Anyone have their phone freeze to where they couldn't even lock the screen? The phone completely froze, so I went to pull the battery and the phone still stayted on, but frozen of course. I had it plugged in to a wall charger, so I don't know if it was still getting enough power to keep the screen lit.

Ive had my Vibrant for about a week and a half and my power button seems like like it wore out like if i had it for about a year or something. When I first got the phone it was all good up until a couple days ago when I noticed it. So should I call Tmo customer service to get a replacement or wait it out till it get worse.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I just get off the phone with a friend and I notice that the phone is miraculously showing full bars. I'm in the basement no less where it usually shows zero bars. After checking I now see it's showing zero bars again! I've never seen any phone with this much of a swing in the signal meter. To me, it's become almost humorous to watch it go from 4 to 0 then back again all in 10 seconds time. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, I hope Samsung fixes this problem in a future update as well. If no one else is having this problem I may exchange this phone for a new one.

I try to get into recovery and it just loops the Samsung Galaxy S and Vibrant logo.
it wont connect to my laptop - cause it loops and since it does that, I cannot use odin.
Is there a way to have separate delays for the screen off and phone lock features? I like having the screen turn off quickly (since I believe power on/off for OLED is negligible) but it is annoying to have to constantly unlock the phone if I don't hit the power button within a second or so of the screen turning off.

It doesn't do that if i plug,it,in a computer usb, it doesn't,do that and charges normally. Is that a wide spread issue.

What I'd like to do is completely disable any notifications showing that the charge is complete. Reason being, I use Bedside and at roughly 2am the notification closes bedside and lights my screen up until I acknowledge it. Then I have to close it, re-open bedside and I'm back in business. Anybody know a way to just turn that notification off all together?

I trying to find a way to disable the lockscreen completly so I can use widget locker instead without having to swipe twice every time.
I have tried setting the standard lock screen to none but it still starts with the standard swipe lockscreen - I have also tried alot of different apps (noLock, no lock screen, etc) but none of them are able to disable the lockscreen.
I have also searched for solutions (here and a lot of other sites) but a lot of people suggest its a bug in os 4.3.
Running os 4.3 have succesfully been able to disable the standard lock screen.
I was trying to check the power control options to see if anything was draining my battery too much. There are 5 boxes but nothing says what they are?? Just pics. Can someone tell me what each one means?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I was out on my motorcycle and had about 60% battery left on my Vibrant.Figuring I wasn't going to need the phone for a few hours I powered the phone off, calling myself saving battery.When I turned the phone back on I was totally surprised that the battery was down to 38% immediately following powering up.This happens every time I power the phone down-I lose about 20% consistently.It also happens when google maps shits itself and either freezes the phone (necessitating a battery pull reset) or causes a spontaneous reboot.Is this normal? I've had my phone for a bit over two weeks (so out of my remorse period) and my besides this my battery works and lasts rather well, considering how much this phone has going on.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter being a dedicated bb user, I recently switched to a droid. I'm completely satisfied, however, I have had a small issue with my lock/power button. I've only had the phone for two weeks, but my power/lock button seems to be "stuck". I can still push it, but it's not as "click able" as when I first purchased it. I wish I could explain it better. I actually went to verizon a few days ago, and they weren't much help. The tech actually sprayed some of that air in a can stuff, which temporarily made it better. However, it now seems stuck again. Has anyone had this problem? Sorry for being such a new b!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a free app to change my lock screen. I looked at lockbot and it just wasn't what I was looking for. At least the free version wasn't. I am not ready to pay for a app yet. Still new to android. I like my homepage. I use fancywidgets and like the clock and weather and would like that on my lock screen so all I have to do is hit the power button and see the huge clock. I also don't want to have to swipe so far to unlock the screen. Can someone point me in the direction of a app to change my lock screen around? a free app for now.

One thing I found annoying was having to press the power/unlock button and then swiping the screen to unlock the phone every time, is there anything in the market or some setting to avoid pressing the button and just swiping the screen or possibly using the touch buttons on the front of the phone then swiping?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had the weird issue of my screen staying on after texts, missed calls, etc.to the point that it would continue to drain the battery if I let it.The only way to remedy this was seemingly to activate the puzzle lock piece.On a missed text, call, etc., the screen would turn on to notify me with a visible puzzle lock screen, but then shut off after literally 1 second.Now I feel like I'm in a race against my own phone to detect a text and rip it out of my pocket to swipe the screen before it goes black and I have to hit the sleep/power button to turn it back on and swipe it that way.It's stupid.Yes, I want the screen to not be on all day, but damn.1 second? Is there any happy medium?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was searching online to see how to make a shortcut to toggle the 3G connection on and off without having to sift through multiple menus. I came across the method of having a long press on the power lock button to pull up the menu but mine does not show the network data on/off option and never has. It only shows
* Silent mode
* Airplane mode
* Power off
* Restart
Nothing else. Is there a way I can make a shortcut or some other way to ADD the network data on/off on this pull up menu from the power lock button? By the way why would my phone not have this option from the start when the phone came with Gingerbread and was updated to ICS 4.0.4? I have Sprint so they call this the Epic 4G Touch, so not sure if it was Sprint that buggered this from the other SGS2s that have this feature or not.
Today, I made a call and the party on the other end was not answering. So, I tapped the red "end call" and nothing happened. There was not feedback from the phone at all. Other end kept ringing. No response anywhere on the phone. Soft keys would not respond--Nothing. Had to press power key and power off, then reboot.

If someone steals my phone they will be able to shut it off without unlocking it since holding down power button still works. So is there a way to lock the power button from shutting off phone when the phone is in pattern unlock mode?
Just got my new Vibrant delivered yesterday so now the questions start.
1. Is there a way to disable the automatic screen locking and allow me to just press the on/off switch to lock? There are many cases where I don't want the screen to lock automatically - eg. listening to music. But then when I put the phone in my pocket, case, whatever, I'd like to press a button to lock it.
My top power button is completely stuck, out of no where, no drops or anything, just seems like it is stuck in its housing. I tried everything, banging on table, xacto blade and prying up but nothing. Just doesn't budge. Replacement will be here in a couple days.

Received my 2.1 OTA at 1:36 AM last night and ever since, I can't manually lock my phone by short pressing the power button anymore. I thought maybe this was a Spare Parts issue, since I had changed the Power Button behavior on 1.5 using Spare Parts (when I pressed Power from any screen, it would return me Home; pressing from Home would Lock). So, I uninstalled Spare Parts, but this didn't remedy my problem. Any advice?

Just wanted to know if I can freeze the app "HTC Lock Screen 1.00" If I should expect some force closes or the phone will explode. and if it by any chance brings back the stock lock screen. If not if it will run right away after defrosting.
I do know about widgetlocker, tried it didnt like and I dont wanna have a bigger app or service running for just locking.
