Samsung Fascinate :: Need To Expand Text Message Limits To 5K

Didnt see an existing thread on this; sorry if this is a repeat.By default the SF stores 200 texts per conversation and 20 multimedias per conversion. However, that value can in both cases be adjusted up to 5000. Might be excessive but here's how if you haven't already done it: Open Messaging App>Menu>Settings>Text Message Limit>Tap the number and put in 5000>Set and you're done. **If you put in a value greater than 5000 it still ends up as 5000; must be the limit** With 5000 thats gonna be some really long threads but oh well.

I have the Samsung Fascinate obviously but I'm annoyed with one Android feature. I managed to get only my contacts to sync what I want (not e-mails). However, when I send text messages, the message contacts seems to all the e-mail addresses I've previously sent e-mails to.
Is there any way to get rid of that? And why the heck isn't it the same as my contacts?

Since I came from a palm pre I was used to swiping left to right and right to left on a lot of things.. I noticed that when you're in the messaging app and you see the different threads, if you swipe left to right on a person's thread you will get a "CALL" button. If you swipe from right to left you will get a "MESSAGE" button.

I have 2 aol accounts set up to my Fascinate. I am not receiving my new message notification? I only know if I have an email when I go into the account and refresh. I have it set to check every 5 minutes but it doesn't?

I have yahoo plus. When I loaded it on my Fascinate it was successful. I went thru all the steps fine. Now when I try to open the email it says Sorry! The application email (process.com.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again....force close
any insight? I would try to remove the email and start again, but the message pops up so quickly I cant even get to the setting icon.

Is there any settings/flags to expand the summary text of a notification to two lines instead of 1? The text I am trying to put is too long and it goes over the visible area? Will try something like (text+"/n"+restOfText) tomorrow but I don't think it's going to work...

I don't even own a bluetooth headset, but I feel that every time (not sure it is every time) I make a call, I hear a little message indicator while the call is ringing. I look at my phone, and it says "Would you like to enable bluetooth" or something like that. NO I wouldn't, I don't use bluetooth. Anyway to turn this option off?

I have spent the last two years with the Instinct. Now with a couple days on the Evo I would like to comment on a couple of big improvements. I liked the Instinct and it was flawless as a phone. The Evo with its large screen blows it away. Colors on videos and in photos on web browsers are way better. I am a webmaster for a site that is very photo intensive and my opinion is that the Evo colors are very accurate. This is no small thing as our customers need to see the products clearly if they are to make buying decisions. Text in the browser will auto adjust when you expand the screen and I could read articles without my reading glasses which I need for almost everything. These two things make the web actually usable on my phone now.

While playing some videos, especially while using the G4TV app, I get an error message stating "Cannot play video". The strange thing is the video is playing in the background. Is anybody having this problem? I would greatly appreciate a solution. I love G4 and AOTS and would love full use of this app.

I have a layout like this above textview and an image that slides down after clicking the text view. I have looked at translate animation but the issue is I want the image to start from the bottom of text view and gradually get into its full view. Translate animation doesn't let me start from behind the textview so that it can appear slowly and coming out at the bottom of text view and expanding to its fullview. I have linear layout now with textview and imageview.

Sometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

So I got my fascinates just last week, and my wifes phone has been acting crazy a bit, and I am sure its one of the thousands of apps she has installed. So I went into the 'recovery menu' and cleared the cache and did a factory reset from there to just restore to factory state, and now everything stops unexpectedly. Gmail, calendar, and most of all, media message just keeps popping up every 3 seconds or so. If i remove the sd card the media message will stop, but if I launch things like gmail, calendar, car dock, video player, etc., they all stop unexpectedly. I cannot even setup the market place again due to this failing, does anyone have any ideas why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

With Text Messages (SMS) -
Is there a way to either:
a) set the native text appl so that there is no content preview in the notification bar, or
b) with Handcent still have the special puzzle piece show up on your lock screen when you have a new text message?
I really liked how that puzzle piece showed up but now it is gone and I suspect it is ever since I installed Handcent and I don't know how to get it back.
Follow up question -- if I go back to the native text app, is there a way to increase the font size of incoming and outgoing messages? I don't want to have to put my reading glasses on everytime I get a text.

How do you position the cursor in a text box? Evidently, some of the other Galaxy S models have an alternate keypad pop up when you press and hold the ?123 key in a text box.I have not been able to make it work on my Fascinate. I accidentally hit the speaker on the keyboard while in text mode a few times and I just assumed it was for searching BING. Last night I hit it and decided to try to search with it.... but instead what I said got typed into the text that was open!!!! I was blown away! So then I started texting my Bro-In-Law via voice and although it's not perfect, it is very neat! I wish I could read to it and train it better on my Pittsburgh-ees, but if I pause at each word and announciate, it is almost perfect. I just cant talk totally normal. All in all, that is a super cool feature that WinMobilePro could not match.... no way no how. Me likes!

it sounds like most of my concerns have been covered. able to download Google Navigation, add Google Voice Search button to home screen, trash Bing widget. But my questions are in regards to the text entry boxes and the browser. In the browser where you go to type the URL, there is a MIC button, right? If I press that, what voice search does it use? Does the stock browser use Bing Voice Search? Would I need a different browser to be able to utilize Google Voice Search within my browser? Same with sending text messages, emails... anywhere there is a text entry box. Do these boxes that pop up the keyboard and present you with a MIC button use Bing Voice or Google Voice to enter the text?

Anyone have this issue where some people do not get your sent text messages? I seem to receive text messages without problems but sending text messages does not get to certain people. One colleague at work who is on ATT can send me a text but does not receive mine in return. Similar stories for some other contacts of mine and some are on Verizon as well.
