Samsung Moment :: Phone Won't Receive Calls
May 28, 2010My wife's phone can't get calls - it can get texts and data fine. At first, calls would go straight to voicemail, and now there is a message stating "The number or code you have dialed is incorrect". Nobody who has tried calling is marked "straight to voicemail", and I had a friend who is not on her contact list call her and he go the same thing. I rooted and removed some bloatware over a week ago, and had no problems. She had adialer installed, and removing that did nothing. I can make calls from her phone, although earlier she said she tried calling me (I was holding the phone because I just texted her to do it) and she said I went straight to voicemail. Sitting here, I called my phone and several other numbers with her phone with no problems.

Nov 12, 2009So I've had my Samsung Moment on Sprint for 2 days now and a problem started happening today. Whenever I receive a text message, the phone goes black, locks, the ANDROID screen then displays and the phone goes back to normal but begins looking for service. I have no clue why this is happening but it's really annoying.

May 26, 2010I have the sprint samsung moment 2.1 no mods or roots. completely stock. This phone is horrible, I have to turn it off every 5 hours to keep it from freezing. Battery only stays charged for 5 hours. And the reception is horrible.

Dec 12, 2009In Gmail I have my contacts sorted by groups, easy enough, on occasion I need to add a new group or move a contact from one group to another, which is easy enough using a pc and my Gmail account. However, I cannot seem to add new groups or edit existing groups on my Moment. I can see the groups, I can sort by groups, but I cannot find an option that will allow me to add or edit any groups. Does anyone know how this is done on the Moment? I suppose I could use the browser to log on to my Gmail account and change it from there but isnt that sort of redundant since I am on my Gmail account using the Moment? Also, maybe someone knows when Moment contacts sync with my Gmail why dont the contact photos sync? One more thing, anyone ever on a call and it goes dead and after a few seconds the phone rings with unknown in the caller ID. When answer it is some from my address book that should have appeared in my caller ID Anyway, now I have to quickly hang up on this person to call the person my phone hung up on to receive this call. Its like the call waiting gets disengaged and hangs up the present call to allow the new incoming. I also had this problem on a HTC Hero I had before I got the Moment also.

Nov 28, 2009I made a phone call, got voice mail, and tried to hang up. Before I could hang up, the person called me back, so I talked to that person. After the person hung up, I saw that the first call I made was on "hold", so I switched to it, and tried to hang up. But the phone would not hang up. Noting I did would end the phone call. I could use the dial pad, I could go to the home screen, but the phone call would not end. I held the "end" button down and nothing happened, and I couldn't get out of the phone call. So I finally popped the battery cover, and pulled the battery to reset the phone.

Oct 14, 2010On my Samsung Moment, a lot of times when someone is calling me, the phone will start vibrating or ringing as it should but the screen does not turn on showing the caller id until 4 or 5 rings, if at all. It makes answering calls before it goes to voicemail difficult.

Mar 5, 2010I've searched and have been unable to find a solution to this problem. Actually its with my wife's phone, we both have Moments, mine works great but hers frequently (not all the time) doesn't shut off during phone calls. At first I thought she was just holding it strange but I have seen it for myself and its quite frustrating. The biggest issue is that its an intermittent problem so of course it never happens when at the Sprint store asking about replacing the phone. I did the recent update to the phone and it still does it. Any way to fix this short of getting a new one?

Jan 26, 2010I've already done the update but both pre and post update, my Moment intermittently won't respond when getting a call. The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?
What experiences have you had with replacement phones from Sprint?
Should I be worried about getting a lemon phone?

Aug 10, 2010I can make calls. I can text and receive texts. Surf the internet fine.. I just cant receive any incoming calls. When people call me they get the generic " the sprint customer you are trying to reach is unavailable". I have done a search of the forums to no avail.

Aug 12, 2010my phone will freeze for 10-15 seconds, then I'll get MAYBE 1 second of phone call, then it'll go to missed call. What's happening here? A similar issue that's also been happening is that I may get the call to ring normally, but then I can't push Answer on the screen so I can't pick up the call. I've updated to Froyo through the OTA update. This wasn't happening after the upgrade, just recently. I've disabled ATK to rule that out, and it's still happening after a reboot.

I have not had the phone long enough to have much call waiting experiences but the times I did, I noticed I had to press menu and then go thru a menu to "click over" to the other call. This is g=fine and dandy from the comfort of your couch but is not advisable if you are driving a car. Is there a one button shortcut to go to the other call without having to look at a menu?

Oct 12, 2010Today, I made a call and the party on the other end was not answering. So, I tapped the red "end call" and nothing happened. There was not feedback from the phone at all. Other end kept ringing. No response anywhere on the phone. Soft keys would not respond--Nothing. Had to press power key and power off, then reboot.

Im happy to have upgrade to android .The only problem i have had so far is when i turned the phone off and try to restart it would freeze and have the android logo replay but never get to the home screen. Had to force recover mode 3 times. I'm guessing some app that force the phone to stay awake might be causing this . Feb 10, 2010So this started a week or so ago. I don't receive text messages unless I'm on a phone call. So until I call or receive a phone call. I don't get any messages. Once I do call. i get like 5 messages. anyone else have this problem? Quite frustrating. Called sprint to reset network n stuff but still no resolution. They said to hard reset but I'm reluctant.

Nov 11, 2010Anyone have their phone freeze to where they couldn't even lock the screen? The phone completely froze, so I went to pull the battery and the phone still stayted on, but frozen of course. I had it plugged in to a wall charger, so I don't know if it was still getting enough power to keep the screen lit.

Oct 5, 2010I just got a SF about a week ago, and am loving it! I rooted within 30 mins of leaving the store, and wanted to downclock the phone when the screen is off. I've been reading a bit, and apparently the Fascinate downclocks automatically to 100MHz by itself? Can anyone confirm this for me please? I tried setting the screen off profile on SetCPU to 200MHz, but noticed my phone freezing up in standby mode. Nothing would wake it up, except a battery pull. I tried bumping up the speed to 400MHz, same effect. I noticed the problem became worse and worse since I've installed it. I had to stop using SetCPU. The problem went away after I stopped using it. I was using SetCPU 2.00 I believe.Also, another question. Is there anyway to set custom ringtones for individual contacts? I don't see the option anywhere.

Basically, the story goes as follows...normally when I receive a call I have to do that swipe thing to accept the call, however, at very random times instead of the swipe I get the option of pressing 'Accept Call' or 'Decline Call' which are displayed on the lower part of the screen side-by-side. Now, to be perfectly honest I actually prefer the latter option but do not know why it is so random. To be clear, I have never updated my phone since I got it and I have searched the settings but not been able to locate anything which would explain this.

Dec 8, 2009Decided to call and register a couple of my phone's common issues with Samsung. The tech support person was actually very knowledgeable and helpful. She and her husband both have Moments so she said she had a particular interest in getting some of the issues resolved. She didn't try any fixes but said with the recent influx of calls concerning Battery Meter/Life issues, a fix could be coming out before a software update.
She did say she knew for sure 2.0 or probably 2.1 was coming and she didn't know when. She said "trust me, I am as interested in this upgrade as you and check whenever I can" All she could confirm was that the upgrade is in the works, prolly be 2.1, and they feel many of the issues we have today will improve with the Android upgrade.
