Very simple question but I can't work it out.
On the Galaxy S when I first went to 'applications' it would list all of the applications in a grid form, however for some reason it now has them in a list form.
How do I change it back?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a phone rooted and upgraded to 2.2. It was like that when I bought. Some programs are uninstalled in my phone. But I want them back. And there are some new programs that I don't need.
So what can I do? And how can I do that? Does a factory reset reinstall the uninstalled stock applications?
This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
I just visited the sprint store today and was testing an epic 4g and found that the bottom buttons were very unresponsive and I had to press them multiple times (sometimes up to 6 times) to get them to work. The guy working at sprint told me all the epic phones are that unresponsive. Is this true?

I am a very simple phone user, no rooting (I don't even know what that is, even after slightly glancing over the "All Things Root" forum). I had the guy at the Sprint store try to fix my Moment for me, and he did something to where my screen resembled this at the bottom. He just showed me what it could do and not really thinking about asking him how he did it, I went home knowing I would have a new phone in two days (because we couldn't get my problem fixed with just simple swipe & clean and updates). I went in to get my new phone today and put all my apps back on my phone and there wasn't any new apps or widgets other than the ones I had put on their originally. And of course the guy who was there to help me two days ago, wasn't there today and the guy who helped me today had NO idea what I was talking abut said it was probably an app he downloaded onto my phone. Anyways... how do you get that new screen? The guy had told me it was less glitch and I like how clean it looks, plus it would clear up a lot of the clutter I have, so I can add different clutter.

I tired putting it in download mode and it didnt work eiter. I have noticed that although holding down the menu button will go to google search from the main screen, it no longer works in certain apps that used to work before the upgrade. In fact it doesnt seem to work in any apps.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using JPA/JPP/JP4 with voodoo lagfix 5 pre6 for a few days now, and it's been working great... except for one thing. There is no lag while opening applications and stuff, but there is some stuttering while scrolling left/right on home screen, or up/down in menu... it's hardly noticeable, but still annoys me. Quadrant is giving me the same results as when i first flashed voodoo. Noticed one thing also, when i scroll down my notification bar it just doesn't drop as smooth as it was before, but just hangs at some point and then continues. I really can notice even a slightest change in performance, and i read that using voodoo wont cause any performance degradation.
Should i reflash my stock kernel and flash voodoo snapshot?
For those with the Samsung Captivate, are you able to change the applications that are on the bottom tool bar? I could see switching out the native mail app and putting in the gmail app on that tool bar. Is this possible?

Love the Galaxy S to bits, but was wondering what I do about some of the old apps on my old phone? Like World War for example, is there anyway of continuing the account on the new phone? Or do I have to start a new game?
Also, the HTC had a really good weather widget where it used to auto update with weather about the location you were currently at. I think it was a HTC thing, as I can't find anything that does the same as this for the Samsung, you can only store certain locations.
I'm a newbie on smartfones and had spent a few days adding useful apps to my Galaxy S. File management and, file transfer applications to wireless link to my laptop followed by the transfer of all my work presentations (powerpoint) and lecture notes. All worked fine until today. Now, my device seems to have lost all the downloaded and installed apps (leaving gaps on the desktop). It has also discarded the image I had chosen for my screen background, and I can't see an icon to go to the Android store. Finally: on one of the screens I have the message "Problem loading widget". That might be connected to the problem that Android Market has completely disappeared. How do I get that back!! It's important. My transferred files are still sitting in folders in DCIM so that's good. but none of the special applications are visible. Can someone give an opinion on this. Has something taken place online with Samsung that has put my system back to its out-of-box state.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got a "new" samsung galaxy s3 a few days ago and the only problem I've come across so far is that none of the sms pop up apps I download work. I've used SMS Popup on my previous phones in conjunction with Handcent SMS with no problem. I'm frustrated because I can't figure out why NONE of the apps, SMS 7, Popup Notifier, or SMS Popup, will work. And when I say doesn't work I mean I can open the app and change the settings, but nothing ever happens when I get a text - no popup, no notification, no sound, no LED light. But I've tried the Handcent pop up and it works just fine?

It seems no matter how I try i cannot make a shortcut to the Applications category.
If i press and hold the home screen i can add widgets/shortcuts to specific applications but I would like to create a shortcut for the whole 'Apps' category since it is not there.
I accidentally set to select default ring tone and I need to change it back to where I can select the folder. How do I do that?
