me and many of my mates have unlimited texts on our contracts and we like playing jokes on each other where we send loads of texts at the same time to 1 person. so for instance if they dont come out for drinks then they get sent loads of texts. This is not so easy on the Hero so was wondering if an application exists that can send 1 or 2 contacts loads of messages at once?

My phone is the Droid X.
1. The main thing is that my texts won't send anymore when I turn my screen off or even exit out of the text message window. I have to keep my phone on and on that screen for at least 5 minutes until it finally sends. Before this, I could just text, send it, turn my screen off, and put it in my pocket and not worry about it sending. With my job and my life, I can't be doing this. I need a fix for this if possible.
2. This problem isn't as big as the other two but someone will send me one text and I will receive 2-6 times. I'll either receive all of them at once, or I will receive one text, and then 5 minutes later get it again, and then again 5 more minutes, and so on and so on. Now this can get very annoying when I am quickly texting and I keep getting texts like 15 times. I need a fix for this as well if possible.
3. One of the most annoying things about all this is my keyboard is not typing. I'll click on the "insert message here" box and start typing but the letters won't appear. The word suggestions will appear and whatnot acting like I am typing but it won't. My only temporary solution to this is exiting out and going back into the text but it doesn't seem to actually work as I am finding myself sitting there for about 10 minutes exiting and entering back into the texts over and over.
I have one specific person in my phone, and whenever they text me, it pops up on the screen and stuff, but the phone will not vibrate, will not make the alert noise or anything, Ive tried deleting and reading the contact, i tried making a custom sound for them, etc.. so weird. they aren't on a black list or anything. anyone else have this problem? what do i do?

I will send a text to someone and a completely different person will recieve my text. It happened on my original Droid after a few months as well. Ive double checked everytime, and no im not accidentally choosing th wrong person. For instance if i send a text to Jenn (it has her name, her picture and number) but after being sent ill long press the message and it shows someone elses number. Verizon is not being very helpful and its starting to get annoying. Has anyone had this issue as well?

I look through the text history and it appears it was sent to the correct person. Now i am scared to text anyone knowing that it could be sent to the wrong people.

There's something I'd like to do on my samsung galaxy note that I was able to do on my Symbian-based device in the past, but I can't figure out how to do it under Android.
I'd like to save multiple SMS drafts per recipient. However, my Galaxy note 2 only seems to permit me to save one SMS draft per recipient, with each subsequent draft overwriting the previous draft for that same recipient.
Here's why I'd like to have this capability:
If I want to type a long SMS to someone (more than 160 characters), what I like to do is split the message at logical places such as after commas, sentence endings, etc. I would do this by getting close to the end of a given SMS message and then stopping it at the point that I choose, saving it as a draft, and then continuing my text in a new SMS starting at the beginning of the next sentence, phrase, etc. Then, once the set of drafts is completed, I will first proofread and make corrections in the entire group of drafts, and only then will I manually send them off, one after the other.
Yes, I know I can type a long message and the SMS app will automatically split it into pieces after 160 characters, but that often splits words or breaks sentences and phrases in places that I don't want them broken.
Here's how I try to accomplish this on my G1:
Invoke the Messaging app.
Select New Message.
Select recipient.
Compose first SMS.
Select the Back key (draft 1 gets saved).
Select New Message.
Select same recipient as before.
Compose second SMS.
Select the Back key (draft 2 gets saved).
However, at this point, draft 1 has been overwritten by draft 2. In other words, only draft 2 remains.
Any way for me to accomplish what I want (or at least something similar) on my samsung galaxy note 2?
I have several contacts in my phone where I have multiple phone numbers but the location does not always match up with Google choices (MOBILE, WORK, HOME etc) Or in the case of a store like Costco, a different number for each department - Main, Pizza, Pharmacy etc. On my Palm I just used to put initials next to the number to remind me which was which, but that does not work on the Droid - it would not call the number with extra letters. Other than putting the information in my notes, has anyone found a work around? Ideally, I would like to change the words, WORK, HOME, MOBILE, etc to better reflect the ownership and location of that particular number. But that seems highly unlikely since it's connected to Google Contacts. Just wondering how others handle multiple numbers besides a totally different entry, or by adding the info in notes.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone found a way to email or otherwise send mp3 files to another person? I tried the "Explorer" file manager which allows emailing files. I can email from gmail to another account. When I access that account with the standard email client, there is no option to save the audio file (or even just open) as there is for receiving image files. When I send from my non-gmail account to gmail, the file gets truncated to 5MB and can only be previewed within the gmail client. I tried the K-9 client but I can't set it up with my non-gmail account because you cannot select a port for the incoming server (only the outgoing). Thanks for any suggestions.

You can verify this by writing an email to your self, then reply to the received email.
Tap your power button to power off the screen.
Wait a few seconds and return.
You'll find you just sent the draft to yourself.
I'm trying to mass send texts (about 100 at a time) but as soon as I press send - every single one of them fails to send. It just fails and all of the messages just sit there in the 'undelivered messages' section. When I press 'retry sending all' it all just fails immediately, without even trying. I don't care if takes one hour, two hours, 12 hours, a whole day to send em all, just send them texts!

As a Verizon customer I loved being able to send and receive 7 page texts to and from other Verizon customers. I recently upgraded to an Eris from that horribly lousy Alias and noticed that when the same Verizon people send me multiple page texts, the Eris splits the texts up. I'm fine with it doing this, but the thing that really bothers me is every time I get a multiple page text from a Verizon user it also sends me (and the person sending the text) a notification saying the text had special formatting removed or something to that extent. Some people I talk to tend to send texts that are 2 or more pages every time and the constant notification can get really irritating. Is there an app or a workaround to prevent this?

I installed Handcent and SMS Popup and every time I get a text, I get a popup from handcent and a popup from the stock messaging app. I tried everything that was said to fix the problem and all that did was stop the notifications from the stock app from coming up in the status bar. I'm still getting a popup from both apps and would like to just have handcent show up.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to be able to send texts through the default messaging app. Calls and data works. Restarting my phone seems to temporarily fix my issue. I have full network bars and have tried switching carriers. I'm also on Android 4.3 on Samsung Galaxy S3.
The weird thing is that I can send texts through Google Hangouts app, but not the android messaging app.
Frustrated! I am receiving all my texts from different people under one thread. Then, when I reply to the last person who texted me under that thread, it goes to the first person on the thread and not the person intended. Went to the Sprint store the first time this happened, they did a hard reset and that worked for a couple of days but having same problem again. Tried disabling my task manager but that didn't help this problem either. I downloaded Handcent and disabled Hero's text messaging but no luck with that. Please help....ready to throw this phone against the wall. Has anyone else had this problem? Anybody know how to fix this problem?
