View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a Samsung Galaxy S Advance which was from China. Its stock widgets and apps all support Chinese stuff like Weibo and are useless to me since I live in UK. I can't get Google Store / Android Market either - these aren't on the phone.
It's I9070, running 2.3.6. I downloaded 2.3.6 online and used Odin 1.38 a few times but it always went "FAIL!" on me.
how to get it to run like an european galaxy S?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using Android 2.1 on the Galaxy S.I have multiple numbers defined per contact, e.g. mobile, work, home. Whenever I make or receive a call, the name is shown, and the phone number is shown underneath the name instead of the type that the number is associated with.Any way to show the type (mobile, work, home) instead of the number itself? Otherwise are we supposed to memorize which numbers belong to work, mobile, or home?I don't even see any icons, or colour changes that would signify one of the types.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 and utilize the stock Calendar app - here I integrate several shared Google calendars, personal Google calendars and some other calendars i.e. Facebook & Exchange account.
Can I set default notification time & type (email vs pop-up) from within this app across all calendars, individual calendars, or not at all? If I open Google Calendar on a PC, I know how to set default notifications on a per calendar basis, but cannot figure out how to do it within this Calendar app.
After awhile of heavy SMS use if i open a message and go to type to respond the words i type do not show up on the screen. Id i minimize the keyboard it shows. If I expand it they go away.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've obtained a Samsung Galaxy S3 from a Chinese vendor (live in China). It seems legit (weight, size, runs Chinese (no-market) Android 4.1), but upon starting it with volume down, I don't go into download mode but into something called "factory mode". A blue menu with the option to run tests. When in factory mode and connected over USB, Windows 7 recognises two devices: MT65xx Android Phone and CDC Serial. It doesn't have drivers for it.
I've found some drivers online but they aren't recognised as the right drivers for those two devices. Result is that neither Heimdall nor Odin will be able to communicate with the phone to install ClockWorkMod. It only seems to have a standard Android recovery which does not accept my CyanogenMod Rom file (Invalid OTA package, Update.zip is not correct).
i was trying to reply to my friend in chinese but was not able to change to chinese input. How do I do it?

I used to use the Samsung Keyboard with English and the Chinese language input (downloaded in it's language settings).
But after a hard rest (My phone had recently updated itself to 4.3 with no change) I no longer have Chinese as a downloadable language.
WHY is this so annoying... Becuase if I use another keyboard that has chinese I can't swap between it and the Samsung Keyboard in Keyboard. The Samsung has to be selects in the phone setting and can't be selected as one of many keyboards.
The reason why I wish to use the Samsung keyboard is becuase of its great swipe input function. I have not found another keyboard that has swipe in English and Chinese input funtionality.
Which means I can never using any combo of keyboards swap easily from chinese to swipe english keyboard.
I think It has something to do with the locale version of the 4.3 android os. I heard that different locales have different downloadable language options. But why has mine sudenly changed!
I have the Galaxy Nexus with ver 4.3. When I type a letter in the top row I often get a number printed. Whats up??

My current situation is that I have a phone with 2 camera apps on it, stock and camera FV-5.
Camera FV-5 is slower than the stock camera, so I only use it in situations which I need manual control.
Whenever I open whatsapp and try to send a photo, the app asks me which camera I want to use, with no option to always use stock. I don't want camera FV-5 to exist as an option, as I will open it if I want to use it.
Is there a way to remove an app from the list so that my phone does not recognise camera FV-5 as a camera?
When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted. How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number? In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown. When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
anyone know how to edit the type of vibrate associated with notifications? for instance for emails it uses the notification ringtone, but only has an option to vibrate and it uses the long vibrate. i want to change the vibrate to just a short one. i was able to do this on my hero. i just cant find the option anywhere.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf you press and hold a letter on the Moment, it should pop up a menu of alternate symbols or letters This works on the Hero. Someone claimed it worked on their Moment, but the two I've tried (one at Sprint, one at Best Buy) do not do it. I have searched through the settings menus and the owner's manual and have not found a way to enable this feature. Any suggestions? This is a deal-breaker as I need to be able to type both English and French. I need it to work both on-screen and with hardware keyboard.
View 12 Replies View RelatedAll of my contacts were transferred over from my iPhone by the AT&T store. They are now all on the SIM card, except for a few that I've copied onto the phone. None of these contacts are syncing with Gmail. After some researching it appears as though only contacts of type Google will sync with gmail. So, how do I convert my existing contacts to Google contacts? I can't seem to find anyway to do that.
