I have a phone rooted and upgraded to 2.2. It was like that when I bought. Some programs are uninstalled in my phone. But I want them back. And there are some new programs that I don't need.
So what can I do? And how can I do that? Does a factory reset reinstall the uninstalled stock applications?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I recently got this phone for a good price :-) My first android phone, I love it! I'm not ready to install galaxo yet, but I wanted to speed up my current rom. So I rooted the phone and installed recovery on it and installed the froyo JIT thingie and it seems to have sped up a little. I want to overclock to 614mhz, sweet spot, so I installed the setcpu, but it only goes up to 528mhz, and I've tried searching, and I can't seem to find an answer. So I was wondering if someone could lead me to the right path?

On the Galaxy S when I first went to 'applications' it would list all of the applications in a grid form, however for some reason it now has them in a list form.
How do I change it back?

But since I pressed the post thread button I may as well ask here.I'm trying to replace a notification file in system/media /audio/notification and not having much luck. Astro won't do it. I've tried the file manager in Android Mate (given su permission) and it deleted the original file and when I transfer the new one in it says it was successful but the file doesn't show up. Reboot and it's still not there.Is there a good free file manager that will work with rooted phones, or what is the best paid one to go for? Thx

Love the Galaxy S to bits, but was wondering what I do about some of the old apps on my old phone? Like World War for example, is there anyway of continuing the account on the new phone? Or do I have to start a new game?
Also, the HTC had a really good weather widget where it used to auto update with weather about the location you were currently at. I think it was a HTC thing, as I can't find anything that does the same as this for the Samsung, you can only store certain locations.

The android.phone stopped on me. Verizon is my carrier I use for the phone.
I have the samsung mesmorize. I has a usb cord, but when I plug it in, there is no program. Is it just charging from my computer or is there a program I can use to back everything up? I had to reset my phone and had to spend the better part of a day getting back to the way it was. Please help.

At times when I am browsing through my apps in the applications window, the phone suddenly goes back to the home screen after about 10-15 secs of inactivity. It vibrates a little bit as if the back button is being pressed. I am 100% sure I am not pressing the back button.
Other times, when I start up an app (gmail, facebook, internet, music player, etc) it goes back after about 10 secs of inactivity. It seems to always want to go back to the home screen and it will keep going back till it arrives at the home screen.
I just got my phone two days ago and haven't done anything much on the phone yet.
Onee the " official" fryo comes out will I have to flash to stock then update or can I just apply the update to my rooted phone?

View 4 Replies View RelatedVery happy with the i9000 in the last few days of ownership, using launcher pro in place of stock but otherwise mostly unchanged. One issue we have is that after being at home overnight on WiFi, the phone doesn't automatically re enable 3g. To restore the mobile data you have to go into the network operator selection and re select Optus (our carrier here in Aus). Leaving it on auto doesn't help, and you have to manually choose it each time (ie: it "forgets" what I selected or something). Using apndroid to mangle the apn on/off doesn't help. Restarting the phone fixes it but obviously not ideal.
Have tried entering the code to change it to gsm only instead of the default wcdma/gsm auto with no benefit. When the mobile data is working, it happily switches between 2g and 3g, but will sometimes simply stop working as per the wifi overnight problem and I have to manually select the operator again. This happens very randomly and can go several days without drama, our only a few minutes. While this data won't connect, the phone capabilities aren't affected and you can make and receive calls fine. In fact if you dial a number it sometimes causes the data to re connect.

If it were possible to literally put the stock operating system back onto it, potentially reapplying my warranty?
