I got my brother, who is not very tech savvy, a Samsung Fascinate last month. He was asking me recently the best way to copy his pictures and videos ... I wasn't sure what to tell him. I looked, and I noticed his pictures have a "share" option that you can send them to Picasso. Is that good? The videos however did not have this option. Should he simply connect to his PC with a USB cord and copy the files directly?

When i connect my fascinate to my pc via USB i can view all the files on my sd card, transfer back and forth, but the videos i've recorded are in mp4 format and my pc only plays them back as audio. Anyone have any idea how i can ciew on my pc?

Note: You may have to enable Mass Storage to complete these steps.
1. Connect the Fascinate to your computer with the included USB cable.
2. Slide down the notification panel at the top of the screen.
3. Tap USB connected.
4. Tap Mount.
5. On the computer, open the drive that represents your device. It should be in My Computer/Computer for
Windows users or the Finder for Mac users.
6. Make a folder named Music (not required but recommended for organizational purposes.)
7. Copy the music files over to the Music folder. Supported formats are:
AAC
AAC+
AMR-NB
AMR-WB
EVRC
MIDI
MP3
QCELP
SP-MIDI
WAV
WMA
8. After copying music, swipe the Notification panel down, tap USB storage, then tap Unmount.
Now you're ready to enjoy your copied music files right on your Samsung Fascinate.
Wish we could get some more hands on videos, you would think they would start rolling in by now being that this thing is a week from being in our hands.

The BB gave me the option of either streaming or downloading videos, I loved that. Could someone please tell me how to download videos to the SF? View 1 Replies View RelatedI can not figure out how to transfer my videos from my SF to my PC via USB. I successfully transferred one video via dropbox, but it seems to be having trouble with the current one I keep trying to move, maybe due to it's larger size, and it seems like it should be obvious to just plug in the USB and transfer it. The trouble I am having is that once my pc finds my SF and I "mount" it, and I have tried this via mass storage and via the media sync options, my pc will only let me view and transfer the files from the sd card, but apparently the videos I record with my phone are not stored on the sd card.
I need to know how to a) make the videos/pictures store on my sd card rather than the internal memory and b) transfer the videos/pics from my phone to my pc via USB. Usually I can figure this stuff out, but after searching all day, and reading tips, and going through the manual, and installing samsung's usb drivers, I have had it and need a nudge in the right direction.
I installed the driver for Samsung moment in my computer but it still does not read it... Do I have a setting on the phone like blackberries do for mass storage? is it windows 7? Please help. How do I sync or at least import those pics and videos?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn a Samsung Fascinate (not sure if that is relevant) does anyone know how to make pictures that come in to a text message just show up in the message. I got my first incoming text on this phone with a picture attached. I saw the message and a "play" button. Push the button, goes to a screen 1/2 which just has the text itself (which I have already read at this point in the original bubble), then sits for a few seconds, then finally goes to screen 2/2, pulls up the picture, with no text. If I go back to the original message, the play button is still there and I have to go through it all over again. Any setting/apps anyone knows of to just have the picture come up automatically as part of the text.
I am coming from a Palm Pre and the photo would just be sitting there when I opened the message.
I'm using handcent and when sending pictures the recipient would not receive them. On my end it says pending and pictures never reach its destination. I have done this with WiFi turned off. Sending text is no problem but pictures is. Is there a bug in the handcent app? Just wondering because its getting frustrating. I have pictures from last night that never reached my wife and still says pending on the status.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy physical camera button won't take a picture. It does the ding noise for being focused or whatever and the square turns green, but it won't take the picture anymore. If I want to take one I have to use the auto focus on screen tap. The same goes for the camcorder function. I have no clue what's causing this as it always worked fine before. I have the leaked 2.3.15 Froyo with rub-ix focused Rom + nexTheme. To my knowledge the camera button always worked fine until I noticed today that it wasn't.
