I deleted mine but i want it back. i thought it was backed up and when i go into astro, the file is there. but for some reason it won't let me reinstall. could somebody possibly send me the apk?

I tried flashing stock back on my phone on two different cpu's and two different roms. I was running joey's rom and now I'm running ultimate dream's rom I think it's called. Whenever I try to flash it with the updater it just hangs and in the progress bar it just says ready. Any suggestions?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFinally couldn't take it any longer and installed the RUU then hours later I hear that the Official update.zip is slightly different with a change to gmail (and frankly, at this point, who knows what else.) Also I am seeing "make sure you have the correct "baseband"(?) So for me and I would imagine a few others. Can someone make this a nice clean and complete how to get from RUU to update.zip thread? I have seen a lot of bits and pieces of what it takes.

1. I updated to stock 2.1 using the sprint update tool.
2. I followed the video tutorial to root the phone
3. then i used joey's page (http://www.joeyconway.com/sdx/custom/index.php) to install the his kernel (joeykrim-SDX-kernel v2.0.4 (includes root)).
I have done nothing else to the phone but this and removing a couple of bloatware apps (i checked the list of permitted deletions before i removed anything.) I have not installed a new recovery..at least i dont think that I did as part of one of the other operations I performed (as an aside, i am not really sure what the custom recovery is or what it is used for, so i didnt install it...i guess i need to read up more...)
So that is where I am..but i have a couple of questions.
1) i am now having issues with my wifi connection - the signal reception is very spotty in areas where i should have atleast 2 bars of reception, and the wifi often cuts out completely....Is there any know corellation between joey's kernel and this wifi issue? I have searched the forums and have found nothing that answers this.
2) Is there an easy way to get back to the stock kernel? I have read that i can get back to stock everything by using the sprint download center where I did my original 2.1 update. But is there a way to get back to just the stock kernel without wiping the phone?
Is there a way to do it? I was running the leaked 2.1 and i dont like the official one and want to go back but cant figure out how to do it.

If I sync gmail, those contacts show, but then not even the ones I added manually show up, even by search. Maybe they were overwritten in the sync...o.k. So I add them again, they JUST DON'T SHOW UP. WTF is this crap. I like google and all but are we actually expected to only use gmail/google services to manage our contacts?

I have found that by renaming the fils to end with .jpg it makes them show up with no issues. I previously had blank squares until I selected the photo.

I'm curious if it is just a setting I haven't found since not but 2 days ago I found out that you CAN get the phone to vibrate for texts it just isn't in the general settings.It shows folder names which makes finding them easy but I want to see the file names too. For example, I have Tin Man in a folder but when I open the folder it is just thumbnails of the 3 parts.
It's just by chance that the computer copied the last file first so they are in order but this not only isn't going to happen often but I would like to store all my movies and music videos in general folders and browse through them without making a new one for every file.
How can I turn my album gallery to look like the stock 2.1 gallery?

I'm also trying to add my own custom images that I've put on the card and every time I set them as my wallpaper they seem soooo zoomed in? I've tried resizing them from 1600 to like 480xwhatever and I still get the same results.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Open Home with the DarkHero skin. In doing so, it made my wallpaper resolution 960x854. So rather than each window having a separate wallpaper, it is now one big one, just like the Moto Droid. Which is awesome in my opinion. The problem is setting new wallpapers. Is there a way to manually save downloaded wallpapers to the stock Wallpaper Gallery, rather than the Photo gallery where all of my camera photos are stored? I only ask because it keeps asking me to crop these 960x854 photos and select which window I'd like to change, when I don't want to do any cropping.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWebhost had a massive server failure due to a botched apache update.They had to restore the images from previous which took the majority of today.. then they had some minor data corruption so they had to recreate the data from the raid parity bits which takes some time.It looks like it is all resolved and i had to replace some files from a backup, but the site should be back up and running and sustain no data loss..

For all intensive purposes this is the 'easiest' free way to get rid of the bloat, it does however require root access. You can always just buy root explorer from the market and delete them with it. I tried to make this guide as nob friendly as possible.

I did resets, I've been searching for 3 days for a way how to just put this phone (behold 2) back to stock, and I can't find a damn thing. I always hate to ask for help but I really need it. This thing freezes and randomly reboots by itself all day long. It's pretty useless. Does anyone have or know of a file I can download and flash or use in some other way to take my phone back to stock condition?
