I noticed that when the phone goes into deep sleep mode I don't seem to get my notifications. Anyone have this problem and know how to solve it? I will go to bed and not know that I get a text or email until I wake the phone up. Thank you for your help. I just got the samsung moment

Since I installed 2.1 (betas and now official) the notifications mute any music or podcast I am listening to through the headphone jack. If I'm using the internal speaker, the notification plays, but the music or podcast is still audible. Is everyone else having this happen, and if so, is there a workaround?

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Samsung Moments battery life is due to the phone not being able to sleep.Just like the HTC Hero, there is a background service running that prevents the phone from sleeping. Except that with the Hero it is the SMS. On the Samsung Moment it is the background data services.Just like everyone else I would see a loss of 10 percent battery life in just 10 minutes. And then it would get worse from there. I started reading through these forums and looking through my phone and found that the "Background Data Sync" was on all the time. Not only was it on, but it was constantly using internet data to check and recheck everything from address book to email to updates. This constant activity rules the phone and it's battery depleting it completely.To turn it off. go to Menu on the home screen..choose settings..Data Synchronization...and then uncheck Background data.I did this last night and tested my phone.It has been 12 hours and the battery is still completely full.Hopefully someone will make a widget for controlling the Background data sync. Something that you can turn it on and off with from the main screen.
View 11 Replies View Relatedi have the moment and pressing the red hang up button will turn the screen on when its in sleep mode, but when i press it again to turn the screen off it wont, it has to time out. now the button still works to end calls and if i press and hold it will bring up the shut down window but like i said it wont just turn the screen off i have to wait for it to time out each time. is this a hardware problem or what is wrong.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently started having this problem. I set the screen time out for 15 seconds but the phone won't go to sleep unless I manually turn it "off." I've tried restarting the phone which helps but eventually it starts acting up again. As i type this, I haven't touched the phone in about 3 mins and the screen is still on. Any help? I;m wondering if it's an app I installed?

Can't find anywhere how to do this? Is this normal? It does get pretty warm and not sure if this is good for the screen? When is not plugged it goes to sleep on the 30sec. which is selected?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I put it on a charger (USB or Wall), it charges and when it's done, the phone awakes and stays on. So if I don't manually put it back into sleep mode, it will sit there all lit up and drain my battery.

Now this problem. the phone will not stay asleep after timeout or end button . I have to restart the phone when it does this to make it work normal for a a short while... then usually every day... just a few hours after a restart, it does it again.
So its very consistent, very annoying. Does it with apps or no apps, nothing running or everything running, with service, or with out service.... doesn't matter.
As you can see in the vid, extremely occasionally "shaking" the phone will make it stop. but as im typing this now, its back on again. most of the time shaking doesn't do anything. Next time i may try chunking it at my fireplace
Is there such a thing as an app that plays a custom notification sound (mp3) chosen at random from a group of sounds? For example, if I have several different mp3 sound bytes of different people saying "You've got mail", is there an app that will randomly choose one of those sounds to play whenever I get mail?
(I've got a great notification mp3 right now but I could see it getting annoying to hear over and over again, so I'd love it if it was different from time to time)
I recently updated to Android 4.4 and have encountered a problem with setting custom notification sounds.
Every time I want to set a custom notification I get this list of Samsung sounds to choose from, instead of being asked, for instance, where I want to find the sound.
My friend, who has an LG G2 running Android 4.3 gets the following when he clicks on notification sound in Whatsapp:

I then thought to install an app that controls all notification sounds, kind of like Lightflow does notification LEDs. I found MegaSound and tried that. Gave it permission, went in, tried to set a custom notification sound for Whatsapp and was shown the same list to choose from.
Before I updated I was able to choose a wma/mp3 sound from my files on my phone to use.
can you have separate sounds for email and txt messages? Currently seems to be lumped together.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI want to move an ogg notification to the Epic's internal memory so it will play when the SD card is mounted, but I can't move it to the /system/media/audio/notifications folder. I think it's due to NAND not being unlocked? I have root access. tried creating a /media/audio/notifications folder in internal memory and I could move the file to that folder, but neither rings extended nor ringdroid will see it in that location. Is there someway that this is possible, or do we have to wait for NAND unlock? Surely this is an issue that lots of other people have had.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI found this information over at XDA and thought I would post it for my fellow Moment users. This is going to tell you how to change your notification bar. Credit go to WebghostDK for posting this. Read it here and other info.
WARNING: This does not change the text color or clock color. If you use a black bar you will not be able to see the clock or date in the bar.
In order to change your status bar color along with the Background color, do this:
First we need the framework-res.apk from the phone
- adb remount
- adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk framework-res.apk
Take a backup of this file in case you failed and wants to go back.
Rename your local framework-res.apk to: framework-res.apk.zip
Open the Zip file and go here:
/res/drawable/
Locate these files and unzip them:
statusbar_background.png
status_bar_background.png
status_bar_close_on.9.png
status_bar_header_background.9.png
status_bar_item_background_normal.9.png
These are the files you want.
I sugest that you use Photoshop to do what you want with the colors, if you are using Photoshop, be carefull editing status_bar_close_on.0.png, it might look weird if you are doing it wrong.
After your done editing these pictures go here:
/res/drawable_land/
Locate and unzip:
statusbar_background.png
Do the same here as you done with the first pictures.
After you are done editing the png's, save them in your zip file.
Rename framework-res.apk.zip to framework-res.apk.
- adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
Now restart your phone, and your Notification bar has been fixed.
I've been following this forum since I got my moment a couple months ago, and I wanted to thank all the posters for the help you've given. I just installed beautiful widgets and I have a nice clock now, but I'm wondering if there's any way to hide the notification bar. I saw in the thread where everyone posted their screens that many of them didn't have the notification bar.
