I rooted and installed a custom kernal several days ago and am very happy with the battery life. However I have a weird problem ever since. My audio stops working all the sudden out of the blue. Ring, text alert, etc. just stops. the only way I can get it to start again is rebooting. Anyone else having this issue? Can i fix it?

I figured I would try and use Lock 2.0 on my Moment - and it works for awhile, and then all of a sudden it stops working and my lock screen goes back to the standard lock.

I am tempted to take my moment back despite liking it so much. Recently, when I was using the browser or anything that uses the 3g connection, it would just stop communicating and nothing would get loaded. If I waited a while (an hour) it would sometimes come back or I would have to do a reboot in order to get back the connection. Anyone else running into this problem? What should I do?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 2 activity...suppose i name it activity A and activity B.When the application starts it shows activity A.Then after 5 seconds,it automatically switch to activity B.Activity B contains a listview and checkboxes with each item of listview.If user checks something then he press back button and returns to activity 1 page.All these works correctly.
Now my problem is,activity A has a button to go again activity B page.When user press this button i want to start activity B from where it stops..that means the user will see what items he had checked earlier.Is it possible to view the activity B page from where it stops?
It's clear I'm not alone, when it comes to the loss of network comms on my Moment. I've just resigned myself to the fact that I have to get used to power-cycling the phone when things go bad, and hope against hope that 2.1 is our miracle cure.
But I'm looking for a quicker way to restart my phone, instead of doing the off/on thing. When the phone stops being a phone, the process "com.samsung.internal" has likely crashed. I found where I can force-stop that application (and just about anything else), but I haven't seen where it's stored, in an attempt to manually start it. Can it be done? If so, how?
Is any one else used Droid explorer? I used it earlier to remove stock apps and to change my gallery, back when I used the leaked version of 2.1 with v5 from sdx. Now I have DE03 Vanilla Rom though and when ever I try to open up droid explorer it just crashes on start up. Oh yea and I have windows 7. Is anyone else who uses droid explorer have this problem.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwe all know there are problems with stuttering and skipping in Pandora. Here's some proof of what's going on when it happens. I hooked up my phone and grabbed the system log as I started Pandora and easily got it to stutter and skip. I added notes as to what what happening at each step.Perhaps this log will raise some awareness of the problem and if we're lucky all this will make it back to Sprint and Samsung and get fixed soon.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm using Eclipse and the Android SDK for Linux. When I start my emulator at the beginning of the day it works fine. Later in the day it's sluggish and still later it won't start at all. This computer runs Debian linux, the testing branch, with 1Gig memory and a two 1.6 Ghz processors. On another machine I have, the emulator works the same at the beginning and end of the day.
It has 500M ram and a single 1.6 Ghz processor. As it turns out I cannot use the second machine for all my daily tasks. How can I get the first machine to work? Is it the number of processors? I cannot figure out how to disable a processor in the emulator. I was looking at the '-qemu' options, but none seems to do the trick. I don't understand the qemu options that well.
It's time we find out if the audio problems are with all Moment's or just some.If you have used any streaming audio apps such as Pandora, Last.fm or the new Slacker Radio, have you experienced regular stuttering?
View 16 Replies View RelatedOn my Samsung Moment, a lot of times when someone is calling me, the phone will start vibrating or ringing as it should but the screen does not turn on showing the caller id until 4 or 5 rings, if at all. It makes answering calls before it goes to voicemail difficult.
Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?
Just got my moment rooted with 2.1 installed. I now want to start deleting programs like moxier and sprint tv. Is there any step by step write up on how to do this?
View 26 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from CL14 --> 2.1 DD03 last night. I've noticed the following issue with my Bluetooth / audio routing in my car.
Scenario
* Moment successfully paired to car's Bluetooth after DD03
* I can make/receive calls via Bluetooth -- voice commands with my car's Bluetooth system and call is successfully placed by Moment
* My car has an RCA/AUX jack - I've connected that to my Moment's headphone jack to listen to podcasts while commuting to work.
Here's where the problem starts. If the Moment's headphone jack is connected to my car's AUX input with an RCA cable, I can place calls via Bluetooth (or I can hear the ringing of an incoming call) but when the call is connected (incoming/outgoing) the audio isn't being sent from the Moment to the car's speaker. I know the call is connected because I see the call duration timer on the Moment's dialer screen -- and more importantly, if I remove the cable from the headphone jack the audio is then routed to the car's speaker via Bluetooth. If I plug the cable back into the jack, the audio stops again.
I'm pretty sure that this wasn't a problem in CL14.
1. When my car is off, I need the telephone audio to go out the headphone jack.
2. When my car is on, I need the Moment to make a Bluetooth connection with the car and send the telephone audio to the car.
3. I need to keep the audio cable plugged into the headphone jack 24/7.
It is an extremely long story, so just assume 1, 2, and 3 are true and accept that premise.
If the car is on Bluetooth is active but there is an audio cable plugged into the headphone jack, audio is sent out the cable and NOT via Bluetooth. So when the car is on, I need to trick the Moment into not realizing that there is a audio cable plugged into the headphone jack, so that it will send the audio via Bluetooth to the car.Here's my plan:
Disconnect the audio jack from the Moment.
Wire speaker audio to the audio jack.
Assume I have a PACE SMT kit and am comfortable with dealing with surface mount components.From the physical layout, is this do-able?
My husband and I have moments. We both text quite a bit and for some reason, on his phone when you start typing a name in the "to" field of the text message, it does not give the option of choosing from matching contacts. But mine does. Is there a setting that I need to change? Anyone having the same issue?
View 8 Replies View RelatedDon't know if anyone over here cares, but zefie over on SamsungMomentForum.com released a custom kernel with a bunch of fixes. Including a partial audio buffer fix, and a bunch of tweaks and optimizations. Also, persistent root so you can run a bunch of those programs on the market that require it. No WiFi tethering yet, but it is being worked on. Not sure if this includes the battery notification fix because I had already installed CL14 the other day and it's been working for me ever since. This was not difficult to install, once you have the software and drivers required, the update takes less than 30 seconds.

Does the moment have the capability to send audio/video to an external display? I have a ton of shows/movies on it and I would like to hook it up to a tv to watch them. I found this ---> T3 TV-Out Video AV Cable For Samsung Moment SPH m900 US - eBay (item 110497826612 end time Mar-23-10 05:09:55 PDT) but it is the only place I've seen it and I'm not sure if it will actually work with the phone. Any one got a clue?

I cant find any way to disable it short of turning off BT and I dont want to do that as I play Slacker through BT. Is there an option Ive missed to disable autoplaying of music?

I have a activity which is called from another activity as an intent... This activity loads and starts playing a audio file. All is good - that much works. The activity also has a "stop" button and that stops the audio from playing - that is also fine.
But how do I stop the file from playing if the user uses the back button to leave the activity without clicking on the "Stop" button?
As mentioned audio stops after some random number of times when played from either Music/Video player. After some debugging, I found that the problem is:
In "android_audio_output.cpp"->audout_thread_func() there is a call to wait(iAudioThreadSem->Wait()) just before the while(1) and it is waiting indefinitely for something.
Can anybody tell me what is it waiting for and why is it not able to come out? From what I can understand, it is waiting for a signal (semaphore) but where is it expecting a signal from?
The audio/video works perfectly if I watch the recording on my phone, but when I email the video to my gmail account and save it to my computer, it opens in Media Player and there's no sound. Does anyone know how to fix this?

When streaming from Grooveshark in a web-browser, the audio-streaming stops (after finishing current song) when the screen shuts/locks. I have tried several browsers with the same result.
Audio-streaming from audio-specific apps (i.e. TuneIn) works just fine.
Someone mentioned somewhere that it has to do with the browsers not being set to over-ride the screen-lock.
Invoked device native player to play audio file, it opens android native player on top of the application but when selecting to back out or return to the application, device automatically stops playing the current media.

I have a Motorola Droid; today the Voice Search stopped working. I've not installed or even updated anything, have not changed any setting in any app anywhere- but it sticks on "Speak Now." Hitting Cancel makes it stop, but killing all apps and restarting didn't help, and problem continues. Any ideas of where to even start?
PS- the problem occurs when I have the browser open.
I have a 720p video that I am trying to play on GS. The image is amazing by the way. But I can't hear any audio (works fine on my PC). Anything wrong with the audio codec used?

It sees it and connects to it, but can't browse the web or update from other apps, etc. Rebooted phone and told it to "forget" my connection and reset it. Nothing helped. Other computers in the house connect fine.
