as the title says superuser and root for apps is not working. i installed BH_MAN's stock update rom (which was supposed to have root for apps, as far as i know) and cannot use apps requiring root. also superuser doesn't seem to actually be working. Can someone please help? everything else works great! I just need to use apps that require root.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFinally couldn't take it any longer and installed the RUU then hours later I hear that the Official update.zip is slightly different with a change to gmail (and frankly, at this point, who knows what else.) Also I am seeing "make sure you have the correct "baseband"(?) So for me and I would imagine a few others. Can someone make this a nice clean and complete how to get from RUU to update.zip thread? I have seen a lot of bits and pieces of what it takes.

I wonder if it will still have TouchWiz? If so, I will just keep the Galaxy R12. But if I do decided to get it, would I go back to stock Behold 2 rom?
I have rooted, running bugless beast overclocked to 850. When the Official Update comes out. I want to be able to download it. Where can I get a legitimate stock ROM in case. I need it later. I did search the forums but with the word stock or ROM almost every thread gets a hit. I ended up replacing my backup with something else.

I am rooted and running Fresh. I need to exchange my phone because the mini usb slot on the phone is cracking off. If I do the official 2.1 update will it take me back to stock? I'm sure this is a repeat but I looked for an hour for the answer with no such luck.

I have a stock ADP, firmware 1.0, no updates no mods and of course I want to get the latest features such as voice control, latitude etc, and so begins the fun. Why is there nothing official that can be easily found which states what is going on for people that own the ADP? I must have read dozens of articles showing update procedures and claiming to have leaked OFFICIAL developer updates and only recently did i find 2 thread that eventually end with something stating there is NO official update for developer phones yet.
I have 2 gripes about this:
1. Why no official and clear statement from the development team to clarify this before people start scrambling desperately to install leaked versions that are false? (I know I almost did) 2. Why as a developer do I have to wait for features that are already available to end users?
Go to the market and download Panda Home, this will give you a nice stock android feel, and it makes the settings menu return to stock form Part of touchWiz is gone, looks like its not as tightly integrated as I thought

I was told that the reason that I keep seeing the "No update file exists" message when I check "update firmware" is because I have the latest version.
At some point my phone was updated without giving me a message. I did notice the red and blue arrows yesterday. But there was no message. My SD card mounted and dismounted on its own and gave an error message, and then all references to the error and SD card disappeared.
If your phone is/has exhibited this sort of behavior, you may already have the update.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently converted to BH_MAN stock BH2 image + root. I'm having the following situation:After the install and performing the Master reset everything is working fine, I proceeded to download some applications and everything was operational. I rebooted my phone (for some reason I do not recall right now, happened 2 days ago) and when it came up, I had several applications corrupted: There was an icon in the same place that the original was with the same name but different icon, and if I clicked it would advise that the application was not installed. I would go to my downloads and the application management sections and see the application and it wouldn't work till I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it.Now, last night I also uninstalled the T-Mobile "My Account" software and let my battery drain out completely to have it sync correctly (that was another problem I was having, batt would say I was at 20% and I had 4 bars in the screen, fixed now) and once I let it charge completely I powered it on and some applications were uninstalled again, but the T-Mobile Account software was there again! Can anyone explain if this is a permanent problem or is there something to be done?

View 18 Replies View RelatedI'm using Bearsfan85's custom ROM, but have lost the voice dialer app that was in the Samsung's touch wiz ROM. As this is helpful to avoid car accidents while on the road, I was hoping to get it back. I have the .apk file but ASTRO file manager won't let me install it. I've tried to adb push it but I get a "read-only file error". For whatever reason, the commands "adb remount" or "adb shell sysrw" aren't being recognized, which I think is what I need to do to adb push the voice dialer back onto my phone.Unless of course, the Samsung apps just aren't compatible anymore.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI am looking at getting the behold 2. I really like the form factor and screen. What I don't like, is how sluggish it seems to be. From what I have heard, this is due to the fact that samsung has totally messed up the UI with that damn useless cube and other things.
Can this phone be wiped and then install a stock android 1.5, 1.6 or even 2.0? I am going to get it anyway regardless because I am still stuck in the dumb phone world, and can't even come close to upgrading. I'd wait for the nexus one, but without an upgrade I won't be able to afford it. SO I will stick with this one for a while.
I'm not using BeholdII's Sms program, but Handscent instead. This means that when I click the '5 new notifications' thing at the top, it doesn't go away, because it doesn't see me as having opened messaging. How can I disable this and just use the HS notifications?

I'm curious if it works because it synced so well to my work email, while the Galaxy stock email does not. I'm willing to try it out if anyone has the apk. I forgot to grab it before I flashed the rom and I don't want to have to re-flash to TouchWiz, grab it, and re-flash back to 1.6, especially if doesn't even work.
Also, if anyone's interested, here's a link to an Exchange email app that I got to work on the 1.6 rom, but it's not as feature rich. Exchange ActiveSync on your G1! | Nexeo.net. Pre-apologies if anyone has a problem with providing a system apk. But I did pay like $250 for this phone. Please just PM me then.

But here is my idea:
1. will use original 1.6 ROM from T-Mobile
2. will NOT root
3. will extract the ROM files instead of dumping
4. will remove some useless applications (especially cube) but I will add vanilla Android keyboard or Swype, I will also change the Samsung music player (very slow) with vanilla Android player
5. will add Trad Chinese, Simp Chinese, Japanese interface
6. will keep current samsung notification bar, but I will change the color from black to grey or blue in order to make Weather bug works
In short, I'll like to have a 1.6 version of BH-MAN-ODIN one, which is my favorite.
a few days ago I was flashing my phone and had a power outage when I was almost done. Now I get can't it to show up on RSL or ADB. It's lagging like crazy. I did resets, I've been searching for 3 days for a way how to just put this phone (behold 2) back to stock, and I can't find a damn thing. I always hate to ask for help but I really need it. This thing freezes and randomly reboots by itself all day long. It's pretty useless. Does anyone have or know of a file I can download and flash or use in some other way to take my phone back to stock condition?

I found a way of sending files via WiFi to the sdcard, and also connected adb via WiFi, but I can't flash the new recovery because I'd have no WiFi connection in fastboot. Is there a way to flash an official update from the sdcard using stock recovery? I successfully entered recovery but there are no options, and I can't find a guide of any kind. I tried buying the cable, but none of the shops had the official one, so finally I bought a third party cable that only charges the phone through usb, but windows gives me some error and doesn't recognize it as a device.

I am in Canada and the phone is unlocked (I am using it with Wind mobile) and am wondering if there is an official update to different version of android (I had the magic before and it was all just done for me). Also does anyone know if the phone will relock, all the manuals are not in English so I am not sure the original carrier of the device. (The Samsung website only seems to list the L version of this phone).
