Does anyone have an unlock code for a Samsung Galaxy S locked to TMobile UK? My brother wants to join the Galaxy party but the one he's seen on eBay is locked and the codes on ebay are 15!! As you guys are the font of all Galaxy knowledge thought you might be able to help him out.

Just got the aforementioned phone, installed some apps, rooted the thing, but it appears that the pull down notification bar at the top is locked, and won't respond to anything. This is pretty annoying, as you can imagine. I'm probably missing something obvious here, but does anyone know how I can unlock it?

Okay my issue is that my phone gets into safe mode 90 percent of the time i turn it on for the past two days.I power it on and its in safe mode. If I do a reset by clicking power button and and press restart, it doesn't resolve problem. if i click power button press reset and hold the button lower left bottom of phone while it reset, problem goes away, the safe mode is gone.
it keeps coming back to safe mode. I tried to do a virus scan with avg antivirus and it detected two bad apps,
I just pre-ordered mine from the UK and I was wondering if I will able to use it on Tmobile's 3g in the US. I am so confused about all the frequencies! I would hate it if I have to stick with using EDGE on it. Also I did a little snooping around and it seems like the galaxy S will be coming to the US later this year...on all 4 major carriers? So is it correct to assume that the phone will work on Tmobile 3g or are they going to sell different carrier exclusive models so that it will work on each individual network?
View 20 Replies View RelatedApparently the new iPhone will stay connected to wifi even while the screen is locked.This is nice because with my current iPhone,I use about 3-4 megs of data a day even if I never leave my house (which has wifi).It would be nice if the Captivate didn't do that since I have the 200-meg plan with AT&T and I'd like to use my data for web surfing, not checking for email in the background. However when I can't make calls or send text messages, but people can call me, on top of this, when I turn on the phone it says enter unlock pin code, what is this code, how do I fix it?

For how long who knows, the behold 2 has been going on for years, but tmo, nor anyone really cared about that phone
This was pointed out earlier by someone on a thread and I couldn't seem to find it. But just to point it out again the moment can be turned off or put on airplane mode even while its locked. This may be a bad thing if someone steals your phone and you want to use someones phone to either call or text it so that it will ring to find out who has it. All the thief has to do is put it on airplane mode or turn it off to deactivate ringers, sound, and gps.
Is there an app or option where I can use a passcode to unlock the phone rather than the pattern?And is there a way to track my phone through gps just in case it's lost or stolen?Any ideas or suggestions if a device someone rely relies on a lot is lost or stolen? My friend on his moment was able to add a message on the home screen saying "If found please contact "phone number" "email" and will be given a "$300" reward.
So basically my Samsung Galaxy S3 was SIM locked when I bought it. After getting it unlocked (long after warranty was void) I noticed the guys installed a really bad ROM and I want to reflash with a stock firmware. Will this lock my phone to a single network provider SIM card again?

I'm switching to use gsm phones and not cdma lke my currently company.So my friend has a droid( can't remember which one) and every time they tried putting in a sim card it would ask for some code, which I beleive would be the network unlock code.Now instead of doing the traditional method and buying an unlock code from the internet, would I be able to unlock the phone by maybe installing CWM and flashing a different ROM?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm about to buy a Galaxy. But here it's exclusive to TMN (cell operator) I use Vodafone. So i'm obviously about to unlock my Galaxy the same day i buy it. I have an Omnia ( I900 ) at this moment and it's unlocking was very easy. Go to dialer, enter a code that would open a service menu. Chose SIM LOCK and disable it. Soft reboot and voila... Anyway i learned it too late so i have an X-SIM that allows me to use my phone with any sim card. My question is, did anyone unlocked a Galaxy?

View 4 Replies View RelatedUsing a Galaxy S4 with Android 4.3. I use the swipe feature to unlock the phone.
If the phone is unlocked when I answer an incoming call, I can use all of the phones features, including Mute, Speakerphone, etc.
However, if the phone is LOCKED when I answer an incoming call, I cannot unlock the phone. Pressing the main button does not bring up the screen to enter my password. It just stays blank. Therefore no Mute, no Speakerphone, no access to contacts, etc. By default, you can't even end a call! If someone called me and just put me on hold, I would have to pull the battery to hang up. Fortunately I have set the power button to hang up calls, but that doesn't really fix the overall problem.
So, how do I get the phone to at least let me unlock it when in this situation.
I upgraded my Dad to a One X a few weeks ago. Today he tells me about some sim message and then he said he couldn't make calls anymore.
Sure enough the home screen says the PUK Code is locked. Att tries to tell me that i can happen due to a variety of things yet they can't explain what these variety of things are so I tell the cs person to send me to tech support.
In the mean time I pop the sim out, replace it and restart the phone. Looks like he's back in business.
I am a samsung galaxy s user, and have been for a few months, obviously at first i had it as android 2.1, it was brilliant i had nothing to complain about. The other night i updated to 2.2, i think it was that i cant be sure, but, ever since this my phone has just been constant lag, and to be fair i havent noticed any real change except for that, for instance if i recieve a message, my phones unlock screen becomes a lot of puzzle pieces and i have to drag one puzzle piece to a gap, this has become near impossible to do it smoothly, its ridiculous. closing any apps is a nightmare and typing anything is the worse, have i done something wrong? or am i not the only one this is happening to, because my dad has the same phone he updated it just before me and its working fine.

Running a Bell Galaxy-S with 2.1 and the OCLF. Recently when I lock my phone or it just goes to sleep (screen shuts off) I can't unlock it. The screen just stays blank and it requires me to pull the battery and replace to boot it back up. There doesn't appear to be any consistency with this error and I haven't installed any new apps in recent time that would have changed the phone around.

I create a separate one in the Thread because if the View is closed the global one for that view is closed, causing my Thread update to throw an error. The thread is in a View, that also has it's own instance of the DBHelper and opens the database onCreate closes it onPause opens it onResume closes it onDestroy The instance in my Thread is throwing this but not all the time :error code 5: database is locked Is there a known practice I should implement so I don't get this error?
