No auto sync contacts on galaxy s? Samsung seem to have left out this feature, madness I tell you. or is it just me being stupid I did a quick google search and this appears to be the case .

My contacts have all been duplicated 10-15 times each.Account sync is off, though I did sync facebook, google + last.fm when I first got the phone - a few required linking.Not sure how to re-sync contacts, has anyone else had this problem?

i switched from iphone to the galaxy s recently. my contacts used to be saved in my sim card that i transferred over to the new phone. However, i am not able to find an option to sync these existing contacts with my gmail. anyone can tell me how to do that please? Any new contacts that i create in galaxy s can be synced with gmail. i just can't sync the existing ones.

- Enabled Wifi
- Went to Settings-Account and Sync.
- Added facebook account again with SNS settings (syns interval) set to once a day.
- Made sure I saw the two arrows in the white cirkel spinning around indicating sync.
- Held my finger down to the home screen for 2 seconds to add a Android widget - Power control.
- Enabled Sync (the two arrows in the white cirkel spinning around indicating sync)
- Went to Contacts.
- Pressed Menu - Get Friends
- Next screen showed me my facebook account- Pressed it
- NOW I saw ALL my facebook contacts on my screen!
- Clicked CHOOSE ALL and then syn/save
- Checked in Contacts - Menu - Display Options,. that my Facebook account was checkmarked!
A question for owners of this phone. Does the phone show the Global Address List in Exchange? Can I sync my contacts from Outlook and calendar?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOur organisation just changed from ADSL to Fibre Optic cable, and as a result we all had reconnect our devices to the exchange server. As a result, not all my outlook contacts come down from the MS exchange server. I can see them in 'Contacts' in Outlook on my Mac, I can see them in 'Contacts' in the remote desktop, but they are not visible on my phone.
Emails sync down fine, as well as 95% of my contacts.
I'm using Galaxy S2, running ICS 4.0.3
I have lots of funny contact names because of the SKYPE nicknames. Also, some contacts are made from email handlers.
So to organize them nicely, I spent last few hours on my Gmail / Contact account, renaming, adding photos, merging etc... Except, that when I want to SYNC it. Not all of the contacts update, and some remain as they were.
I would trash them all and import new set from Gmail, but I'm worry that when I do that, it might trash my gmail contact as well
Also, is there any way to change the contact font size? I have many long names, and lots of contacts. The screen cuts most of the names off and many of the contacts share same name. I have to open the contact, to find out details in order to know who I'm looking for.
I am having problems with auto sync with gmail contacts. The gmail and google calendar auto sync fine, but whenever I add a contact I always have to do a manual sync on the phone to get the contact from my pc to phone or vice versa. It worked fine for a while but at some point just decided to stop.

I say 'deleting' loosely because when I look through my contacts none are there, however if someone sends me a text it has them saved with their number. View 2 Replies View RelatedOriginally, when I got my Moment, I had it set up to Auto-Sync my Gmail, Contacts and Calendar. I noticed (especially when managing contacts on my phone) that when I made any changes to a contact, the auto-sync would begin, in turn, freezing up the whole contact app/module. It would freeze for about 30 seconds until the sync was complete.
This would also happen with the Gmail app. So I turned off auto-sync a couple weeks ago, and every time I go into Gmail, I just go to Menu, Refresh. But it's a pain when I get a call saying, "Hey, did you get my email?". So I'm thinking of using IMAP for Gmail now, but I'd rather find out if anyone else is having this issue, or if there's a workaround.
I installed CyanogenMod 11.0 for Samsung Express ATT (SGH-I437) last week without any issue and the ROM has been performing without any issues...until yesterday. I don't know what happened, but now 'auto sync' has been disabled for all my email accounts (Exchange and Gmail) and I have to manually sync my email. I know this is a first-world problem, but because the ROM seems relatively stripped-down, I can't find a means to turn-on auto sync again.

I purchased my samsung epic a week ago and every since I've been getting the message that my facebook contacts is unable to syn at the moment an error of some sort,and too try later.WTH? My facebook calender syncs but not the contacts.I thought that it was th phone so I took it back to the sprint store they restarted my hard drive but it still didn't work,thy sent me to the repair center at another store and the general manager told me to go back and tell them to replace the phone and that I shouldn't be having issues so soon. My idiotic sister logged out of my account without my permission, logged into hers and left it like that. Now my facebook account wont sync with my phone contacts again. Everytime i go to my contacts, tap on options and go to 'accounts' and select my facebook from the list of accounts i've added, the 'sync now' button works but when I click on it it says 'sync disabled'.
I went onto my FB app and looked for account sync options but I couldnt find any.

I have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
Is there any way to disable auto-rotate on the Samsung Galaxy S? can you lock the orientation to landscape or portrait?

My S4 auto delete my images, videos, music and documents once in a while like twice a month?
Basically, all files from "My Files" folder are deleted. My apps, contacts and sms-es are all unaffected. I don't have any SD card attached.
After that incidence, I decided to factory data reset my S4 as I suspected the software might be corrupted or infected by virus or something. The same thing happened again after 2weeks or so.
when i type something, say i misspell a word. if i wanna go edit that word. when i tap on the word, the flash cursor moves to the word, and any text behind the cursor is deleted one by one until all texts are gone. i have to retype everything behind the cursor. so annoying.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Google Contacts I've entered birthdays and subscribed to the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar in Google Calendar.They show up as intended in Google Calendar but in my phones calendar they're all listed twice. Unsubscribing from the contacts birthdays calendar makes both disappear, so they're not from some other calendar.Is this a bug in the Galaxy S calendar? Any solutions?

no headset plugged in just act as normal. Hopefully I am just missing something obvious as I can see the option to enable auto answer but this seems to be regardless of weather or not there is a headset plugged in. If this is not possible is there a a way to shortcut the enable and disabling of auto answer rather than having to go through all the menus?
All incoming phone calls are being automatically answered. I went to Settings>Language and Input; however, I don't see the Voice CMD for Apps option. I also want to note that this is not voice activated answering - it is just auto answering. I am not using a headset and the option for auto answering with a headset is off.
