I currently own a Samsung galaxy s2, which is still in warranty.
I was wondering if after i flash it with a custom ROM of ICS, i was thinking about sticking on Resurrection Remix ics v1.0 PRO.
If it were possible to literally put the stock operating system back onto it, potentially reapplying my warranty?

I have a small annoying issue that I am sure could be fixed with a flash, the back button randomly stops working until I reboot.
The baby Einstein on their 800 number thought a factory reset would fix it, then that using the software button was a good enough solution and had no clue about tablets in general. Through Support e-mail they were heading towards wanting me to ship the tablet back rather than supply a link to firmware. I explained to them it doesn't appear to be hardware related as it is random, and reboot fixes it.
I need that 2 apks, for my s3 with rom Carnage 1.1 (aosp) and the framework of those, if is necesary for the full working, basicly i need captured photos with the commands of the s-voice...

Recently my fone was upgraded by samsung kies to gingerbread 2.3.6 & firmware version S5670DDKT2, and after the upgrade I was unrooted again
When I tried to root again, all my attempts failed, I used SuperOneClick 2.3.3 to root my fone again, but it failed after STEP 7.
Why can't I root my fone now, has SAMSUNG patched the zergrush exploit?
If so how do I root again?, I mean it should be safe enough to try coz I don't wanna brick my phone....

View 1 Replies View RelatedUnable to find my stock firmware.. every link points to the same file from hotfile.com and my ISP provider sucks causing the download to get stuck in between, tried two times at 100Kbps, failed both the times, once at 62%(552 MB)! its very hard to download it, any non hotfile link or some direct link if possible, can download it and host it as a torrent or something because i have very bad net connection and its slow also.

right now i have the stock ROM and Siyah Kernel and i want to clean instal everything and remove root.
So I've been tinkering around with Odin and flashing to the many firmwares floating around- the latest is the JFM6 i9000 firmware.. Which also included flashing the CSC and kernel..
My question is, since I flashed the csc and kernel, how do I flash back to the stock JF6 rom that came with the phone? Just the pit and .tar (pda)? I have the firmware and the pit file.. just wondering what is entailed because of flashing the additional csc and kernel files as well.
I just got a behold 2 rooted yesterday and im not all that a fan of it i was just wondering how i can go abouts to just get normal unroooted android back on it

However, there are a few stock features that I would like back (Read: A FEW), such as the one that tracks your eyes so the screen doesn't rotate when you're lying down.
Is there any way (like a selective app pack, or apks) to get some of the stock features back on my custom ROM? I'm running the latest slimbean.
Any idea which program would allow me to backup the current firmware so all the apps by my service provider can be gotten back when I unroot my phone?

I have a problem for a few days. The story is that I installed Custom ROM and it stop asking for unlock code when I insert a new carrier sim card. Somebody told me to restore to Stock Firmware. I used "KDS Firmware Update" to push Stock Firmware from my PC but when the phone restart to install Stock Firmware, Custom Recovery Mode appear instead of Stock Recovery Mode. As the result, it failed to install.
I'm looking for a way to restore Stock Recovery Mode but I found nothing. Now, how to do it or give me the Stock Recovery Image zip for my LG Optimus G E973.

I have a phone rooted and upgraded to 2.2. It was like that when I bought. Some programs are uninstalled in my phone. But I want them back. And there are some new programs that I don't need.
So what can I do? And how can I do that? Does a factory reset reinstall the uninstalled stock applications?

I've tried just about most of the common methods I've found so far, and I've gotten nothing.
The only thing I can think of is the fact that the Arc is suspiciously similar to the Nexus 7, so can look into root and see if a port can be made for the Arc.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-19300) international version. I rooted it last night. Took a custom backup of ROM and backup using Titanium backup. I installed cyanogenmod 9 on it today. It was working perfectly. Then when i installed Google apps (gapps) and restarted it got stuck on the bootscreen. I hardbooted and now all i see is this fuzzy black n white screen ( like static). I tried going into clockworkmod recovery but still the same screen. However, i can still go to odin mode.
So i guess i have to install stock firmware through odin now. But i'm unable to download the firmware. All links are on hotfile and as everyone knows , it sucks :/ download stops after 2 min. Cant find a mirror also.

I have the Windows 8 interface and i don't like it, the tablette seems too realy slow (when i want to enter my credential for facebook, in candy crush, the tavlette always crash, ...)
so i want a custom firmware lighter, faster and without the Windows 8 interface.
First off let me say that I was wrong about this issue. Its not an issue with Easy root it is just something built into android. So I apologize to anyone I argued this subject with but specifically Patch. Its also not an issue with rom manager. This applys to users that after flashing a custom recovery they can boot into it once but the next time you try to boot into recovery it has reverted to stock.
This mostly happens to users of easy root or users that use my guide for rooting using Linux
So for the fix.
Download this file and place it in the root of your sd card.

Download Terminal Emulator from the market. The one by the dev Jack Palevich.
Open it and type the following commands.
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
dd if=/sdcard/install-recovery.sh of=/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
chmod 550 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
sync
after that just flash the custom recovery of your choice and you should be good to go.
I tested this on my phone and another user tested it for me and it worked for both of us. If anyone has an issue let me know. This issue is so sporadic that its hard to have people test the fix.
i'm using lg l3 e400 ! actually my went in boot loop ,so it ws unable to start then i flashed kdz V10L(as i'm from india ). then my phone sarted normally!but the main problem is that now i tired to root my phone so many times but always and error comes link failed permission denied !!so i think that after flashing orginal kdz flash (stock rom )kdz V10L we are unable to root !!

Now I would like to upgrade to the latest firmware. I found out that I needed something called Kies, so I downloaded it and followed the instructions - hooked up the phone after checking debugging, etc, but I got an error that said I don't have authorization or something. i previously Flashed a custom OS onto my phone, Cyanogen Mod 11, when i got bored of it i decided to download the Stock touchwiz android for my Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505, i proceeded to download Odin307, once i had the OS and Odin i opened Odin in Administrator, i choose my file which was extracted and i used the PDA option to choose it, all was fine until it encountered this error (<ID:0/006> Complete(Write) operation failed.)
once that failed i tried to boot the phone where it says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode ion Kies and try again" SO basically i can still get into the Download mode and can get to the Firmware upgrade error screen, that is all, is there a way to fix it? ive tried countless times to flash the stock touchwiz but get the same error message on odin!
