View 2 RepliesI had BB Storm and simply added my exchange server email by just entering my username and password.I am trying on SF and keep getting an error even after entering domain, server, etc.Does this only work on Android phones with Corp email data added? And if so, I've read many problems with getting emails via exchange. Don't want to spend $15/month, but at least want it to work if i do.Are there any 3rd party programs that will run exchange emails?

I have an Exchange account setup on my phone (Samsung Vibrant, running CM7.2).
Is there some way to prevent it from syncing email? I only want the calendar to sync, but I can't find an option to disable email syncing. Any apps that can accomplish this?
Constantly syncing email all day is really draining on my battery.
I get this error whenever I try to manually refresh my Exchange email account. I noticed I hadn't received any emails all weekend, which was odd. I booted up my iPhone, and there were 7 new emails. My Evo (which has all my previous emails in it) doesn't show these. I was not connected to WiFi (we aren't allowed to have it at my work) when I initially setup the account, and I've since tried through my home WiFi and through 3G.

I switched from my Itouch to the Droid X but an having issues with the email icon not displaying the unread email count. I can open Messaging and see the Corp Icon and it shows the number of unread emails. Can I add an Icon for my Corporate Sync account to the desktop so that I know that I have unread emails?

I can accept a meeting invite I receive just fine, but if I try and schedule a meeting from my phone and add recipients, an invite never gets emailed out. The event is sent to my exchange calendar, but not any of the recipients I specify.

It's such a pain to get everything customized again... Ringtones especially. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on how to fix it besides resetting it? I tried a soft reset to no avail.

I have set up email accounts connecting to a google-hosted email account via IMAP. I am finding that when replying to a received email, my reply goes out with redundant repetitions of the email address on the "to" line. Example: Email from soandso@gmail.com arrives. I click "reply" on the phone and the reply goes out to soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com etc etc *10 times*, instead of just once. It also copies me about 10 times! Is anybody else seeing this? I use this for work emails, so it looks very unprofessional like I am trying to spam my clients! I have another couple of days before my 30-day return period is up, so hopefully someone else know how to fix this. Is there some setting I am overlooking?

So when I go to read the email in lets say yahoo all I see is an attachment file. Is there any way to make it forward the message in-line? If not is there an app that will allow me to do this? Does touchdown do this? Any other apps that are cheaper or free?

Even when I try to refresh my corporate email doesn't update. I have it set on Push, so the email should automatically flush into my inbox. I have two other gmail accounts synced to the SF and they work fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI believe the stock email app (not the gmail app) that comes with the Vibrant has somehow been corrupted on my phone.
I noticed that the email app was acting strange, then a few days later, I would find my phone very hot and nearly drained of all battery (this happened about 3 times). I turned off push for my three accounts (set them to "Never"), and I haven't had the overheating problem since. That being said, nearly every time I use the email app, I have to force quit it.
I've entered all of the correct info to connect to my corporate exchange server, but immediately after setting up the account (and on all subsequent attempts to get into that email account), the "Loading..." screen appears with a spinning wheel and never goes away.
End result is that I cannot receive any email from that account nor can I pull down my contacts.
I am connected to my gmail account just fine.

I have a co-worker who suddenly can not connect to her Exchange account via her phone. It mysteriously stopped syncing emails on Dec. 5, and since then the phone can not connect to the server. Error message reported is "Unable to connect to server." I even completely deleted the Exchange account from the phone and attempted to re-add it, but adding a new account failed with the same error message.
The weird thing is that the account worked perfectly fine before Dec. 5, and we can't think of anything that changed on the phone or on the server at that time. Meanwhile, other Android phones in our workplace continue to receive messages from the Exchange server, including my own Nexus 4 with the exact same server settings and another co-worker's Droid Razr.
The problem phone is a Samsung Galaxy S on US Cellular, running Android 2.3.6.
I have a google account and also an account through our local internet company. Neither one is sending or receiving email. Anyone else have this problem? Hoe did you fix it?? I did do a search for email..but I must be using the search wrong because it sends me to other forums?

Sometimes, after receiving an email from one account I'll get a notification of new mail from that same account a few minutes later, but I won't actually have any new mail. It's getting kind of annoying. Is there any fix for that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to find an email app to meet my VERY simple requirements. So far I have found email on Androids to be awful and I mean awful. I am coming from a Blackberry and can't believe how truly terrible the email apps (or should I say header readers) are on Android.
No, I am not bashing Android. I love Android and EVERYTHING else on an Android is FAR better than my Blackberry.
Anyway, most the email apps (including k9 and maildroid) on Android are not email apps at all but email header readers that don't download a copy of the email to your phone, instead just showing you a list of email headers that when you click on them THEN downloads the email. This is horribly inefficient.
So my very simple needs are this:
1. an app that downloads a copy of the entire emails so that it is available as soon as you click on it in the inbox.
2. the ability to edit replies.
The native email on the Vibrant seems to do the first since once it shows the email in the inbox it is instantly available when you click on it.
BUT, there appears to be no way to edit replies. You can't get the cursor in the quoted text or get the keyboard to appear so as far as I can tell you can edit replies.
Has anyone found a way to edit replies on the Vibrant? Of course, the Gmail app has the same glaring problem.
The vibrant comes with two stock email programs. Please save me some time with my new phone, which is better? what are the differences? is there a better email app?
