file to fit the native resolution of the Vibrant (800x480), then do a head-to-head comparo video. Both files will be in H.264 (AVS video converter v6.4) in the interest of keeping it a fair fight, but I fully expect the mp4 that I create to look even better than the included .dcf. If anyone's interested in the comparo I'll post the youtube link here in this thread, assuming my newbie status allows it.

Samsung Vibrant :: Make Movie Size Smaller With Handbrake?

Nov 20, 2010

I use handbrake to rip my DVDs to my phone. I followed the instructions on from this linkHow to convert videos and transfer them to the Samsung Vibrant - Know Your Cell

Works fine but the file size is like 1.5GB, does anyone know if there is a way to make the file smaller? I'm not hugely concerned that the quality is the best, but hopefully not too pixally, I just want something to watch while I'm at the gym.

Samsung Vibrant :: Mini Kies Update Doesnt Softbrick If Deleted Bloatware

Oct 12, 2010

I got ballsy and since T-Mo is sending me a new phone since this one is Hardware locked and I can't get into ODIN, I opened up mini Kies and got the new firmware. All it did was re-install all the bloat I deleted before and got rid of root.

I don't know if this is universal or I got lucky, but it worked. It hung on the Galaxy S screen for about a minute, but after that it's awesome.

I see 12 Sats indoors and I connect to 7. Outside I see 13 and I connect to 11.

Vibrant is the best phone I've ever owned after this GPS update.

HTC Incredible :: Why Mod Deleted Thread Title?

Aug 19, 2010

A mod deleted my thread titled: 'Another POLL ... WHY do you want Froyo? Can you PM me please and let me know why it was deleted? I had very specific reasoning for posting that, even if many thought it might have been redundant. I wanted to post a poll to get a rough idea out of all of the posters aching for Froyo, who wanted it for bug fixes, and who wanted it for other reasons such as new features, etc. That is a specific purpose, and is not redundant. If you'd be so kind, please let me know what i did wrong. I was really looking forward to the results of that poll.

Samsung Captivate :: Most Impressive Media Moment / Avatar Playback

Jul 20, 2010

While going through the Galaxy S manual I noticed that mkv video files were supported. I grabbed a backup copy I have of my Avatar Blu-Ray, in mkv format. I chopped it using a muxer to 1gb and transferred it to the phone. I don't remember which specific muxer I used, but it's so that I would t have to re-render the movie.I was floored by how gorgeous the movie looks on the 4' screen. Vibrant colors, no lag during playback and very good details. For some reason the audio is not working but my avi audio playback are nice, especially with the virtual 5.1.

I played with the tone controls and the brightness. By far this is my most impressive media moment with any smartphone. What is your most impressive media moment with the device, so far?my Droidx and Evo4g coworkers are jealous. I out performed them in benchmarks and the screen "vibrancy" wins by a mile.

Android :: Frame Animation Or Movie File For Short Interactive Movie Application

Jul 22, 2010

In a nut shell, when the app is loaded, it will play a short movie (maybe a few seconds at most @ 12-24fps). I will then have 2 buttons displayed on the screen, and depending on what button is pressed, it I will play another short movie (5-10 seconds). While waiting for the user to make a decision, the movie will be looping.
The movie source is stop-motion photography so it's already chopped up into frames. My question here is if I should use a Frame Animation technique, or if I should use a Movie player for this. All in all perhaps there's less than 100 still frames that make up the stop-motion. I was going to go the Frame Animation route, but I wasn't sure if having so many individual frames would kill the app so I thought I'd post here to see if anyone had any insight.
