i have often experienced this issue. after dialing any phone number and trying to save that number from call log to existing contact it is not working. Means, it tries to open the contact but giving error. did any one has experienced this issue and like to hear your views or corrective measures.

I am currently trying to repair a soft bricked(stuck in boot loop) Samsung Galaxy S2 (T-Mobile) . I am trying to save the info (contacts,sms,pictures..etc). Would using Odin to flash CWM Recovery and doing a nandroid backup and then restoring the phone to factory settings. Would it somehow save everything in the internal memory and fix the phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
even my old huwaei had this option I refuse to believe an all powerful android wouldn't have this simple option.

I've heard from one person if they deleted a contact and then saved them to the phone the ringdroid worked. Can someone tell me how to do this without deleting/ re-adding?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought an Android phone a couple of months ago, a Samsung Galaxy S, and it's been nothing but frustration. There's dozens of problems with the software/firmware and I was lied to by the network I bought it from. That and any attempt to buy a memory card for it yields a fake.I bought it to replace an aging old phone, and also to be an MP3 player.Allshare doesn't work. It will stream videos, but if I want to use to stream music it crashes each and every time without fail. It's as bad now as it was when I got it.It only has 16GB of memory, so it can't as it stands replace my MP3 player, I'll get a 32GB memory card for it sooner or later, and that will replace my 30GB MP3 player.I've tried 3 apps for playing music on it, the default one, Museek, and MixZing. They're all awful, and not designed with the way I play my files in mind. I sort them by file structure Artist/Album/files and I navigate to the files and expect to be able to play all. All three of those music players seem to want to use playlists. Are there any good music players I could get instead of them? I managed to delete all the MP3s on the phone half an hour ago when I tried to get the default music player to do anything like what I was trying to tell it.
I have a server set up in the house using Windows Home Server which has all the storage for the house on it. It can serve music pretty well - my main PC streams from it flawlessly with Foobar. My Android phone seems to have no way at all to do it short of Allshare, which is crap. I'm not interested in streaming it through Windows Media Player 12 which is what I'm forced to do with Allshare. If I could point the phone at a networked directory then that'd be fine... assuming there's a music player out there that actually works.Add to that the sheer stupidity of google calendar having no way to default to gmail calendar rather than the internal one on the phone, and no fix months later.I was going to have a bath tonight, and I thought I'd try again to get music working on the phone across the network. It's now 2 fucking hours later and I'm no further forward. The bath is cold though.
I saved some phone numbers on gmail and synced them to my phone. How do I transfer them to the sim card?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Google Contacts I've entered birthdays and subscribed to the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar in Google Calendar.They show up as intended in Google Calendar but in my phones calendar they're all listed twice. Unsubscribing from the contacts birthdays calendar makes both disappear, so they're not from some other calendar.Is this a bug in the Galaxy S calendar? Any solutions?

Just wondering I have the above phone, and ever since I bought it, I cant seem to configure my personal hotspot SSID and passcode, without it defaulting back to AndroidAP and default passcode I enter in my desired SSID and passode, click save, and if I go to conect on laptop it will come up ok, but only that one time. If I literally go straight back into the configuration of wifi hotspot, it has defaulted back to AndroidAP
the default labels "Family", "Coworkers", "Friends" are not included on my Samsung Galaxy => couldn't sync at all. Is the same happen to other phones? / raymond
View 2 Replies View RelatedIve just received my new Galaxy S yesterday and I must say I am pretty thrilled. However I cannot send the same text message to all of my contacts. When I go above 10 it says it cant send to more than 10 contacts.
Is this problem related to
1. Samsung ?
2. Android ?
3. Or my Mobile Carrier....which is Optus in Australia.
When I'm trying to select more than 10 contacts to sens an SMS, it says that No more 10 contacts allowed. Does any one know how to fix this? Moreover, how can I send an SMS by just select the group and it insert all the contact of that group?

My contacts have all been duplicated 10-15 times each.Account sync is off, though I did sync facebook, google + last.fm when I first got the phone - a few required linking.Not sure how to re-sync contacts, has anyone else had this problem?

As far as I can figure, Android allows you to group phone contacts but there is no option for grouping Google contacts, which most of my contacts are. Does anyone know a way to group Google contacts on the phone. I don't even care about making Groups on sync. I just want to group them now that they are on my phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had a Motorolla SLVR L7, now I've got my Galaxy S Captivate.I was able to get my contacts from the L7 onto the sim, and the Captivate seems to be reading the sim contacts just fine.I then imported from my Sim card onto my Captivate's internal memory.I had assumed that this would allow me to sync up those contacts into my Gmail, so that I can do manual backups and have a keyboard/mouse to manage them.Except they aren't being loaded into my gmail.

I can make and receive calls faultlessly , but definately have to be able to access my contacts hands free. every time i try to re-pair it it offers an option to share contacts, but does not work once paired .Can anyone more technically savvy than myself offer any ideas / help , unless i can get this to work the phone will have to go back

I have previously used VcardIo to do this with no problems. However when I take the file into the Galaxy S it shows as being 0 k. Though it is on on the G2. View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S, international version, not SIM-locked, not rooted, running Android 2.1-update1. Today I suddenly noticed that my Contacts icon has disappeared from the bottom bar (so I'm not talking about any widgets or shortcuts which the user can manipulate, it's the one which is supposed to sit between the Phone and Messaging icons). The contact data hasn't gone anywhere, I can access contacts through the Phone app, but the missing Contacts icon still bothers me.
I have updated a bunch of apps recently - all of which I have used for a long time before without any problems, such as: Advanced Task Cleaner Pro, Smart Keyboard, Layar, Google Maps, KeePassDroid, Retro Camera and maybe something else too. Today I also erased the trial version of the dictionary app SlovoEd Deluxe and installed the paid version.
Now, should I try to erase the (free) apps one by one to see if that solves the problem, or do I have to go for a hard reset/return to factory settings straight away?
