So sometimes i receive a text and it will (for example) say its from matt when i know its actually from ian and if i just reply (to send back to ian) to it, it sends it to matt (who it thinks its from) not ian who actually sent it!

Ive had the incredible since release day and within the last 2 weeks ive been having some texting issues. I will send a text to someone and a completely different person will recieve my text. It happened on my original Droid after a few months as well. Ive double checked everytime, and no im not accidentally choosing th wrong person. For instance if i send a text to Jenn (it has her name, her picture and number) but after being sent ill long press the message and it shows someone elses number. Verizon is not being very helpful and its starting to get annoying. Has anyone had this issue as well?
View 10 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having issues with texts going to the wrong person? I replied to some texts from my buddies and then my GF would reply back asking what i meant. I look through the text history and it appears it was sent to the correct person. Now i am scared to text anyone knowing that it could be sent to the wrong people.
And sometimes when i try to reply to a text it says i need to add a recipient.
I am thinking there is something wrong with the texting on this phone. I got my replacement phone yesterday and the same thing happened.
I have this issue where when I am trying to reply to a text message and select the person's name to display the message but another person's name appears. I am not hitting the wrong person since the other person's name is nowhere on the screen. I've had 3 HTC EVO that did the same thing so im assuming this is software issue.

As in, for examply this morning a friend texted me something that was not suppose to go to me, but they typed the message to the person that it should have went to but it did not, is this just a motorola droid problem? because i have not had this problem with my new driod incredible.

View 1 Replies View Relatedthe phone constantly calling the wrong person from my call log, i can live with, angry as it makes me, i live with it. the phone just topped the list with this act. i had the screen locked. phone hadnt been used for almost 30 minutes. i plug it into my charger, and i hear a ringing, i look the screen is locked but lit up as it does when i plug it in, and the phone call handset picture is on, the piece of **** crap had started to call someone. and this was a person i had called almost 11 hours ago and ive since made a half dozen calls to other people. i had to pull down the drop down menu to end the call. yeah real nice getting a phone call at 1245 in the morning. **** me, im calling rogers and loosing it on some ***** call center rep tomorrow. i can see the phone acting out and freezing and lagging, but calling people on its own because i plug it in to charge.

This is not so easy on the Hero so was wondering if an application exists that can send 1 or 2 contacts loads of messages at once?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo, after having to live with GPS that's at best flaky and at worst non-existent for the last three months I've now found something else related Samsung has managed to screw up. All the photos my phone has taken are geotagged with 0 lat, 0 lon. So, somewhere off the west coast of Africa. Other handsets I've used have tagged with the inexact location (i.e. cell tower fix) when an accurate location isn't available.
I would expect either this or no tag at all. Maybe while I'm stripping off the tags this evening I'll put in an order for a Desire HD. Thanks Samsung, I'm just about annoyed enough now to no longer care what fixes or updates you may choose to grace us with at some unspecified point in the future. Ok, that rant may have been a bit over the top but I do feel a little better now!
I have a samsung galaxy s on T-Mobile in the UK. (Contract). I read somewhere that the update is only for Pay-As-You-Go and not contract phones? Is this true? Also, Will this fix the "Text being sent to wrong person bug"?

I opened my 'Messages' inbox by clicking the Messages icon. At the top of the screen it showed that the message was from my mate Doug, not my brother. When i send a text out at say 8pm then it shows i sent a text at 8pm. Then if i recieve a text at 8:05pm it will say 9:35am. Not exactlly that time span but you know what i mean. I've tried to fix this but can't seem to figure out why? I got my phone last week and it's been doing this since day one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my HTC Desire for 3 or 4 weeks now and I am determined to like it. I'm stuck with it for 24 months so I have to!! However, synching with my outlook contacts and calendar seems to be a very hit and miss affair. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I am running Vista 32 bit on a Vaio laptop with outlook 2003 (I hope to move to google apps soon but it feels like a big job to do it so i need enough time to work it all out). I downloaded HTC synch from the web but that didn't work so I used the version on my phone and that seemed to work better! I am using HTC Sync, version: 2.0.28. I always start HTC Synch first and then connect the phone. i select the synch option on the phone, but it usually fails to connect at that point. If I then a wait a little, and if I am lucky, it seems to connect itself and the Application installer icon pops up on the HTC Synch screen. then i can try again to synch. And sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. This is a lot of messing about - i wish it would just work - is there anything i can do? Also, when i receive texts from kid's school or my bank, the phone seems to assign random names from my contacts list. How weird is that? Any ideas for a cure? I have also found that it can be extremely slow to load videos on youtube. at the weekend i was with someone who had a iphone on the same network in the same place and they had no problem. Grrrrr!! often when it fianlly gets the video and starts to play it it stops halfway through - data is obviously not coming through quickly enough. Is there anything i can do to help this. Finally I am very disappointed that it can't make phone calls as well as my old Nokia 6230. same place, same network, perfect on the old phone, dropping out and bad reception on the HTC. The old phone worked fine in the local supermarket, The HTC simply says NO NETWORK. Have i got a bad phone or is this typical?

View 15 Replies View RelatedPrior to installing the external card - the folders app showed /sd. Which I assumed was the internal one. Then I insert the external one, reboot the phone, and tehre is no additional directory in the folder view. Why is this? Secondly, its a 16GB card. Its reported as 14.58GB. The format option is greyed out. Is it automatically mounted at power on? Ideally I want to know where I install things to know that they are on the external card.

Its a case of trying to insert the cursor by the error and then backspacing. This can be quite tricky. Or is there another way to do it? On my laptop there are directional arrows which allow me to take the cursor back through the text without deleting letters on the way. Is there an equivalent on the phone keypad?
View 7 Replies View RelatedOK so i just got this phone a few days ago and now I cant send texts or make phone calls but I can do everything else like use the internet receive texts etc. I had another issue earlier today where my phone shut off randomly and wouldnt turn back on when i knew it ha almost full battery. I took out the battery the sim and then out them back in no luck eventually i took out the s pen and it worked. A few hour later i got home and tried to send and text and no luck. Ive tried everything i cleared the Google services framework cache and text message app cache Ive tried another texting app and even restored it to factory settings. still same issue. What i can do next. I'm on Verizon and bought the phone off amazon wireless.

I own a Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket on AT&T's GO Phone network and I haven't been able to receive confirmation texts from apps and businesses that require phone number verification (Uber, Facebook, Twitter, ect.) Even services like ChaCha can't get through to me. Is there a setting I can turn off to allow these messages to come through?

It seems like it will reply to someone that I had texted earlier. Verizon replaced my phone once, we have done a hard reboot...still problems. Verizon contacted Motorola and they have not heard of this issue.

On my samsung galaxy s captivate, There is a little glitch I've ran into where notifications are with the wrong contact label and some times pushes my messages to that person. So the main issue is that for some reason my mic isn't picking up my voice when I am trying to use the speakerphone.
