Is ther a way on the fasinate to have a text reminder like to remind u of a text like on my alias 2 it would go off every 2 minutes till u answered the text i cant seem to find this on the fasinate.

I left my daughter sitting at school for 30mins the other night since I didn't see the message until I hung up from my voice call! If I can't find a way to have this feature I might have to switch to the X!

View 34 Replies View RelatedWhile in a call I cannot mute the call whether on speaker phone or headset speaker. I have tried soft reset, hard reset and the dreaded factory reset. Nothing, still am not able to mute a call. This will be a deal breaker for me as I need this to work for my job. I have searched for this and pretty much have found nothing other than folks having muting problems when their face makes contact with the screen while in a call. I have no prob with that. As long as I am listing probs that I have found: Whenever I exit browsing the web my screen brightness goes to full bright and will not adjust itself anymore until I turn the phone off and then back on.
GPS takes from 10 sec to 10 min to connect, very sporadic, and the turn by turn Nav is pretty much useless due to the extreme low volume. Why is it that the speakerphone is extremely loud and most media volumes are nearly whisper quiet? 3G is on again off again 50 % of the time and it shows by my time without a signal, anywhere from 25% to 45% on a daily basis. I never had that problem with the Dinc. Never had more than 2% TWS with the Dinc. Not praising the Dinc here, just stating a fact.
dbm readings are way off. Standing right next to a tower I cannot get below a -86 dbm reading. Again not praising the Dinc but it would read -50 dbm in the exact same location. Just using the comparison for myself to determine if it is a prob with the SF. Get a ton of complaints when using the phone outside when there is even the slightest breeze. Folks have a hard time hearing me over the howling wind noise. Very aggravating. For those that are gonna bash, save it. If you have solutions to the above problems please let me know what they are as my 30 day trial is coming up and I am leaning towards a return. This is the 2nd SF that I have tried with the same results also. The screen on this, camera, video pic quality, and many other great features make this a real bitch, but I need first and foremost a phone that I can mute calls on and talk on outside even when its a breezy day.
How many Fascinates are suffering from this during calls? I heard it for the first time today and came to the forums and found a few more people who had the same problem. I was just wondering if this is a reason to return it or its a software issue. During calls sometimes there is crackling or sort of reverbing from the ear piece. It usually happens when you are speaking loudly.

I like the "flash and style" of the SF as well as the reasonable size. I hit the power button and I can maybe enter two numbers before it goes black again. I just got this phone and am pretty certain this wasnt an issue originally. I'd much prefer the beep as it is very disruptive and a friend asked me the other day what that noise was. It was my phone ringing for an incoming call!

I look at my phone, and it says "Would you like to enable bluetooth" or something like that. NO I wouldn't, I don't use bluetooth. Anyway to turn this option off?

I looked and can't find any way to make the backlight stay on for more than 3 seconds after I take the phone away from my head during a call. Even if I am typing in info paying a bill it still goes out. Is there any way to change this or is it a problem with my phone?

I installed executive assistant which does the job very nicely but it also does a LOT more that I don't need/like. I just want something light weight and simple.
With Text Messages (SMS) -
Is there a way to either:
a) set the native text appl so that there is no content preview in the notification bar, or
b) with Handcent still have the special puzzle piece show up on your lock screen when you have a new text message?
I really liked how that puzzle piece showed up but now it is gone and I suspect it is ever since I installed Handcent and I don't know how to get it back.
Follow up question -- if I go back to the native text app, is there a way to increase the font size of incoming and outgoing messages? I don't want to have to put my reading glasses on everytime I get a text.
I'm coming from the droid which showed when a text/MMS was sent successfully but i don't see this on the Fascinate. I can't find this option.

As far as I can discover, this does not seem to exist on my fascinate. Is there something I might have done that would make this disappear? Or is it something the fascinate doesn't have for some reason?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI accidentally hit the speaker on the keyboard while in text mode a few times and I just assumed it was for searching BING. Last night I hit it and decided to try to search with it.... but instead what I said got typed into the text that was open!!!! I was blown away! So then I started texting my Bro-In-Law via voice and although it's not perfect, it is very neat! I wish I could read to it and train it better on my Pittsburgh-ees, but if I pause at each word and announciate, it is almost perfect. I just cant talk totally normal. All in all, that is a super cool feature that WinMobilePro could not match.... no way no how. Me likes!

View 23 Replies View Relatedit sounds like most of my concerns have been covered. able to download Google Navigation, add Google Voice Search button to home screen, trash Bing widget. But my questions are in regards to the text entry boxes and the browser. In the browser where you go to type the URL, there is a MIC button, right? If I press that, what voice search does it use? Does the stock browser use Bing Voice Search? Would I need a different browser to be able to utilize Google Voice Search within my browser? Same with sending text messages, emails... anywhere there is a text entry box. Do these boxes that pop up the keyboard and present you with a MIC button use Bing Voice or Google Voice to enter the text?
