Is any one else used Droid explorer? I used it earlier to remove stock apps and to change my gallery, back when I used the leaked version of 2.1 with v5 from sdx. Now I have DE03 Vanilla Rom though and when ever I try to open up droid explorer it just crashes on start up. Oh yea and I have windows 7. Is anyone else who uses droid explorer have this problem.

i see the other forums have a thread or two on this but thought i'd ask fellow moment users if anyone is using root explorer to remove installed apps. i have used it with much success so far and even reinstalled one or two. just curious what you guys think is the best way to do things of this nature and what all can be done with this app without too much concern.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am new to this (less than a week) and I removed everything with root explorer (and it was so simple). You can get it from the market. I would recommend it if you are not used to linux commands. It was well worth the two dollars for me. The main thing to know is r/w (read/write) vs. r/o (read only). It is just as it says - r/o will only let you read files, while r/w will let you read AND write files (which includes move and delete).
View 25 Replies View RelatedI can install and run HTC Sync on my laptop okay. I can even sync my Desire no problem. Trouble is, while I have HTC Sync on my laptop, Windows Explorer will not work. It shuts down and then tries unsuccessfully to restart. Doing a system restore to remove HTC Sync cures the problem. Anyone else having these problems? Any ideas how to fix it. I am running Windows 7 (32 bit).
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt's clear I'm not alone, when it comes to the loss of network comms on my Moment. I've just resigned myself to the fact that I have to get used to power-cycling the phone when things go bad, and hope against hope that 2.1 is our miracle cure.
But I'm looking for a quicker way to restart my phone, instead of doing the off/on thing. When the phone stops being a phone, the process "com.samsung.internal" has likely crashed. I found where I can force-stop that application (and just about anything else), but I haven't seen where it's stored, in an attempt to manually start it. Can it be done? If so, how?
I rooted and installed a custom kernal several days ago and am very happy with the battery life. However I have a weird problem ever since. My audio stops working all the sudden out of the blue. Ring, text alert, etc. just stops. the only way I can get it to start again is rebooting. Anyone else having this issue? Can i fix it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my Samsung Moment, a lot of times when someone is calling me, the phone will start vibrating or ringing as it should but the screen does not turn on showing the caller id until 4 or 5 rings, if at all. It makes answering calls before it goes to voicemail difficult.
Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?
Just got my moment rooted with 2.1 installed. I now want to start deleting programs like moxier and sprint tv. Is there any step by step write up on how to do this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI received my new x10 mini phone a few days ago and am really impressed by it.
But...
After the phone has been off, the camera works fine the first time I start it.
And if I close the camera application and start it again straight away it also works fine.
But if I wait for maybe half an hour or more and then open the camera application, the phone reboots itself.
This is very repeatable and it looks like there's something wrong in the software or so.
I'm trying to understand remote services at the moment and everything works fine, i can start the service and know how to communicate with it through the AIDL-interface. My problem is that the service seems to still run in the same process like the activity it was started from, because the activity crashes too, if there is an error thrown in the Service.
I set the service process to remote ( android:process=":remote" ) so what am i doing wrong? Or what do i have to do to unbind the service-process completely from the activity-process?
So in accordance with a deodexed ROM, is it possible to simply use Root Explorer to delete all of the .odex files under /system/app and lighten up our current ROM or is there something else that goes into deodexing?

I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. There are no scratches or rub marks on it, never been dropped and I have reset it to Factory Specs via the SECURITY MENU and the ESN is clear and ready to be activated on your SPRINT account.Please email me at sy@rayzel.com if you are interested. View 4 Replies View RelatedMay seem a basic question but I would like to access my company's website which requires a username and password.
The website works on Iphone but not on Blackberry's or Nokia E63. I have tried a SGS in the shop and it came up with an error message.
Spoke with my IT dept and they said the site is only designed to work with Internet Explorer and Firefox. Apples Safari it works with but has some issues on certain rendering etc.
So the question is can Internet Explorer or Firefox be run as the Internet browser on this phone rather than the Google Chrome or whatever it has at present?

Don't get me wrong, webOS is clean and has a lot of potential, but for now...lacking would be a good (albeit understated) word to describe it. I want to jump the Pre ship for the Samsung Moment, but one thing I keep reading about the Moment is bothering me - everyone says it doesn't have multi-touch. However, I recently read that multi-touch is something Android doesn't yet support. This knowledge was previously unbeknownst to me since I haven't used an Android device since the G1 first launched. Since the Moment uses a standard Android build, the OS wouldn't allow multi-touch even if the phone were capable of it. So my question is: Does anyone know whether or not the Moment is capable of multi-touch? If it's simple a shortcoming of Android, I can deal with it since I know Android 2.0 should finally support it.

I got the phone yesterday and the phone has already crashed twice. It's almost as if the phone has died, but I can't turn it on or anything. I have to remove the battery and then turn it on. View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini (model GT-I8190, Android Version 4.1.1) and as of about 3 weeks ago it will crash intermittently when I am using it. I have had the phone for just over a year.The battery will be well charged prior to it crashing. I will be using the phone and then it crashes. The phone will switch off and then will turn on again (by itself) and when the home screen appears the battery will show that its on 0%. This of course then causes the phone to turn off and then turn on again and so on....the only way of stopping this cycle is by taking the battery out (to stop the cycle) or by plugging in the adaptor. Indeed if the phone is plugged in then it never malfunctions and the phone works ok.
Also the battery charge has started to drop quite significantly - It sits on my desk at work and yet i cannot get through the day without re-charging it. When i was in the O2 shop the other day it dropped 12% in 5 mins.It usually crashes when I am using apps that in the past have worked fine but today it crashed when it was updating an app.I have deleted apps that I have added recently in case it is anything to do with them.I have backed up everything and have restored factory settings.I have not dropped it or got water on it etc.
The problem still exists.I took it to o2 who want to send it off. Is it simply a battery issue? It could be a battery issue but I dont want to spend money on a new battery for the problem to persist.
I just updated to the new version through Kies. As soon as my phone booted and I exited lock screen, a lot of popups of processes that crashed show up. This includes android.process.acore, com.google.processes.gapps, Daily Briefing, calendar... pretty much everything shows up and I don't have access to anything on the phone. Apparently usb debug got back on so I can't get kies to recognize the phone.

The standard Samsung music player crashes whenever I select 'artists'. The program just boots me to the desktop and I get a message in the task bar stating 'Not Enough Space in Music Database'. I have about 20GB of music stored between the internal and external cards. Both cards have several GB free. The program works perfectly when I choose All, Playlists or Albums. It just doesn't like Artists.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've already done the update but both pre and post update, my Moment intermittently won't respond when getting a call. The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?
What experiences have you had with replacement phones from Sprint?
Should I be worried about getting a lemon phone?
