My email takes ten minutes to load and another ten minutes to delete! The thing seems to freeze but then finally finishes. Please tell me this isn't normal... I was using a blackberry which had instant email.

Just got the phone and loving it so far but im having major issue's with You Tube, Most video's take about 5 mins to load in low quality and in high quality it can take upto 30 mins or more which of course by that time the phone locks and the video has to restart again.
Any suggestions as to why it takes so long? Also is there a setting for video's to automatically start in high quality? And for the phone not to lock?
Is it normal for push email to take 3-4 minutes on an android device? I just sent some test emails from my laptop. They arrived at 6:33 pm and the timestamps show the were sent at 6:29. Maybe I'm just spoiled from having a blackberry because I'm used to push email being immediate, not 3-4 minutes later. Is anyone else experiencing this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have galaxo 1.6.3.1. after playing around with the launcher (replaced AdvancedLauncher with Helix for donut) i now experience some troubles with the dialer - its extremely slow: when i press the dial button i takes about 5 seconds to load. if i click the Contacts tab it takes around 3-5 seconds.
I tried clearing the dial application's data (thus removing all my contacts and my call log), but its still slow.
Offcourse there's always the solution of reapplying update.zip but i want to avoid it
Is this normal? That seems ridiculous. I have my screen on the lowest brightness, have all syncing off, have 3g, using a black background, GPS, Bluetooth off. Like wtf? Battery monitor says i have 290 hours remaining also. Im so confused

View 2 Replies View RelatedYouTube videos takes longer to load. My browser sometimes doesn't load web pages completely and the speeds are way slower then 3g... Well atleast on my end... I'm in Baltimore and 4g is very much up and running. Not ranting, its just that 4g was one of sprints selling points, jus think it could be a bit better.

However it has had the effect of hiding ALL my media files from my phone - non are accessible. When I mount (to a Mac) I cannot see a file named .nomedia and so cannot delete it, but all my media files are there. How to I get rid of the .nomedia file i cannot see?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI believe the stock email app (not the gmail app) that comes with the Vibrant has somehow been corrupted on my phone.
I noticed that the email app was acting strange, then a few days later, I would find my phone very hot and nearly drained of all battery (this happened about 3 times). I turned off push for my three accounts (set them to "Never"), and I haven't had the overheating problem since. That being said, nearly every time I use the email app, I have to force quit it.
I have a google account and also an account through our local internet company. Neither one is sending or receiving email. Anyone else have this problem? Hoe did you fix it?? I did do a search for email..but I must be using the search wrong because it sends me to other forums?

Sometimes, after receiving an email from one account I'll get a notification of new mail from that same account a few minutes later, but I won't actually have any new mail. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to find an email app to meet my VERY simple requirements. So far I have found email on Androids to be awful and I mean awful. I am coming from a Blackberry and can't believe how truly terrible the email apps (or should I say header readers) are on Android.
No, I am not bashing Android. I love Android and EVERYTHING else on an Android is FAR better than my Blackberry.
Anyway, most the email apps (including k9 and maildroid) on Android are not email apps at all but email header readers that don't download a copy of the email to your phone, instead just showing you a list of email headers that when you click on them THEN downloads the email. This is horribly inefficient.
So my very simple needs are this:
1. an app that downloads a copy of the entire emails so that it is available as soon as you click on it in the inbox.
2. the ability to edit replies.
The native email on the Vibrant seems to do the first since once it shows the email in the inbox it is instantly available when you click on it.
BUT, there appears to be no way to edit replies. You can't get the cursor in the quoted text or get the keyboard to appear so as far as I can tell you can edit replies.
Has anyone found a way to edit replies on the Vibrant? Of course, the Gmail app has the same glaring problem.
The vibrant comes with two stock email programs. Please save me some time with my new phone, which is better? what are the differences? is there a better email app?
